A lost occasion

Was it intended to be a prosecution of the success of Montalbano? If so it is not the case. Beautiful location, but finally always the same spot is shown: che sea from restaurant's table. Poor writing, few ideas, always going for the easy route in the investigation part and nothing significant in the comic part. Just a mixup of things with no cohesion, it seems like they were forced to put something together just to fill an empty space in television schedule. No comments on the actor's performance, always one or two "tones" above what needed.

Beautiful views of Sicily

I love the characters especially Savario and Pepe! Italians are such beautiful and loving people! It is unrealistic that a lovely couple as Savario and Sullamena could invite an ex boyfriend of Sullamena to live with them. I know there is an age gap but respectful couples do not openly invite exes to live with them. Savario is way too handsome and a good person to treat this way. Also, for as many murders that Savario solves, he is not invited to the police department as a consultant to receive any pay. Additionally, for such lovely people, there are so many murders that happen too frequently.

Sometimes, Suleima looks at Savario without love. Also she lives a separate life from him and doesn't consider his feelings. I don't think she is a good fit for the show.

Great show!

I think the team behind this TV show really created a well-balanced cocktail of elements that are in harmony with each other. The screenplay and the plots in a detective story style deal with very varied themes and not even as obvious as is generally the case. The direction does its duty by certainly exploiting the sublime Sicilian locations but also creating the right suspense in the scenes related to the detective track. But the element that the direction renders well and that an amazingly close-knit cast brings out in a disruptive way is a profoundly Sicilian irony, thanks to a perfect scenic rhythm and some really hilarious gimmicks. The character who serves as the deus ex machina of irony on stage is certainly Piccionello, who, however, would not render in any way if it were not for the talented protagonist (Claudio Gioè) Salvatore Lamanna and the charming Suleima (Ester Pantano). I preferred this series to the most famous one about Inspector Montalbano because irony reigns supreme here, although there are stories that are also full of pathos and moving. And the choice of irony wins out over the sometimes too gloomy atmosphere of Montalbano's stories.

An Intelligent Mystery

Beautiful locations, interesting characters, historical references and quotes, who wouldn't love this? It's truly a philosophical take on life, love and murder.

The geographical references are accurate and engaging. And it's even interspersed with humor throughout. I found it amusing that he drives a politically incorrect car. And the actor who plays his windowed father is particularly attractive. The female actors are gorgeous too, even the older ones. It's refreshing to see the elderly portrayed as intelligent attractive people. But that's just a small part of the intrigue. Watch it, give it a chance. It will leave you thinking.
