For decades, young adult television focused on coming-of-age stories — characters figuring out who they are through romance, friendships, and personal growth.
We had the hopeful struggles of Felicity Porter (Felicity) and the aspirational drama of Gossip Girl, where ambition was wrapped in designer clothes and witty banter. But things have changed.
Today’s young adults on TV aren’t just dreaming — they’re fighting, hustling, and sometimes clawing their way to the top. Shows like Industry, Euphoria, and The Bold Type don’t just show ambition — they make it a survival game.

Let’s be real — today’s young adult characters aren’t just looking for meaning; they’re looking for power.

Two struggling actors living in far from perfect conditions in late 1960s London isn't that far from the truth for countless dreamers. 1987'sWithnail and I, directed by Bruce Robinson, gained cult status through its observant wit and darkly comical portrayal of the '60s countercultural movement winding down. Despite its initial modest success, the film grew in stature by word of mouth, in part through movie fans hosting viewing parties and quoting memorable dialogue.
Although the humor is distinctly British, the themes are universal, finely balancing comedy and melancholy. Director Bruce Robinson used his lived experience as a luckless actor in London to frame the film, and the chemistry between the leads, the great Richard E Grant and Paul MacGann, makes their dysfunctional companionship feel lived-in and real. Withnail and I has come back in a big way through a 4K release from The Criterion Collection, the first reissue of...

Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 13 Put Velasco Right In The Center of An Angry, Cynical Community
The good news is that Velasco finally got his own episode of Law & Order: Svu.
The bad news: Benson wanted him to do the impossible.
Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 13 featured a rapist on the loose in Velasco’s neighborhood, but that didn’t mean he could magically solve the problem, especially with all the anti-cop sentiment surrounding him.
(Peter Kramer/NBC) Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 13 Had An Interesting Premise But The Execution Was Ridiculous
The foundation of “Extinguished” was great.
We had a case in Velasco’s neighborhood where nobody trusted the cops, and everybody actively stopped them from investigating while complaining about low arrest rates.
The distrust in the neighborhood was fertile ground for vigilantism, and at least one innocent guy got beat up by a mob.

Robert Herjavec just pulled off one of the smoothest moves in Shark Tank history. Mark Cuban totally passed on a product that had potential written all over it, but Herjavec wasn’t about to let it slip through his fingers. While Cuban avoided it like the plague, Herjavec swooped in and made a back-door deal that turned out to be ridiculously profitable.

Cuban might’ve missed the mark, but Herjavec saw an opportunity and made it count.

When Shark Tank aired, the founders of Bouqs, an eco-friendly floral company, struck out with the Sharks. Mark Cuban was out, citing concerns about “dumb money,” and Kevin O’Leary wasn’t sold on the delivery speed. Despite the rejection, they didn’t take no for an answer.

Sheesh, you could have at least waved. On the vaguely Celtic-sounding folk song “Irish Goodbye,” Kacey Musgraves explains that she’s mostly a pretty forgiving person and pretty much liked you right up until you had the presumptuous audacity to ghost her. “I want to respect you and you know I tried,” she sings, her words melting into triplets of tolerance until they break: “But there ain’t much respect in an Irish goodbye.”

Dermot Mulroney has been cast in NBC’s Chicago Fire as Chief Dom Pascal for the upcoming thirteenth season.
As Deadline revealed exclusively in June, the hit Wolf Entertainment firefighter drama was adding a new series regular character to lead 51 following the exit of Eamonn Walker — who had played Battalion Chief Wallace Boden for 12 seasons — as a series regular at the end of Season 12.
No official details about Mulroney’s characters have been revealed. According to sources, Dom Pascal began his career with the Cfd but spent the last decade as a chief in Sunny Miami. Described as a cheerful person who works well under pressure, and whose leadership style differs from Boden’s, Pascal is estranged from his wife.
Before Boden was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, he had chosen Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) as his successor.

The Prime Video Fallout TV Show is almost here, and the first official trailer has just come out. Unsurprisingly, the internet is in a complete frenzy after getting glimpses at what’s to come.
The show is rumored to have been expensive to produce and is an ambitious passion project from husband-wife producer duo Jonathon Nolan and Lisa Joy. And, get this—it all started from a small lunch between Nolan and Fallout‘s mastermind, Todd Howard.
From a Handshake to Fallout TV Show Deal
The Fallout TV show all started from a simple lunch between two passionate minds
The thrilling origin story for the upcoming TV show is quite unexpected, revealed during a press conference for the show. Nolan’s journey began when he became obsessed with Fallout 3, which consumed about a year of his life—a risky situation, especially when he was still an aspiring young writer, very early in his career.

With ten movies and five episodes of TV shows to his credit for 2023, Dermot Mulroney seems to be vying to fill the gap left by the retirement of Bruce Willis. Ruthless proves he’s already mastered sleepwalking through a film every bit as well as he could. Sadly, he won’t be the only one sleeping as this film manages to make human trafficking deadly, deadly dull, that is.
Harry just wanted to go watch a movie. But he ends up telling off some kid who isn’t listening when his date says no. That, of course, leads to the kid pulling a knife on him in the parking lot. That’s not a good idea because Harry is a man...
