Chad Michael Murray's role in Mother of the Bride connects to his 2003 comedy Freaky Friday. In addition to another big connection, both movies feature him falling in love with single mothers. Murray's role in Mother of the Bride proves he should return for Freaky Friday 2 with Lohan and Curtis.
Mother of the Bride contains a subtle connection to one of star Chad Michael Murray's early comedy movies with Lindsay Lohan. The new movie, which is unrelated to the Father of the Bride franchise, is a Netflix original romantic comedy that also stars Brooke Shields, Miranda Cosgrove, Sean Teale, Rachael Harris, and Benjamin Bratt. It comes from a screenplay by Robin Bernheim, whose previous collaborations with the streaming service include the Princess Switch trilogy and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding.

Gunmen: Mario Van Peebles fondly recalls working with Christopher Lambert on underrated 90s actioner
The other day, one of our writers sat down with Mario Van Peebles to talk about his upcoming spiritual sequel to Posse, Outlaw Posse. In the pretty awesome conversation, we asked Mario about what we consider a pretty underrated movie of his, Gunmen. This 1994 action flick paired him with Christopher Lambert, with an all-star cast that included Denis Leary as the film’s villain, Patrick Stewart, and nineties dream girl Brenda Bakke, as well as 90s rappers like Big Daddy Kane, Eric B, Rakim, Doctor Dre and Ed Lover – who all played themselves. It’s a tough movie to find these days, but Peebles had fond memories of what they were trying to accomplish with it.
“Gunmen tips a hat to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. My character, Christophe’s character, and the other character have a piece of the puzzle as to where the cachet of gold is.

Lately, we at JoBlo have been championing the collection of physical media in the face of certain movies that have been getting somewhat lost due to extremely limited availability. This is especially an issue for those who partake in a digital collection of movies, which has the potential of disappearing despite purchasing them. However, there are great distributors like Vinegar Syndrome and Arrow Video that have done a fantastic job remastering rare movies for Blu-ray releases. The Mvp Rewind Collection has recently announced that the Albert Pyun action-thriller, Mean Guns, starring Christopher Lambert, Ice-t, Michael Halsey, Deborah Van Valkenburgh and Tina Cote is set for a Blu-ray release on April 9.
The plot description, courtesy of Blu-ray.com, reads,
“The world’s most dangerous criminals are summoned to a new prison on the eve before its grand opening by Moon, the ruthless leader of the world’s most powerful crime syndicate.

Smallville follows the adventures of Clark Kent, with many other Kryptonians also appearing on the show. Premiering in the fall of 2001, Smallville shows a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) in his adolescence and into early adulthood, with Clark gradually developing his Kryptonian powers and learning about his alien heritage as the Kryptonian refugee, Kal-El. Smallville ran for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2011, with Clark finally becoming Superman in the show's finale.
Many iconic characters from the Superman mythos also appear during Clark's journey to becoming Superman on Smallville, including his future arch-enemy Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum). Additionally, Clark is far from the only Kryptonian seen on Smallville. While many Kryptonians appear in minor or background roles on Smallville, other Kryptonian characters appear in significant and even pivotal roles on the show. Tom Welling opens up on the divisive Superman ending from the Smallville series finale as Clark Kent became the Man of Steel. Before the Arrowverse was one of The CW's biggest franchises, Smallville was their primary superhero drama until its end in 2011. Focused on a young Clark Kent, Smallville was the ultimate Superman origin story that lasted for a decade, making it one of the longest-running superhero shows ever made. While Clark did become Superman in the series finale, there was still some controversy as Welling never wore the actual suit.
The Smallville series finale ended up being heavily divisive amongst viewers, especially having spent ten years following the journey of the future Man of Steel. At this year's Lucifer The TV Series Official Convention Welling defended the direction of the Smallville series finale, as the following was shared during the panel:

After the emotionally charged and painful last episode, the third episode of the third season of “Superman & Lois” deals with the immediate aftermath of the discovery that Lois has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive inflammatory breast cancer. The nefarious Bruno Mannheim’s plans affect both Smallville and Metropolis, as we see Lana and Henry Irons getting ambushed by Onomatopoeia in the mayor’s office while investigating the murder of Mayor Dean (killed by the same perp). After Clark confronts Bruno regarding his involvement in Atom Man’s current predicament of gaining superpowers, the former manages to gaslight Superman to some extent. We also saw Lois valiantly talk Judge Reagan out of committing suicide, as the latter feared for her life being pinched by Bruno’s men to assist in their dirty deeds. At the same time, Lois lets Clark and the kids know the heartbreaking truth of her being diagnosed with cancer,...

Warning: The following contains Spoilers for the Superman and Lois season 3 premiere. The new Fortress of Solitude in Superman and Lois season 3 was revealed to have one particular upgrade that is more commonly associated with X-Men than the Superman Family. Assassin, the final previously announced film starring Bruce Willis, has received an official release date. The actor, who first rose to fame thanks to his role in the sitcom Moonlighting, has been an action and drama star since his lead role in the smash hit 1988 film Die Hard, holding roles in popular films including Pulp Fiction and The Sixth Sense. Last March, Willis' family announced that he had retired from acting after a diagnosis of aphasia, and a health update last week revealed that he had also been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Per Collider, Assassin is now set to release on March 31. The release will be day-and-date, so the film will be available in certain theaters and VOD on the same day. This is the same weekend as the release of the fantasy epic Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, so it could provide some solid counter-programming for the more family-friendly outing.

Die Hard was far from the only Bruce Willis Franchise, but how do they rank alongside one another? While he may have retired from acting in 2022, Willis leaves behind an incredible filmography. It's true that action movies may have been his most successful projects, but he appeared in everything from horror (The Sixth Sense) to drama (In Country) and even had his own children's TV series (Bruno The Kid). While some action stars may have struggled with roles outside the genre, Willis was able to switch between drama, comedy, romance and everything in between with ease.
Like any major star, Willis made his share of duds (with Hudson Hawk being one of the most infamous), but even his weakest offerings (usually) had something to enjoy. Outside of the Die Hard movies, the star tended to avoid franchises until later in his career, but during the 2000s, he frequently began to...
