I can see where Indians might not appreciate the story but I found it very humorous and well told. I like all the characters and the story line. It may have been a tad unrealistic but I enjoyed it anyway.
This is the second Indian series I've recently watched and both were superior to American comedies. Keep up the good work.

The series is really really entertaining! Just a about a time but it's a different kind of a story. Well carted and realized. Few Parts may not be convincing and real but if you keep them at the side then you will really like it a lot.
Madhav an is at his best as usual so as Surveen Chawla as she looks stunning throughout. Hope we should be able to see the next season soon.

Indian content has been fallacy for Netflix .....with some pathetic series..movies......but this seems to be on verge of being a true masterpiece...... timing...content..acting..... execution.......direction and editing......Madhavan and Surveen....a great chemistry.....a Frank opinion as watched a episode or 2 in hindi........maybe the hindi translation doesn't do justice to the series....

Fresh piece of content that's humorous all throughout.. The concept is pretty unique and so was the screenplay and the opening credits before each episode.. Its plain and simple. Nothing heroic or grand. Maddy once again showed that he can easily slip into the shoes of any character and Surveen chawla was actually at par with madhavan all the way.. Few scenes were absolutely rib tickling.. Thoroughly enjoyable.. Great for Binge watchers.

What a lovely surprise! This series all about Mad and Surveen. Superb piece of acting. Easy romance and fun. Totally loved it. Madhavan is a standalone perfect quality actor. He has shown this yet again.

Very well scripted. Seeing R Madhavan in a very different role. Surveen Chawla is savage! Again the script. But the show reminds me of Curb Your Enthusiasm - Indian style.

Now this what can be called brilliant script writing and not one that plainly drags a series. Every minute of the limited series comes up with something new and refreshing. The characters are real(from today's Gurgaon), well the Gold Course road area has an amazing and crazy mad crowd which I used to love when living there! The place has only got better it seems. This series deserves an applaud for its unique characters and the storyline. Finished binge watching in two sittings over two days! Hats off to the producer, director and the lovely cast.
This is....a very different show, surely different for an Indian show. And just like anything that's different from the norm, this show has also gotten people divided.
Gist of the story: The lead couple have fallen out of love but are best friends; they're gonna get a divorce but will live in the same house for the sake of their child. - This plot, in a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" kinda show.
You can already tell this isn't for everyone in the general Indian audience. You're either going to hate it because you don't get it, or because you get and it's the kinda social commentary that doesn't align with your views, or you'll find it refreshing because you've not come across shows like these on Indian Tv.
I fall into the 3rd category but that said, the show worked for me in parts, and was an overkill in other parts sometimes. I loved the chemistry between and the story about the lead, but it felt like that didn't get enough time. The show's far from perfect, but it's something new and the vitriol undeserved.
Also, it's got 8 eps, with ~28 mins each. So, it's a quick watch. Fits the tone of the content. Anything more would have been jarring.

Finally a good Indian family drama by Netflix.
This is an amazingly funny, light-hearted drama with some fresh takes on marriage.
I have not laughed alone in a long time. I mean it. And this made me laugh hard so many times!
All the characters are good and is symptomatic of a good story.
I just wish there were more scenes of Maddy with Chetan. Their chemistry, or rather anti-chemistry, is so cool!

This isn't "witty".
It's trying and failing hard to be so.
There are multiple reviews which love the "refreshing honesty" when the reality is, the 'Arya' character is a senseless, arrogant jerk and unfortunately I see why many would jump on board and love the show. They see their own reflection.
I wish instead of putting a mirror to the society, the characters spent time taking a hard look at their own flaws, for there are many.
Aim higher Netflix.
A guru who keeps having sex. Yawn.
You've done that before.
A jerk as a lead character who's based on the writer / director's own unflattering personality. A narcissistic ego boost.
Women characters who are never happy, sure.
With the men around them, who can blame them?

Such Wrong reviews of mainstream media. The screenplay is more killing than the actors. If you are looking for low level comedy turn on TV at prime time. This is serious comedy acted well. Just 4episodes and I am writing review.
When watching comedy , keep your ethics aside.

