Lonow, who is under an overall deal at Universal Television, has created four shows that have gone to air: Accidentally On Purpose for CBS, Rude Awakening for Showtime, Good Girl’s Don’t for Oxygen and How To Live With Your Parents for ABC. She most recently served as co-executive producer on NBC comedy series I Feel Bad and consulting producer on Crowded. Lonow currently has single-camera comedy Fan Girl in development at Peacock with Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills, under her Uni TV deal.

NBC has put in development The Inn Crowd, a multi-camera comedy from Young & Hungry creator David Holden, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak’s That’s Wonderful Productions and Warner Bros. TV where the company is based.

Written by Holden, The Inn Crowd is inspired by Tony Horwitz’s 1999 New Yorker article and centers around a gay couple who divide a small town when they open a very successful inn.

Holden executive produces alongside Parsons and Spiewak via their That’s Wonderful Productions. Eric Norsoph, head of development and production for That’s Wonderful, will oversee the project for the company.

Fear the Walking Dead alum Kim Dickens has been tapped to star opposite Lily Mae Harrington In Queen Fur, Showtime’s drama pilot from writer Eileen Myers (Masters of Sex). Michael Mosley (Seven Seconds), Jon Foster (Like Father), Joshua Mikel (The Walking Dead), Keith Machekanyanga (Timeless) and Spencer Howell (Ithaca) also have been cast as regulars should the pilot go to series.

Created, written and executive produced by Myers, Queen Fur is set in a small town in Central Florida – a place where beauty pageants, gun culture, Cuban revolutionaries and Southern hospitality co-exist and collide. “Dharma and Greg” put her on the map in the late 1990s, but after that hit, the actress suffered through a series of disappointments, including “Courting Alex,” “Accidentally on Purpose,” “1600 Penn,” and “Growing Up Fisher.”

“I had written off network TV,” Elfman said. “I told my agents not to come to me with another network show. I work really hard and I do my best to promote the shows. I feel like mostly I do a good job. In any other field that would give you job security. Sometimes it’s like it doesn’t matter.”

But there was something she couldn’t resist about “Imaginary Mary,” her new ABC series from “The Goldbergs” executive producer Adam F. Goldberg.

Disney Pictures has signed on TV writer Bill Kunstler ("Mom," "Accidentally on Purpose") to adapt the screenplay for the film version of Ursula Vernon's children's book "Castle Hangnail".

The story centers on a twelve-year-old girl who shows up on Castle Hangnail's doorstep to fill the vacancy for a wicked witch at a time that the castle desperately needs a master or face being decommissioned by the Board of Magic.

She projects confidence during the series of tasks she must complete in order to be approved by the board while concealing several secrets, including her true identity.

TV Od will feature the Fake Reaction star trawling through tweets, blogs and forum posts about opinions on the previous week's TV shows.

It’s official: Former 1600 Penn Flotus Jenna Elfman is returning to NBC next season as the female lead in Growing Up Fisher (fka The Family Guide).

TVLine has learned exclusively that the Peacock net has closed a deal with Elfman to replace the recently-exiled Parker Posey in the single-camera comedy, which is set to debut at midseason.

A pair of new NBC comedies are in recasting mode, with a well-known actress looking to take over one of the vacated parts.

The network wants Jenna Elfman -- who starred on NBC's "1600 Penn" this season -- to take a lead role in "The Family Guide," according to TVLine. She would replace Parker Posey, who left the show after filming the pilot. NBC will also recast two parts on "Undateable," which like "The Family Guide" is set for a midseason debut.

"The Family Guide" is about a boy (Eli Baker) and his relationship with recently divorced parents (J.K. Simmons plays his father), and how the family ultimately becomes closer after the divorce. DJ Nash, who previously worked with Elfman on "Accidentally on Purpose," created the show.

"Undateable" is going through its second recasting of the lead female role. Briga Heelan ("Cougar Town") replaced Aly Michalka during the pilot process.

