The third show of the stage play adaptation of Koji Yanagi's spy mystery novel series Joker Game is set to return in November 2025. It will have been seven years and five months since the previous second show in June 2018. The gambling-themed manga series Kakegurui created by Homura Kawamoto (story) and Toru Naomura (art) will receive a stage play adaptation in Tokyo in September 2025. Moeko Kanisawa , a member of the Japanese idol group ≠Me (Not Equal Me) is cast as the protagonist, Yumeko Jabami. Kanisawa previously played the role of Harukaze Doremi, one of the main characters in the Ojamajo Doremi stage play performed by the members of the group in 2022, but this will be the first stage play in which she will play the lead role alone. One day before the start of the show in Tokyo, the Blue Miburo stage play adaptation, based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda's historical manga, released a three-minute opening footage on Weekly Shonen Magazine's official YouTube channel . The official website and X (formerly Twitter) for the upcoming Blue Miburo stage play adaptation, based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda's historical manga, posted a new key visual that features the seven main cast members, including Kosei Tsubokura (Jun Wakasa in UniteUp! ) as the protagonist, Chirinu Nio. The hit animated anthology series, Star Wars: Visions, is returning to Disney+ in 2025. The recently announced Star Wars: Visions, Season 3 will return to the format of Season 1, with an assortment of Japanese animation studios assembling to produce a collection of Star Wars anime shorts. While the first season of Star Wars: Visions was purely an anime anthology, Season 2 featured animation studios from all around the world, creating episodes in a variety of styles. Season 3 will welcome back four of the anime studios that worked on Season 1, as well as five new studios.

The Japanese studios working on Star Wars: Visions' first season were given free reign to reinterpret the Star Wars galaxy for the non-canon anthology and many brought the franchise back to its Japanese inspirations. When he created Star Wars, George Lucas drew upon myriad influences, including old Flash Gordon serials, his studies of mythology, war movies and Westerns.

Despite its overwhelming impact on the battle shonen genre, the Bleach manga and anime series have been considered very divisive. At one point, the series used to be incredibly popular — between 2001 and 2016, the manga sold over 120 million copies. However, Tite Kubo brought his spiritual samurai story to an abrupt end, leaving countless narrative threads untied.

Although viewers were more upset about the anime's cancelation right before the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, the fandom was delighted to hear that Bleach's final saga was finally getting its much-deserved adaptation. Updated on May 5th, 2023 by Ajay Aravind: Although a shonen powerhouse, Tite Kubo's Bleach can hardly be described as one-of-a-kind. On the contrary, there are several anime series with similar core concepts, themes, backstories, and even fight sequences.

A couple of days ago it was officially announced that Scarlett Johansson would take on the lead role in the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. There were a lot of mixed reactions from fans regarding the casting, but hopefully the movie turns out better than we expect. Luckily for hardcore fans, this isn't the only new Ghost in the Shell film coming. Later this year we will get a new anime movie, and today we bring you the first teaser trailer for it! 

We don't have any story details for you yet, but the film does feature the voice cast from Ghost In The Shell: Arise, which consists of Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai, and Miyuki Sawashiro.

Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell Arise chief director) will serve as chief director at Project I.G., and will also design the characters.

North American anime distributor Funimation has streamed the entire Sengoku Basara: The Last Party film with its English dub on Friday, and the stream was, unfortunately, available for this weekend only.

The stream promotes Funimation’s Blu-ray/DVD combo release of the 2011 film on November 6th, 2012 – which is on Tuesday – so you won’t have to wait too long to see it, in case you’ve missed the streaming.

The feature film was announced in 2010 after the final Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings 2 television episode, and it opened in Japan in June of 2011. Sengoku Basara: The Last Party continues the story after the fall of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, as Japan plunges into chaos and subordinate Ishida Mitsunari looks to seek revenge against Date Masamune and features the voices of Sôichiro Hoshi, Kazuya Nakai and Tôru Ôkawa.

Funimation has previously released both Sengoku Basara television series in North America.
