Chopped is always amazing. The show literally writes itself. With the judges of the highest caliber that this show is providing, again, it should have no chance of coming up short.
The new host, Liza, is AWFUL and has no business in a food show. She doesn't even make an attempt to learn anything about food or the ingredients or cooking styles. Why is she on this? She makes horrible jokes that no one likes or laughs at, creates terrible awkwardness, and she can't speak to the contestants about what they're doing due to lack of knowledge. The only thing she brings to the show is tension because nobody else on the show will talk to her or appreciates her presence.

What's the point of this show? The original "Chopped" has chefs of all ages, young included. You knew the host and the judges are more than qualified to be reviewing the chef's submissions. This is just "trying too hard" to be "cool" and comes across disingenuous. The host is beyond annoying, the judges are questionable. I don't see the point of this, there's nothing new here, there's nothing compelling or interesting. It is simply pushing this out for some pandering to a "new audience", but sorry, I don't think they'll get the audience they want this way. The pandering is too obvious, too cheap.
5 minutes into the first episode I knew I didn't like this show. The host is annoying. The whole 'Next-Gen' this and that gets old really quickly. The chefs are maybe a couple years younger than chefs on any other cooking show, so the 'Next-Gen' aspect is just a marketing gimmick to try and woo a specific demographic. Mostly though it's the host that makes ne want to turn it off.
This is a new version of the venerable Chopped. There have been many spin offs over the years including Chopped Sweets. I have enjoyed this so far, it's got to find it's best footing, but I like the fact that the show gives a voice to younger chefs, that sometimes do not get an opportunity otherwise to show their skills off!. I love the filming location, as well. It's wonderful to see an outdoor location, reminds me of the Chopped from a few seasons back where they filmed outdoors just before the pandemic.
