They took everything funny, clever and unique about the original movie to make a longer and painful to watch movie made for young kids. With unnecessary side characters with stories so easy to predict, cliché after clichés. A movie that will probably be forgotten within a couple of years, while the original will forever be a classic.
I strongly recommend avoiding this movie. Save yourself a completly bland, basic and painfully unfunny remake. With good actors casting in completly wrong roles. Its truly sad to se all what makes the original a classic watered down and dumbed down. Is this really what swedish media think kids will enjoy? Be smarter.

This movie, about a tale of a boy from a wealthy family who during his work at the post office steals Christmas gifts from the wealthy to give to the poor people of Stockholm, is a great comedy movie!
It's a well done adaptation of the original story about the protagonist Karl-Bertil Jonsson's Christmas where the fantastic directing by director Hannes Holm easily makes the movie both funny, engaging and heartwarming. The movie also has talented actors who strengthen their characters' storylines, and the technical aspects are surprisingly impressive where especially the cinematography, lighting and production design give the movie a very nice touch, visually. The great score by composer Gaute Storaas sets a beautiful atmosphere that also is the cherry on the top of the cake, and all the elements together make the movie to a very appropriate Christmas experience.
