Guido Rud’s FilmSharks International has snagged worldwide sales and remake rights to the Spanish movie spinoff of wildly popular French fictional comedy TV series, “Camera Café,” where a camera planted in a coffee machine captures the shenanigans and gossip chatter among office workers.
“Camera Café: La Pelicula” (“Camera Café” The Movie”) is an Atresmedia Cine, Estela Films and Warner Bros. co-production with the participation of Movistar Plus, which pre-bought Spanish pay TV rights. The comedy is the directorial debut of actor-writer-humorist Ernesto Sevilla (“Torrente 4”) and is also the feature debut of the film’s writer Raul Cimas, who has co-penned some Paramount Comedy Channel series with Sevilla.
The movie takes place in a dysfunctional office ten years after an economic crisis devastated the workplace where the most skilled people were fired. The least competent workers remain in charge and they will stop at nothing to keep their jobs.

Ah, Torrente. The Spanish cult icon, created and played by Santiago Segura, has gathered a following from around the world -- including filmmaker / contrarian Oliver Stone -- with his comic antics, but is largely unknown in the U.S. Doppelgänger Releasing aims to change that by making all four films featuring the character available for home viewing. From their official statement: The quartet of movies in the Torrente Package -- Torrente: The Dumb Arm of the Law (1998), Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella (2001), Torrente 3: The Protector (2005), and Torrente 4: Lethal Crisis (2011) -- are each written and directed by Segura, who also stars as the repulsive, sleazy and frequently drunk "Torrente." From the visionary fimmaker of 28 Weeks Later comes a creepy little film called Intruders. This one looks right up our alley and releases in March. Check out the trailer under the official details.
Though no one can see him, Hollow Face lurks in the corners, desperately desiring love but only knowing how to spread fear and hate. He creeps into the life of John Farrow (Clive Owen) after Farrow’s beloved 13-year-old daughter Mia (Ella Purnell) is assaulted in their home. The line between the real and the imaginary blurs as fissures start to open within the family unit. It seems that no security measure can keep Hollow Face out.

Such a dilemma. Run for your lives or stay with the girl of your dreams? Arsenico Producciones and Sayaka Producciones Audiovisuales released the teaser trailer for the science-fiction romance film “ExtraTerrestre.” Here is a synopsis: Everyone knows what to do if one morning the sky would be absolutely full of UFOs: run as fast as you can. However, what would happen if the invasion started while you are in the flat of the girl of your dreams, the one you have just met? The film stars Michelle Jenner (“Spanish Movie,” “Faust”), Carlos Areces (“Torrente 4,” “Museo Coconut”) and Julian Villagran (“La Cebra,” “El Sindrome de Ulises”). The film is helmed by Spanish short film director Nacho Vigalondo. His last feature film was with 2007’s “Timecrimes.” “Extraterrestre” is making its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and Austin’s Fantastic Fest. It will be released in Spain later this year.

Empire has premiered the first teaser trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Intruders today. The movie is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intact) and stars Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice van Houten, Ella Purnell and Kerry Fox. The film’s story centers on an 11-year-old girl who is forced to confront childhood demons. The English-language project is a American, British and Spanish co-production and was shot in London and Madrid last summer. Among the film’s producers is Belen Atienza (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Orphonage, Che) who previously produced the Viggo Mortensen-starring adventure biopic Alatriste, which Banos scored back in 2006. Intruders is set for a release on October 7, 2011 in the UK and Spain and a domestic release is expected around the same time.
