Venom 3: Tom Hardy commemorates the start of production in new Instagram post
Image
After the new Kraven the Hunter trailer showed not solely the genesis of Kraven, but Rhino too, Sony is continuing their Spider-man villain-verse with the start of production on Venom 3. It was recently reported that two release dates had been reserved on the studio’s slate for two Spider-man related films. One of the dates was marked for November 8, 2024 and it was said that Sony is aiming for a release of Venom 3 for late 2024. And with that, Venom 3 has now kicked-off filming and the Eddie Brock actor, Tom Hardy, has posted a fun pic to his Instagram with a short cryptic caption to commemorate the occasion.

Tom Hardy’s Instagram posted a new photo of the actor messing with perspective with wall art of a mean-looking dog barking and Hardy is playfully screaming back at it. The only thing written in the post is “V3.”

In addition,...

James Corden’s Farewell Includes Duet With Tom Cruise and Parting Message to U.S.: ‘Remember What America Signifies’
Image
James Corden said farewell to CBS on Thursday evening by doing something no one ever thought would be possible: Getting Tom Cruise to sing Elton John’s hit ballad “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

After an opening “The Last Last Late Late Show with James Corden Carpool Karaoke Special” by singing “Last Show” (to the tune of “Last Dance”), and quick opening monologue, Corden switched to its heavily promoted final pre-tape with Cruise. As previously announced, the action star icon and the host joined a performance of “The Lion King” at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. The first part of the clip showed the two rehearsing and singing on stage in costume — but from there, the sketch turned into a bit of a farewell between the two.

As Corden played up his sadness at saying farewell to Cruise, the duo broke into the John song. Corden began: “Tom, I mean,...

James Corden Says Goodbye in Star-Filled Final ‘Late Late Show’: “It’s Time to Go Home”
Image
James Corden was joined by plenty of familiar faces, including some notable surprise guests, as he said goodbye to CBS’ The Late Late Show after eight years as host.

Corden’s last night as host of the late night series began Thursday with a primetime special that was followed by the final episode itself. Among the previously announced highlights of the special were a segment in which Corden and Tom Cruise appeared as Timon and Pumbaa, respectively, in a live performance of The Lion King at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre, and a final “Carpool Karaoke” segment with the host’s close friend Adele.

Fittingly, Corden began the special with a musical number as he sang his own lyrics to the tune of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.” Corden, who has announced that he and his family will leave L.A. to move back to London, sang such lines as, “Let...

Farewell, James Corden: How ‘The Late Late Show’ Host Said Goodbye To His CBS Show
Image
Spoiler Alert! This story contains details from James Corden’s primetime special and final installment of The Late Late Show on CBS.

So long, James Corden. The affable Brit who took over for Craig Ferguson in 2015 ended his eight-year run as host of CBS’ The Late Late Show on Thursday.

To help say goodbye to its late-night star, CBS set aside an hour in primetime for a pre-taped special that included video montages and candy-coated skits so Corden could show off his singing chops. First up: a musical number with Corden, who stood on top of the old Television City building to sing a rendition of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” — but in this case, it was changed to “Last Show.”

That was followed by a playful bit with Tom Cruise, who agreed to perform with Corden in a Hollywood staging of The Lion King. With Cruise as the warthog and Corden as the meerkat,...

Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Evil Dead Rise!Warner Bros. Discovery nearly released Evil Dead Rise exclusively on streaming, but moving it to theaters turned out to be an incredibly wise decision by the company. Much like Scream, Halloween, and The Exorcist in recent years, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead horror franchise finally received a long-awaited reboot with Evil Dead Rise, a standalone sequel that modernizes the horror, pays homage to the originals, and introduces its own unique twists on the lore. Receiving some of the best reviews of the franchise and a killer performance at the box office, Evil Dead Rise’s success offers Warner Bros. Discovery a promising future under writer-director Lee Cronin and star Lily Sullivan that may have been hindered by its original release plan.

Still at the height of the pandemic in a time of uncertainty for theatrical releases, Warner Bros. Discovery initially announced...

‘Air’ Writer Alex Convery on the Original Plan for Michael Jordan and Building Matt Damon’s Show-Stopping Monologue
Image
[This story contains spoilers for Air.]

Air is an underdog story about the time Nike pulled off the impossible by signing Chicago Bulls rookie Michael Jordan to an exclusive shoe deal, and the film’s screenwriter, Alex Convery, has also watched his own long-shot story play out in relatively similar fashion.

With Nike now being the No. 1 shoe manufacturer in the world, it’s difficult to imagine a time in which the industry titan was the doormat of the basketball shoe market, but Ben Affleck’s Air picks up at that place in 1984, as Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon) wants to bet the farm on Jordan, the Chicago Bulls’ third overall pick in the NBA Draft. The problem is that Jordan’s agent, David Falk (Chris Messina), has no interest in arranging a meeting with Nike, considering that Jordan’s heart was already set on Adidas, with Converse being a distant second.

So, in the film,...

Air: The True Story About Michael Jordan’s Deal The Movie Doesn’t Tell You
Image
Air tells the true story about Nike signing Michael Jordan and creating the Air Jordan, but a major part of the true story that the film doesn't detail would make audiences look at it totally differently. The biopic doesn't follow Jordan but Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon), who was instrumental in convincing Nike to put its entire $250,000 sponsorship budget into one basketball player, Michael Jordan, instead of spreading that cost across three lower-level players. Sonny delivers to Michael a touching five-minute monologue when they first, which convinces Michael and his family that he and Nike are a perfect match.

While it's almost impossible to accurately tell the true story given that so many different Nike employees have tried to take credit for Air Jordans and signing the basketball player, Air changes a lot about the true story. Whether it's how Sonny and Michael first met or how the $250,000 budget was really $2.5 million,...
