Starz has announced the movie and TV titles that will be available on the service in March. The Starz March 2025 schedule includes the premiere of Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 and a selection of films celebrating Women’s History Month.

The Starz app expands in March with an exciting mix of films, including Fast X, Reagan, The Killer’s Game, Never Let Go, Bagman, White Bird, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and more.

Rashida Jones has over 80 screen acting credits to her name and may be best known for her roles in the likes of Parks and Recreation, Sunny, The Social Network, Celeste & Jesse Forever, and/or I Love You, Man. She’s also a writer, having worked on the likes of Toy Story 4, The Other Black Girl, an episode of Black Mirror, and the aforementioned Celeste & Jesse Forever – and she’s a director, having directed episodes of Roar, #BlackAF, Angie Tribeca, and Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On. She also co-directed the documentary Quincy, about her father, record producer and composer Quincy Jones. A couple of months ago, it was announced that she is co-writing a new Tom and Jerry movie, and now, Deadline has revealed that she’s set to direct a film called Playdate.

For this film, Jones will be bringing a script by Danish writer Marie Østerbye to the screen.

Rashida Jones (Sunny) is teaming with Gloria Sanchez on Playdate, the feature adaptation of Marie Østerbye’s original script, which landed at #2 on last year’s Black List. Jones will direct, with Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell producing for Gloria Sanchez.

In the film, a playdate erupts into full scale psychological warfare as two mothers confront the damage of childhood bullying, while their daughters engage in mind games of their own. UTA Independent Film Group reps rights to the project.

Previously co-directing the Emmy-nominated documentary Quincy on her father, record producer Quincy Jones, Jones has also helmed episodes of series like Roar, #BlackAF, and Angie Tribeca, on which she also starred. KeokeN, the talented Dutch studio behind Deliver Us Mars and Deliver Us The Moon, has been forced to lay off its staff as it fails to find backing for future videogames.

Here’s a videogame industry story that, at least for the moment, has a sad ending. KeokeN, the studio behind the technically stunning sci-fi adventures Deliver Us The Moon and its sequel Deliver Us Mars, has announced that it’s to lay off its entire workforce due to the lack of financial backers.

In March this year, the Dutch studio made the unusual step of turning to social media to show off five projects it had in development. Having already struggled to find investors who wanted to fund its ideas, it decided to pitch them to its followers in the hope that it could find either a willing publisher or backer.

2024 has been an interesting year in terms of religious horrors. The Deliver Us ending focused on a woman giving birth to both the Antichrist and Messiah. It offered a new take on Rosemary's Baby that was very thought-provoking, and reiterated the message that sometimes people do have the opportunity to break the mold and not follow a set path.

Sydney Sweeney's Immaculate treads similar ground, as it focuses on a sinister pregnancy at an Italian convent. As with many movies today, fans who haven't seen it yet are left wondering if there is a post-credits stinger looking to expand this flick into other movies.

Seemingly exhausted by the process of repeatedly pitching game ideas to investors, Dutch studio KeokeN has turned to its social media community to find help for its potential next game.

Deliver Us from Evil's ending sees Sergeant Sarchie and Priest Mendoza team up to perform an exorcism on Santino, successfully freeing him from demonic possession. The Jungler demon, invented for the movie, is an ancient and cruel entity that writes inscriptions to allow demonic forces to possess others. Butler, Sarchie's partner, dies after being stabbed by Santino during a brutal fight. Sarchie successfully saves his wife and daughter from Santino's kidnapping.

Deliver Us from Evil's ending sees Eric Bana's sergeant Sarchie face off against both inner and outer demons, but does he defeat both? Based on a book by former NYPD sergeant turned demonologist Ralph Sarchie, the movie's story finds Sarchie and his partner Butler (Joel McHale) as they investigate a strange series of crimes around the Bronx. These cases lead back to three former marines who have seemingly become possessed after encountering an ancient inspiration in Iraq.

The main antagonist in the movie "Deliver Us from Evil" is the Jungler demon who possesses Mick Santino and goes on a killing spree in New York City. Sergeant Sarchie and his team, including a priest, investigate the strange behavior of three former marines and discover the Jungler demon's involvement. The Jungler demon has powers such as possession, enhanced strength, brainwashing, and combat skills, and its ultimate goal is to cause chaos and bring other demons to Earth.

