I had never heard about this 2021 Portuguese action crime comedy from writers Vitor Brandt and Denis Nielsen prior to now in 2022 as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it. I wasn't sure what I was in for, but I have to say that the movie's synopsis definitely sounded like this movie could be entertaining.
And I will say that director Vitor Brandt managed to deliver not only an entertaining movie, but also a very enjoyable and funny movie here with "Cabras da Peste" (aka "Get the Goat"). I was genuinely entertained by the storyline and the comedy throughout the course of the 97 minutes that the movie ran for. A good amount of laughs to be enjoyed here, in addition to an actually nice storyline and colorful characters.
"Cabras da Peste" definitely felt like something in the likes of "Beverly Hills Cop", heck it even had the music as well, as well as movies such as "Tango & Cash" and "Rush Hour". So if you enjoyed action movies of that type, laced with comedy, then you will also like "Cabras da Peste".
The character gallery in "Cabras da Peste" was good, and very nicely detailed and written. I loved the name of Edmilson Filho's character, which was Bruceuilis, as well as the names of his family members. That was just hilarious.
"Cabras da Peste" is quite enjoyable, and if you get the chance to watch it, I say go for it, because it was well-worth the time and effort.
My rating of "Cabras da Peste" lands on a six out of ten stars.

Very funny parody of American police films, where Edmilson Filho manages to make a great mix of Renato Aragão with Jackie Chan. The mood ranges from the innocent to the sophisticated, with great jokes and great balances, always keeping laughter in high frequency.
The rest of the cast gets into the mood very well, from the famous to the unknown, with emphasis on the always great Matheus Nachtergale, perfect in the one-two with Edmislon, and Falcão showing enormous talent and presence on the scene.
The direction is great, fluid, competent in humor and great action scenes for national cinema. The fighting choreographies, obviously inspired by Jackie Chan's films, are surprising for their quality, with agility, humor and great editing.
The national version of the classic song of "Beverly Hills Cop", "The Heat Is On", was fantastic. Full of quotes from stars and action films from the 80s and 90s, the film is delicious.
It has countless hilarious and clever scenes, something rare in national comedies. The scene where Edmilson and Matheus need to pretend to be a gay couple to enter an event is sensational, without appeals or extremisms, showing the immense talent of the two actors. The scene in which Edmilson discovers that the Chinese restaurant only has Northeasterners is a great idea.
Every technical part is excellent, with a few minor slips in the sound. Great national comedy that stands out from the no-brainer and repetitive comedies that multiply in Brazil, even from Leandro Hassun, who after he lost weight and wanted to become a dramatic actor, melted the broth. Edmilson Filho is a great heir to the innocent and fun humor of "Os Trapalhões", but with his own personality.
A parody of a zillion Hollywood buddy cop movies, with many Brazilian references that I find almost impossible to understand if you don't know the culture.
Ex. The song sung at the funeral is funny in itself because its original version is very happy and seen in this context is ridiculously hilarious.
What is your take on silly? Because this is as silly as things get! Also if you are fluent in portuguese it might come in handy. Getting all the jokes first hand, rather than translated either by dub or subtitles ... surely that is fine too, but maybe not for everyone. Same goes for the comedy - some will like it, some others will not at all.
They say do not work with animals and children, but when you have a goat in the title .. you have to have him/her in the movie sometime ... that aside, this is more of buddy comedy thing, with fallouts and all the other cliches and predictable things that come along with that. Still this is enjoyable if you let it be.

A crazy Brazilian comedy, half parody, half buddy movie, full of references from American films.
A bit heavy for my taste but can be seen without the fuss.
