This donghua exceeded my expectations and hopes! The animation was high quality with wonderful costumes and fight scenes. The voice actors were amazing and captivating; they are the same voice actors from the audio drama of Thousand Autumns. Great decision on the part of the donghua team to keep them. The storyline was true to the source material with some minor changes to make the characters and their situations easier for a general audience to understand. These changes didn't take away from the beauty and complexity of the story and the characters.

Thousand Autumns is an example of a story where a "good" character is not defined by strength or intelligence. Although Shen Qiao is indeed a powerful character, it's not limited to physical ability. He is morally just and his greatest strength is that he stays true to himself and nothing can tempt him from going astray. I love how the other main character, Yan Wushi, is Shen Qiao's foil yet they respect each other's opinions. Both characters are very strong (mentally and physically) and won't hesitate to achieve their goals.

I usually do not like to watch movies or Tv shows, but a friend recommended this animation highly so I gave it a try! After watching the first few episodes, I was completely hooked with its beautiful 3D and story plot. Both main characters have their own "personality", especially YW. He is unpredictable and unforgiving, but at times his gentle side shows too. His flirtatious mannerisms are fun to watch. The story is definitely complex; human nature is rarely black and white, so I look forward to season 2!

Hands down the best donghua I've come across. From friendship to rivalry to love. Perfect example of how a good man cannot be uprooted no matter the circumstances in life. Animation is just perfect with the right amount of drama ....and clownery from the main characters.
