Of course I had not heard about "Jack Squad" prior to watching it here in 2025. But I actually watched part two before I had the chance to watch the 2009 first movie. And I didn't enjoy the sequel, so I have to say that I harbored zero expectations to the 2008 movie. Yet, I still opted to give it a fair chance, on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen.
And this was a dumpster fire of a movie. It was a mental struggle of epic proportions to sit through the movie. The narrative in "Jack Squad" was just downright ridiculously bad and had nothing interesting to offer.
Of course I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. And I wasn't particularly impressed with what I witnessed on the screen. Now, don't get me wrong here, because I'm not saying that it was flat-out bad performances, but it was bland and forgettable performances, which just piled to the dumpster fire that is "Jack Squad".
This is by no means a movie I would recommend anyone to waste 126 minutes on watching. It just simply wasn't worth the effort.
My rating of writer and director Simuel Denell Rankins's 2009 movie "Jack Squad" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.
