Strange Adventures has had the comics world hyped since its announcement. The new comic is from writer Tom King, with art from King’s long time collaborator Mitch Gerads and new art partner (and widely beloved superhero artist) Evan “Doc” Shaner, and the advance word on the book was more than enough to generate a ton of excitement. But does the first issue live up to the Eisner-bait hype?
The answer is a combination of “That’s not a fair question to ask,” and “oh my goodness yes.” Let’s start with yes.
In what is perhaps the least surprising statement of the year, the art is stupendous. Mitch Gerads and Doc Shaner each have their own strengths. Gerads excels at the mundane, making even a chat in a hotel room between a bored wife and a fried husband exciting. Shaner, by contrast, does the big, titanic superhero stuff perfectly.

Movie Review: "Rush"; Star Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Pancholi, Neha Dhupia, Sagarika Ghatge; Director: Shamin Desai; Rating: *** - lacks punch, but has some riveting moments.
Ouch, the TV channels won't be flattered. "Rush", like Ram Gopal Varma's "Rann" three years ago, rushes into the cut-throat world of Trp-driven competition among news channels where news, if not discovered is created in the newsroom. So Varma told us in "Rann".
And now late director Shamin Desai's "Rush" takes us into the ostensibly murky chatroom politics of newchannels where news-baron Roger Khanna.

If reliable reports coming from the South are to be believed, then a very powerful lobby from Hyderabad helmed by producer Suresh Babu who is Rana Daggubati's father, is targeting for ban on Pankaj Kapoor's Mausam in the South. Says a source, "It's a dispute between one of the Mausam producers Madhu Mantena and Suresh Babu. Sauresh Babu claims Mantena owes him Rs. 3 crores from an earlier deal during the release of Rann that Mantena had produced. Mantena, however, is clear that whatever the financial dispute over Rann, it does not involve Mantena. In retaliation, Suresh Babu has used his huge influence in the South for distributors and exhibitors to boycott Mausam unless the Rs. 3-crore alleged dues are cleared." Mantena is evasive on the matter. He finally admits, "Yes, there is an issue with Rana's father. We're trying to solve it amicably. But there seems no scope for discussion.

Riteish Deshmukh would next be seen in Double Dhamaal while he would be also kick starting the shoot of another comedy Housefull 2. While the actor with a strong sense of comedy is sure that it would be only comic outings for some time to come at the least, such strong stand is pretty justified. After all he has done a serious film (Rann), a romantic flick (Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai) and a fantasy drama (Aladin) in the recent past, none of which did too well at the box office. Read More...

Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan
Actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly walked out of Ram Gopal Varma?s Department after son Abhishek Bachchan was dropped from the cast
Ram Gopal Varma had allegedly revealed the ending of Dum Maaro Dum (2011) before its release through an SMS and also made digs at Abhishek Bachchan. This resulted in a fall out between the two and saw Rana Daggubati replace Junior Bachchan in Department. Amitabh Bachchan didn?t take this lightly and walked out of the film. A source reported ?Amitabh is not interested in working with a filmmaker who has meted out such shoddy treatment to his son?.

“It all started last month when Abhishek told Ramu that he wasn’t too keen on working in the film. The director couldn’t take a ‘No’ gracefully. He started sending out uncharitable remarks on Dum Maro Dum from his cellphone,” revealed a source.

With Department, Ramu would be working with Amitabh Bachchan for the sixth time (after Rann, Sarkar Raj, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, Nishabd, Sarkar) if one leaves aside the iconic actor's mini appearance in episodic horror flick Darna Zaroori Hai aside. Now that this film is turning out to be a reality, the first thought that instantly comes to mind is Nana Patekar starrer Ab Tak Chappan. It was ages back when Ramu had produced this cop drama that again narrated the tale of encoun...

The drama doesn't end with the final print when it comes to Ram Gopal Varma's Rakhta Charitra. The film has garnered mixed reviews from all corners since its release on Friday last week, although majority of them are positive. But while the pre-release drama had the producers changing all the posters to erase all notation of the Mahabharata, since its release another headache has arisen.
Protests by members of the Andhra Pradesh political party called Telugu Desam Party[Tdp], have now cornered the Rann director and his producer C. Kalyan to delete scenes from the film which include Shatrughan Sinha in them. Why you may ask? This is due to the character he plays in the trilingual film. As the story is inspired by true events, the character Shatrughan Sinha played in the film, Shivaji Rao, a famous actor turned politician, is based on the late Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao[Ntr] who...

October 16, 2010: Controversy and Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma go hand in hand. Most of his films have gone through some controversy. His movie Rann faced controversy for spoofing the national anthem. His new movie Rakhta Charitra is no exception. This time, the filmmaker has quoted a line from ‘Mahabharat’ in his movie Rakhta Charitra’s posters. This has not gone well with the censor board in Hyderabad, which has put objection on the line, which says, ‘Revenge is the purest emotion’. The producers of the movie have been asked by the censor board to remove the reference.
A source was quoted saying that the censor board in Hyderabad said that it can’t be proved that the line in question has indeed any reference in ‘Mahabharat’..
