Storm Cloud, the horse used in the filming of Unrequited, was a direct descendant of the race horse, Storm Cat and a distant relative to second most famous race horse in the world, Secretariat.
In the opening crane shot, a horse statue can be seen. The statue is the grave site of the famous race horse Seattle Slew.
