There weren’t a lot of animated films released this year that blew me away so it was fairly easy for me to come up with my top 5 list of my favorite animated movies of 2010. Check out my list below and let me know what you think. What were some of you favorite animated films of this year?

1. How To Train Your Dragon

This was by far the best and most entertaining animated movie of the year, and I was shocked that it came out of DreamWorks Animation because their films usually end up being disappointing. This movie was just flat out awesome though.

Two more clips from Starz Media's animated companion piece to the upcoming EA video game adaptation of the classic tale Dante's Inferno came up from the depths today, and we have them for you all hellish and filled with torture.

Film Roman's Joe Goyette (Dead Space: Downfall) is the producer on the project, which Victor Cook (Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron) is directing and Brandon Auman (Iron Man: Armored Adventures) is writing.

"The animated feature will be a great companion piece to the game," said Jonathan Knight, executive producer and creative director for Dante's Inferno. "The feature will explore aspects of the poem that the game does not and will provide more insight into the characters and the unique story adaptation that the game has established."

Electronic Arts and Starz Media are joining forces to produce an animated DVD feature based on Dante's Inferno, the videogame that arrives next year. Universal is currently developing a big screen live action flick based on the same game. Inferno will mirror the game's plot and follow Dante's journey through the nine circles of Hell -- limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery -- in search of his true love, Beatrice. Both are based on part one of Dante's classic poem The Divine Comedy, better known as Dante's Inferno. Victor Cook (The Spectacular Spider-Man, Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron) is directing and Brandon Auman (Iron Man: Armored Adventures) is writing. Film Roman, a subsidiary of Starz, will produce the movie, as it did with Dead Space: Downfall, which was distributed by Starz in the fall and was tied to the release of EA's high-profile sci-fi horror video game Dead Space.
