Sovri mne pravdu

I confess that I didn't expect much on this. I dont know how to express my feelings after watch that. The movie was enjoyable to watch until halfway through or near the end, but the way things unfolded in such a clumsy way ruined a promising story.

For those who are looking for a movie with spicy and provocative scenes, perhaps there are good pickings. By the way the casting choice was good, there are beautiful actors.

It really bothers me that promising and relatively well-developed stories end up having poor and lazy endings.

In fact, for me the quality of the image and the acting were good.

I think language was a barrier, but story maker has realised wrongly that nudity in the movie can increase viewership and may hit the movie. I believe they are on the wrong side of the road....

If you are thinking about watching this because of the nudity: well be aware that it may not be as titilating as the poster may suggest. What it does though: laying the groundwork for what is about to come in the rest of the movie. It tells you what it is about. For better or worse.

And the characters in this are mostly ... well they are not very likeable for various reasons. Especially when the twists keep coming. And the mother twist of them all (not sure if you see it coming, no pun intended) is able to break the movie for you. Beware of your own moral conclussions.

A fair question to ask the audience, do we need a movie like this in 2021? I mean, what's the point? The production value of your in studio phonographic movie has equal if not better value than this movie. The same is for the quality of the acting in an adult movie (porn) and this Russian un-masterpiece. At least with a porno, you get more nudity and see more. Sovri men pravdu is an empty attempt to be taken seriously. Instead, it falls short to anything erotic, thrilling or taboo. The terrible direction and blind editing takes away from the overall quality of storytelling. Many of the scenes feel backwards and nothing less than a headache. You get better plots in an X rated movie. There is some nice eye candy throughout this movie. However, for 2021, you need more than just some pretty faces and bodies. A story, realistic plot, quality driven acting and a moral worth watching for. Instead, this movie makes you wish you watched pornography instead.