I can see why some folks may find it difficult to accept the storyline. It's unconventional. But it's clever, funny, well made and engaging. Enjoyed it!
All the main characters carried their parts excellently. Looking fwd another season!

Finished my first episode liked it will watch all. Deshdrohi, "Anti national" was too good. Sadly it's very common today to be a social media patriotic, "hamare jawan border pe hai". Since last few years this is getting to my nerve after watching Madhavan sarcastic take on it I feel so relieved as if some one is expressing my views. Huge population of my country today seems to be infected by this fake patriotism today, I should credit to the writer too for his observance. Madhavan seems to be getting younger day by day. Will surely recommend.
R Madhavan is pulling a Larry David. Its great though no problem with that. I'd say its an Indian version of the Curb with a focus on married life.
Some parts are genuinely funny and relatable so overall I do not feel so bad about it being a copy.
Surveen and R. Madhavan are both doing a great job. Lovely acting and refreshing script.

Really enjoyed the show.. Yes there are problems in the Screenplay.. It somehow gets messed up in the later episodes.. But this is an uncommon territory of humour that i can hardly remember any other indian tv show offered till date. It touches " sensitive " topics what most of the creators purposefully avoid for the sake of being "politically correct". But here the politically incorrect jokes land and that too in such a precision that it does not offend ( atleast it seems so) even a ' hypersensitive audience like ours. The acting espeically by R Madhaban is brilliant. It definitely deserves a watch..

Web series review: Decoupled streaming on Netflix
#sanjuzzreviews
Decoupled is a satirical take on the institution of marriage and it's effects on two perfectly normal individuals once they fall out of love.
If you haven't seen it already, you may think that it might be a serious, dull, boring & preachy kind of a series. This is where you r absolutely wrong. It is exactly the opposite & entertaining to the core.
R. Madhavan plays the 2nd best selling author ( Arya) with Surveen Chavla playing his gorgeous investment banker wife (Shruti).
The series depicts their decoupling journey (getting a divorce) which is not without its fair share of dark humor, naughtiness & amorous adventures 😁.
Both protagonists are brilliant and their "un-chemistry" is something to watch out for. Hilarious incidents happen in every episode and invoke a lot of genuine laughter. Definitely pet pakad ke hasoge aap log 😂😂. Great cameo by Chetan Bhagat is also something to watch out for.
Everything works well for this series, except for the fact that it ends abruptly. Perhaps by design , to make way for a 2nd season.
Wud love to see many more seasons of this wonderful "Decoupled Couple"
Watch it.. highly recommended!!!
4/5 for this one .. adios 🙂

Series: Decoupled
Season: 1
Episodes: 8
Duration: 25-35 minutes long
"Decoupled" is a comedy-drama series that was released last month on Netflix, starring R. Madhavan, Surveen Chawla, Chetan Bhagat, and Mir Afsar Ali. The plot revolves around the marriage relationship problems between a misanthropic pulp fiction writer and a successful businesswoman.
The writing is very witty. The series showcases some of the daily life issues and thoughts in a very sarcastic and funny way. Madhavan and Surveen gave their best. But, in my personal opinion, Mir truly deserves a far better character than this.
The storyline portrayed the Richie-Rich culture of Gurgaon. There were many moments, I failed to connect myself with the characters and the plot. Otherwise, it was full-on entertainment. The humor was on point every time.
If you are looking for something light-hearted, then you should watch "Decoupled". It is a short series, so you can even binge-watch it. To my opinion, this series is good for a one-time watch.

Had really high expectation for the series, came out with a total disappointment. The story was supposed to be about a couple separating but the writers went rogue with script... And the dialogues were unfunny, calling a woman complicated or unsatisfied with everything ain't funny anymore, calling someone ugly or bodyshaming ain't cool, I waited for it to get better, never getting back the time I lost. It has so much sexist remarks wouldn't call it humor. Netflix's standard is getting so low day by day...

When I turned on this show, I expected a predictable, boring, sitcom pitched show that would be no more use than a cheap white noise machine but the concept, the comedic timing, the writing, the direction, it blew me away. After call my agent, I had no expectations whatsoever but this show was something completely else. I expected to watch 20 minutes before calling it a night but here I am binging the 8th episode writing this review. This is easily the best comedy/drama web series ever made period.
