On August 28, Deadline exclusively reported that Duff will play the lead protagonist, Miranda Miller, a mother who is determined to make her 10-year-old daughter the most successful child beauty pageant contestant in America.

Duff rose to fame as a teenage Disney star for her portrayal of Lizzie McGuire in the eponymous TV series and a movie based on the series. Subsequently, she appeared in numerous films, such as A Cinderella Story and the Cheaper by the Dozen duology.

Two years after the cancelation of How I Met Your Father, Hilary Duff will be reuniting with Hulu for a new show. Duff is previously known for her show How I Met Your Father, a spinoff of the hit show How I Met Your Mother. She is also known for starring in Younger as well as the beloved Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire and the movie A Cinderella Story.

Hulu canceled How I Met Your Father after two seasons, even though season 2 received a 20-episode order after season 1 only had 10. Many How I Met Your Father questions were left unanswered, including the identity of the father, as the spinoff was cut short.

The Young and the Restless is giving Roger Howarth another on-screen life to live.

The CBS soap has tapped the daytime vet for a story arc set to air later this year, TVLine has confirmed. He will begin taping in September, but details regarding his character and storyline have not been disclosed. (Deadline was the first to report the news.)

The limited series hailing from “This Is Us” co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger has been ordered to series at Hulu, TheWrap has learned. The news comes months after the show was reported to be in development in April, which had Lohan, Aptaker and Berger attached, while Woodley joined the cast amid the series greenlight.

Cobie Smulders is officially returning for season 3 of Shrinking. At the Newport Beach TV Fest, Jason Segel confirmed that Smulders, who starred with him on How I Met Your Mother for nine seasons, will reprise her role after a memorable guest appearance in season 2. He added (via Variety)

Segel further teased, highlighting that their natural chemistry stems from 20 years of friendship, even though their characters are just getting to know each other. Honestly, the show failed to take advantage of the popularity of its prequel show. While fans expected something similar in tone to Suits, the LA version failed to make a case for itself.

With the cancellation of this spinoff that brought back Harvey Specter in a recurring guest role, Aaron Korsh should put his focus on another project that fans have been asking for. Exclusive: Meaghan Rath (Hawaii Five-0) has been cast as a series regular opposite leads Billy Magnussen and Sarah Goldberg in AMC and AMC+’s untitled Jonathan Glatzer Silicon Valley series.

The drama, produced by AMC Studios, is set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs and cutthroat private high schools. It is centered around a rift between a self-appointed “inventor of the future” tech CEO Duncan (Magnussen) and his self-serving “performance psychologist” Joanne (Goldberg), who are engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data.

Rath will play Anushka, the Chief Ethicist at a Cupertino-based tech company and Duncan’s former mistress.

Glatzer is writer, executive producer and showrunner. Gina Mingacci also executive produces.

Rath’s recent series credits include Hulu’s How I Met Your Father and Fox’s Accused. She is repped by CAA, Hess Entertainment and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.

Many exciting shows are coming to Hulu over the next couple of months.

The streaming service confirmed on Monday that Mid-Century Modern, its highly-anticipated multi-camera comedy, is one of those and will receive its debut on March 28.

The series will stray from the typical weekly rollout, with the streaming platform dropping all 10 episodes on the premiere date.

Suits LA makes its premiere on NBC on Sunday, Feb. 23. Ahead of the episode's airing, the show was given its debut score on Rotten Tomatoes with its early reviews from critics, but the result was not exactly great.

Currently, Suits LA has an approval rating of 36% on Rotten Tomatoes. An audience score will not be known until after the premiere airs, so it remains to be seen if viewers will feel the same. As it stands, the Suits spinoff will have a lot of catching up to do to reach the heights of its parent series, which has an average score of 91% with an 87% audience score. The first season of Suits has a 78% rating, while Pearson, the prevous spinoff, has a 72% rating.

Both actors will be guest stars in season two, with Meester joining her real-life husband, Adam Brody, on the show. Variety has learned exclusively that Leighton Meester and Miles Fowler will appear in the second season of the popular Netflix comedy in guest roles. The casting will no doubt delight Meester’s fans, as she will be appearing in the show which stars her husband, Adam Brody.

“Nobody Wants This” also stars Kristen Bell, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.

It’s not uncommon for sitcoms to botch their ending, as over the years, only a handful of shows have managed to conclude things on a high note, and unfortunately, Josh Radnor’s How I Met Your Mother wasn’t one of them. Before the writers went through with the controversial ending, according to Ashley Williams, Victoria was initially conceived as the mother by the showrunners in case of any potential cancellation.

The Night Agent will be back for another season, and this was known before Season 2 even came out.

The action-packed series saw its 10-episode second season arrive Jan. 23 on Netflix after getting pushed to the new year from an originally planned late 2024 launch.

A specific release date has not yet been revealed, but Season 3 is expected to premiere in 2026. The writers room for the new installment was commissioned by Netflix ahead of Season 2’s launch with a production unit in Istanbul at the end of 2024 and shooting set to begin in New York on Feb. 3, 2025.