Sarah Chalke and Judy Reyes were for a long time the first ladies of the Zach Braff starring medical comedy, Scrubs as Elliot and Carla. Now Chalke has found her way back into the halls of a busy hospital. This time she’ll appear at Seattle Grace for ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. The big question is this one: Will she be wearing scrubs again?

The answer is: It’s possible. Grey’s will welcome Chalke as a guest star sometime this spring, as we learned from TV Line. Details about her character, however are severely lacking. Perhaps we’ll learn more soon. Either way, seeing this actress pop up on a new series is always very charming.

What’s the deal: The mysterious death of a childhood friend, who also happens to be a modern-day wealthy socialite, causes Detective Joanna Locasto, played by Californication’s Meagan Good (Think Like a Man, Saw V) to go back undercover as a guest of the family she grew up with, as a servant’s daughter, to find out the truth. The cast for this includes Alias’ Victor Garber, The O.C. and Damages’ Tate Donovan, and Breakout Kings’ Laz Alonso. This series replaces the apocalyptic drama Revolution on NBC’s schedule during the latter’s extended hiatus and is created by Liz Heldens, who wrote for Friday Night Lights as well as the Us version of Prime Suspect.

ABC's midseason comedy How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) is staging a Knots Landing reunion.

Michele Lee, who starred as Karen on the long-running CBS soap, has been tapped to guest star in an upcoming episode of the comedy from showrunner Claudia Lonow, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

The casting marks a Knots Landing reunion for the writer-producer who co-starred as Diana Fairgate on the soap from 1979 to 1993 before segueing to a behind-the-scenes role on series including Accidentally on Purpose and The War at Home.

ABC is looking to add another “modern family” to its primetime lineup. The network has given a put pilot commitment to a single-camera comedy from writer/comedian Andrea Abbate (Accidentally On Purpose), produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Marty Adelstein and Shawn Levy’s studio-based 21 Laps/Adelstein. Titled Crazy Gene, the comedy is based on the real-life experiences of Abbate who took in her brother’s son while he was in prison and adopted a 13-year-old black boy. “Some families are prone to cancer, mine’s prone to felonies,” Abbate said. ABC's midseason comedy "How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)" has by far the longest title of any new show this season. It also may have the most autobiographical title.

Series creator Claudia Lonow ("Accidentally on Purpose," "Less Than Perfect") says she has lived with her folks for the past 15 years, and she plans on mining her own life for the show for as long as she can.

For instance, as relates to the lead character's (Sarah Chalke) dating life: "I would say that being a divorced woman with a child who lives with her parents is not a selling point," Lonow says. "I had a couple guys drive me home and want to come in, and I'm like ... 'Well, I'm going to break this to you now' ... and they kind of ran to the car to get away."

Celebrating Diy film-making of the endearingly amateurish kind, this festival could mark the moment a joke becomes a serious art form, but let's hope not. Leading the charge are bedroom classics such as Star Wars Uncut, a crowdsourced shot-for-shot recreation made by thousands of under-resourced fans, and Night Of The Living Dead: Reanimated, which does a similar job, except with animation. Screening alongside them are such studio-made takes on Diy film-making as Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind, which coined the term "Sweded", and Son Of Rambow, which oddly echoes Zachary Oberzan's one-man Rambo, Flooding With Love For The Kid. All this plus little extras add up to a delectably silly two-day event.

Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) is returning with a new programme in January next year, taking the lead in ABC’s How to Live with your Parents (For the Rest of your Life).

After Mad Love was cancelled after a short-lived season, following Chalke’s leading role in Scrubs, we heard earlier this year that she’d signed on for a new comedy which has just had its first trailer debut.

Julie Anne Robinson (Weeds, One for the Money) is directing the pilot, from a script by Claudia Lonow (Accidentally on Purpose), with Elizabeth Perkins, Brad Garrett, and Orlando Jones, and Rachel Eggleston playing Chalke’s young daughter.
