Seriously, what a waste of time!? Lionsgate used to be a sign of quality. This is so sad that its making low budget cheap movies. Though there are some good actors, the productions is so bad.
The Amityville Moon has little to do with the Amityville series except for possibly taking place in that town though we don't see the house or anything nor are there any cursed/haunted objects from it. It's about a halfway house for ex-drug addict junkies with a werewolf stalking and killing them. Much of the film is about these former needle-freaks and seeing as I don't understand addiction nor do I have any empathy these parts fell flat on me. Some nudity or lesbian shenanigans would have livened the movie up. Apparently this is made by some religious nut who is okay with mild swearing but has his tough biker guys say "freakin" and "screw". The acting is intensely mediocre especially that of the main girl. The whole film is shot in a drab and colorless way. There's some bloody werewolf attacks including a woman who has her face clawed off. The werewolf transformation scene is pretty good though nowhere near Baker/Bottin level but at least it was all practical FX. The werewolf suit is pretty good as well though shown sparingly. The sadly too brief werewolf scenes save this from being completely dull. Another very mediocre Walmart horror to add to the pile.
Well, granted, this 2021 horror movie's cover/poster was actually interesting enough to make me sit down and watch it. And yeah, I was somewhat hesitant, or even skeptical, about watching it, given the fact that the movie had the word "Amityville" in its title. It isn't exactly like movies with that name in the title are known for their great entertainment value.
But still, the movie should be given a fair chance, so I sat down and watched it. And as I had anticipated, then writer and director Thomas J. Churchill just didn't manage to deliver a wholesome movie here. So the curse of the "Amityville" titled movies continues on.
Was "The Amityville Moon" watchable? Sure, but it wasn't a particularly grand or memorable foray into the horror genre. And for this being a werewolf movie, then it was a very weak attempt at a jab at the werewolf sub-genre of horror. At least if there had been more scenes with the actual werewolf, then perhaps "The Amityville Moon" would have been more enjoyable.
The pacing of "The Amityville Moon" was slow and tedious, without much of anything interesting actually happening. So it was a rather dull and monotonous movie experience. And I have to admit that I ended up giving up on finishing the movie without about 20 minutes left, give or take. Yup, the ordeal was that tedious.
The acting in the movie was adequate. You will not be in for any great or memorable acting performances here, nor will you be in for a grand cast ensemble. But in all fairness, then the actors and actresses did an okay job with the limited material they had to work with.
My rating of "The Amityville Moon" lands on a mere three out of ten stars.

It was decent movie. I definitely seen a lot worse. The story was pretty good but you really don't find out till the end.
The werewolf was fairly decent as far as makeup again there are much worse portrayals of werewolves in some of the movies out there.

I'm a huge fan of werewolf movies and if they have a low budget then I honestly don't mind how bad the effects are. The werewolf in this was actually ok but the film was so dark that you could barely see anything.
The story really let this down and it dragged until I couldn't care less what happened to any of the characters.
Not one to recommend I'm afraid and best avoided.
If you haven't seen it then Late Phases is a way better werewolf movies.
