I had no knowledge of this show when attending a recording of it at Television Centre London. All I can say is it's absolute drivel. A disorganised pointless mess of a show. The host Richard Ayoade seemed disinterested and couldn't be bothered to talk to the audience during the recording or even to thank us for attending this tedious excuse of a program at the end of the show .He just chose to walk off at the end with no acknowledgement. He probably knows the show is s***e.
The amount of "Taskmaster"-alikes on Dave is genuinely quite embarrassing. They know that they're a channel where people are looking for low-budget quiz/mission based entertainment with a warmly reliable stable of the same 30 or so comedians so they churn it out. Sometimes though, stars align and you get stuff like "Question Team" where the panellists themselves have to create a quiz. Ayoade is in self-aware indifferent host mode and there's some genuinely creative and entertaining mini-formats here. Some particular highlights being Kerry Godliman's tent round, Johnny Vegas playing bowls and Bob Mortimer. Just Bob Mortimer. They have a "guest" round each episode as well where they reach outside the Dave stable, which is a welcome addition. Not reinventing many wheels but solidly entertaining with some good guests.
Quite a big Richard fan but this is purely drivel, the format could be entertaining but its rough and not in a funny way, Just pure cringe!
Some humour I will admit but really misses the mark, making tv shows for the sake of tv shows is not a good idea.

I watched an episode this evening, I thought it was awful. However, you have one reviewer making it sound like he was forced into a television studio and that because he was there he should demand the hosts attention. Another reviewer talks about how they've loved Ayoade since the early days of IT Crowd, pssst, Garth Marenghis dark place where he starred alongside Matthew Berry, Steve Merchant, Noel Fielding among others well before his apparent "glory days". Maybe youd be better suited to the US office or Scrubs? Again I thought this show was poor and I'm making up the character count, nice!!
Massive fan or Richard from his days of the I T crowd, gadget and travel man but this just doesn't work!
The same comedians on the Dave channel merry-go-round of shows but I'd honestly rather watch the numerous repeats of shows that are funny than this void of comedy nothingness.