Every horror movie needs one entity that relentlessly torments the other characters, and in Deliver Us from Evil, that role goes to the Jungler. As the main antagonist, the Jungler was a demon who possessed Mick Santino, played by Sean Harris, in the 2014 supernatural horror film directed by Scott Derrickson. The movie revolved around New York Police Department Special Operations Sergeant Ralph Sarchie, played by Eric Bana, and a string of peculiar...

Deliver Us From Evil is based on the real-life story of Ralph Sarchie, an NYPD cop and demonologist who worked on supernatural cases. Sarchie has been involved in over 20 exorcisms and conducted hundreds of house exorcisms, according to his own accounts. While Father Mendoza is a fictional character in the movie, he is inspired by two real-life individuals, Bishop Robert McKenna and Father Malachi Martin, who mentored Sarchie in his work.

Deliver Us From Evil claims to be based on a true story, and while Ralph Sarchie is a real person, the movie made various changes to his story. A great opening can set the tone of an entire movie. For horror and adventure genres, a glimpse of the main monster sets viewers on edge and teases the terrors that are to come. This is especially true for animated features, as there are endless possibilities for hair-raising antics with their unique character and world designs.

Adventure epics, such as Kubo and the Two Strings, use jilted movements and handmade shadows to weave an introduction that is deeply foreboding. Likewise, horror films such as Monster House tease the supernatural nightmares that will be explored to their fullest potential. While most of these movies may be targeted toward younger audiences, that doesn't mean they hold back with their mature themes and imagery.

Monsters, Inc.

Monsters, Inc. may be about the creatures that lurk within humans' closets, but the film itself is more of an adventure-comedy.

In parts, the morbid mood Deliver Us aimed for hits just the right spot, and you’re left with the feeling that they knew exactly what they were doing. Then there are the perplexing terrains in this temperamental indie where you’re dropped without a compass. What the ambitious team of Lee Roy Kunz and Cru Ennis has achieved with this part-English, part-Russian, and part-Estonian horror is pulling you into an experience to remember. The goal, seemingly, was to give the audience no option but to willfully surrender to this wholly erratic world. A world where each significant turn promises just as much grotesque pleasure as it does dread. It makes all the sense in the world to have the sickening spasms of pregnancy horror chased by hellhounds of religious horror. And to add priests to the mix with no exorcism in sight? Now, that’s what I call bold.

Horror Film School is a new feature in which talent in front of and behind the camera share the ins and outs of creating the biggest onscreen scares.

Religious concepts have long become an essential and recognizable component of horror cinema. The struggle between good and evil, the unknown realms of the supernatural, and the eternal battle for one's soul are all themes deeply rooted in religious lore, making them a natural fit for horror narratives. Filmmakers have time and again drawn inspiration from Christian religious beliefs to craft compelling and dark narratives, and their continuous success proves that audiences can't seem to get enough. Deliver Us, is set to be a new addition to this beloved subgenre, and with its release date approaching, Magnolia Pictures has released a trailer that highlights what audiences should expect.

"If they are born, they will bring about the end of days." Magnolia Pictures has revealed the official trailer for a religious horror thriller film titled Deliver Us, from filmmakers Cru Ennis & Lee Roy Kunz. This was originally titled Kill the Child, which is too dark and frightening to use as a title. There's so many strange things about this - she's a Russian Nun, then they try to stop her pregnancy, of course those "bad guys", so she goes on the run. According to an ancient prophecy, a woman will give birth to identical twin boys: one will be the Messiah, and the other the Anti-Christ. When Sister Yulia claims to have immaculately conceived twins, the Vatican sends a team of priests to investigate. They are joined by affiliates of a secret society, the Vox Dei. However, an American Jesuit, Father Fox, discovers their plan and helps her to escape.

An ancient prophecy centered around immaculately conceived twins, one evil and one good, is poised to deliver new religious terror in Deliver Us. A brand new trailer unveiled today teases the religious horror in store for the upcoming horror film.

Magnet Releasing will release religious horror film Deliver Us in theaters and on VOD on September 29, 2023.
