Image
Everyone’s favorite homicidal doll, M3GAN, is back for another outing, and nobody’s more excited about it than Gerard Johnstone. The director, who helmed the mega-viral 2022 campy horror hit “M3GAN,” returns for its hotly-anticipated sequel, the aptly-titled “M3GAN 2.0.”

The film sees returning stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reluctantly teaming with M3GAN to save the world from an advanced military bot, the bombshell Amelia.

The pressure was on when it came to bringing the meme queen back to the big screen: Johnstone says he felt an “obligation” to live up to fan expectations for the Universal and Blumhouse sequel, due out this Friday. “She was so well loved by everyone,” he says. “And that first film was just such a surprise, we just wanted to make sure that we delivered a sequel that was worthy of the character and a suitable reaction to the response from the world,...

‘M3GAN’ Is More Than a Toy; She’s Now a Monster High Skullector Doll
Mattel has been turning various horror icons into Monster High dolls as part of their collector-geared “Skullector” line, and dancing queen M3GAN is joining the lineup.

The official Monster High doll launches June 11, 2025, at 9am Pt, through the Mattel Creations online shop, and the limited edition collector’s item will be selling for $65.

Mattel previews, “Warning: M3GAN is no ordinary doll. She is apex artificial intelligence … or, in her case, artificial malevolence. Attempts to alter her code were in vain. Though she may look sweet and toy-like, she will go to any lengths necessary to maximize her objective function. She possesses myriad emergent capabilities that The Company has yet to discover, as well as a mocking attitude that suggests she’s become self-aware. Do not activate M3GAN under any circumstances.”

Here are some key features for the doll…

Mattel's 'Monster High' Movie Taps 'M3GAN' Director Gerard Johnstone
Image
M3GANand M3GAN 2.0director Gerard Johnstone isn't done with dolls yet. He has signed on to helm the live-action Monster High film from Mattel, Universal Pictures, and Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road. The life-like A.I. doll at the center of his cult horror franchise has a few things in common with the toy line that will be brought to life in his next picture: they're both companions for children, they both have an eye for fashion, and they're definitely monstrous (though one is a little more murderous), so the project is certainly in safe hands.

According to Variety, the Monster High film will feature an original story based on Mattel's popular range of dolls that come in a variety of designs and characters imagined as the teenage children of monsters and mythical creatures. The frightfully fashionable figures are quite far removed from those living in the plastic, fantastic world of Barbie Land,...

How To Watch The Monster High Movies In Order — By Release Date & Chronologically
Image
The Monster High movies offer a spooky alternate take on the high school drama of many Nickelodeon TV show and film franchises. Originally released in conjunction with Mattel to promote the line of dolls of the same name, the Monster High films have accrued a devoted fanbase since they first arrived in 2010. With 17 Monster High movies available, fans have a wide range of stories to choose from, all of which come with an Addams Family-like horror-flavored twist on many common teen drama tropes.

Continuity isn't hugely important with the Monster High movies, especially since the franchise has gone through several reinventions. The adventures of Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculaura, and the other Monster High students have come a long way since their 2D cartoon beginnings in 2010. The franchise has reinvented itself multiple times, jumping through different styles of CGI and even into live-action. With a new Monster High movie in development from Universal Studios,...

‘Seinfeld’s Wayne Knight Says Weight Loss Tanked His Career
Image
TMZ caught up with Wayne Knight — Seinfeld’s Newman — at an airport recently, but it’s an interaction that almost didn’t happen. Why not? The site’s intrepid reporter almost didn’t recognize Knight thanks to his significant weight loss. “From about Jurassic Park to now,” Knight revealed, he’s lost about 110 pounds.

That’s great for Knight’s health, but not necessarily fantastic for his career. When asked if his weight loss was affecting his career in a good way or a bad way, Knight candidly replied, “In a bad way. But it takes time for people to accept you as you are. Then they find out whether or not you can still do things without being fat.”

Knight joked that he’d lost about 7,000 pounds over the years — just not all at once. “I lose 10, I gain 50,” he explained. “I lose 100, I gain 12.”

However you do the math,...

Every Monster High Movie and How to Watch Them in Order
Image
Monster High is a multimedia franchise that got off to a flying start, releasing six dolls, a novel, and a web series in 2010. The concept of fashionable high school girls who were daughters of popular monsters and creatures blew up in popularity, and over the last decade, there have been no less than 750 dolls, 60 novels, 9 video games, a new CGI animated series on Nickelodeon; and of course, 17 Monster High movies (each with a pun-based title), including a third-generation reboot featuring live-action actors.

Like several franchises, Monster High has rebooted itself a few times. As a result, there are technically a few films that could be considered origin stories. The ideal order of Monster High movies would be to watch the true prequel Welcome to Monster High, followed by the recent Monster High: The Movie, and then the web series. After this, it doesn't generally matter, as the movies are usually stand-alone stories.
