What's the only thing worse than a sequel? The only prospect worse than paying £10 at your local cinema to have your favourite movie ruined, forever. The answer has three words. Straight-to-video.
In the '90s, home release sequels became fairly common. You'd greet them with surprise at your local Blockbusters and then want to pull your eyeballs out when you took them home and watched them. They're probably called straight-to-dvd or straight-to-Blu-ray now, but they still exist.
With the announcement that Dolph Lundgren will be starring in Kindergarten Cop 2 (because of course), here are 21 absolute stinking sequels - the vast majority of which weren't even considered good enough for the cinema. How many of them have you watched?
1. American Pie Presents: Band Camp
2. American Pie Presents: Beta House
Maybe it's the Eugene Levy factor - just why did he keep starring in all the sequels?! - but we have weird...

In June, it was widely reported that Universal is set to reboot Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 action comedy hit Kindergarten Cop. Though, the muscles from Brussels wouldn't be participating in any way. Now we have confirmation that this will actually be a sequel, tentatively titled Kindergarten Cop 2. And guess what? It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger's Expendables co-star Dolph Lundgren! Don't believe us? We have the first look at the action legend on set.
Maybe Kindergarten Cop 2 with Dolph Lundgren sounds so ridiculous that you can't fathom such a thing. But 90s nostalgia is in full-force, and while a Kindergarten Cop 2 might not be worthy of a big screen release, enough kids who are now adults remember it, and will probably give it a change once it hits home video in 2016. At this time, there is no confirmed release date. But we may see the first trailer around Christmas time.

Thanks to her sitcom's success, Beth Behrs hardly is broke.
She and Kat Dennings are two of television's most recognizable actresses as the stars of "2 Broke Girls," Mondays on CBS, to the degree they were enlisted as hosts of the network's telecast of the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards recently. (Their series had two nominations, after winning favorite new TV comedy honors its first year.)
In the show's third season, which has seen it return to its original slot after a move to a later time, the lively Behrs still feels good about the weekly misadventures of waitresses, roommates and cupcake-selling entrepreneurs Caroline and Max. "We got shifted around, but I think it's all working out from what I can tell," Behrs, aka "Caroline," tells Zap2it.
The show also has opened up to include a pastry school plot involving recurring guest stars Gilles Marini and Mary-Lynn Rajskub ("24"). "It's so new for Max and Caroline,...

Chicago – CBS’s “2 Broke Girls,” which recently had its first season released on Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of Warner Bros., isn’t about to break the mold of TV comedy. There are some sitcoms that try something new and there are others that merely fit a pattern. There’s nothing wrong with that. We’ve had buddy comedies since they started making sitcoms and while “2 Broke Girls” may be little more than a “Laverne & Shirley” update, it is well-done enough to make its familiarity easy to overlook.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The greatest strength of “2 Broke Girls” comes from its two stars, particularly Beth Behrs, who has criminally underrated comic timing. She’s very good here. And while Kat Dennings started off a little rocky at the beginning of the first season, she develops a strong rapport with Behrs. Watching these two riff off each other is easily the reason the show has developed a pretty loyal following.

Numbered lists are nothing new to WhatCulture but never has the job of putting together one been so pleasurable for us. Spending the past weekend as valuably as any other, we drew up a list of those beautiful ladies of contemporary pop culture who are undeniably talented and hot but who don’t (usually) hog the spotlight or make it onto the Top sexy lists of FHM or others.
The task we set ourselves… to highlight the 50 sexiest woman whose faces you’ve ever never seen or if you have been fortunate enough to be previously acquainted, you’ve not forgotten them. Even if you can’t quite remember their name.
You’ll enjoy this list. It’s an eye-catcher…
50: Beth Behrs
One half of the waitresses at CBS’ uber popular show Two Broke Girls, Beth Behrs is one of the sexiest blondes on TV but she so nearly wasn’t.

New TV comedy 2 Broke Girls averaged more than 11 million viewers weekly in its debut season, as well as earning the No. 1 spot for new series among adults 18 to 49 and No. 1 new comedy for all viewers. Not bad for a sitcom about two girls waiting tables in Brooklyn.
The TV show stars Kat Dennings (Daydream Nation) and Beth Behrs (American Pie Presents: The Book of Love) as the titular two broke girls, who are, respectively, street-smart and blue collar born and book smart and nouveau bankrupt. The unlikely roommates are working at the Brooklyn diner while saving the startup money they need to launch a cupcake business. Along the way, their saucy humor and blossoming friendship help them deal with relationship and fundraising issues.

This weekend’s premiere of Jersey Shore Shark Attack begins the first of four straight weeks of new Syfy creature features. We now have our first look at what to expect three Saturdays from now when New Orleans is under siege by huge albino spiders unleashed by an Arachnoquake.
Swamp Shark director Griff Furst unleashes a new terror on Southern Louisiana in this Syfy original from writers Paul A. Birkett (Altitude) and Eric Forsberg (Mega Piranha). It’s up to Tracey Gold (“Growing Pains”), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Ethan Philips (“Star Trek: Voyager”), and the appropriately named Bug Hall (American Pie Presents: The Book of Love) to save the Big Easy from a horde of over-sized albino spiders set loose from their underground lair by an earthquake.

I never watch a trailer until after I’ve seen the movie, and I also attempt to avoid as much news as possible. Then I compare what I knew, to what you knew. Let’s find out if what we see in the trailer is what we get, and if there is any advantage to going in fresh. (There will be spoilers.) What I Knew Before: I knew these guys. I liked these guys. Did I need a reunion? I knew the whole gang was back together again, which is clearly the appeal to this sequel. You see, there have been seven Pies. American Pie, American Pie 2 and American Wedding were in theaters. American Pie Presents: Band Camp, American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile, American Pie Presents: Beta House, American Pie Presents: The Book of Love were straight to DVD. Getting the gang back...

Where you've seen her: A 2008 graduate of UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television, Behrs has appeared in "American Pie Presents: The Book of Love" and guest-starred on "Castle" and "NCIS: Los Angeles." However, she says it was the Funny or Die videos she and a friend from UCLA made that helped her land the role in CBS's "2 Broke Girls." "I know the casting director saw those before I went in," she says, referring to Julie Ashton. "Nowadays you have to create your own content. Know who you are as an actor, what your type is, and what you're good at, and then get friends together and create. Those videos gave me a lot of opportunities."Now playing: Behrs stars with Kat Dennings ("Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," "Thor") in "2 Broke Girls," a sitcom created by Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") and comedian Whitney Cummings about...

American Pie 4 has been in the works for a while, with Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay writer/directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announcing last April that they intended to direct the fourth installment of the franchise instead of A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.
The Wrap reports that the upcoming sequel, titled American Reunion, is intending to bring back to original cast for another sequel, the first theatrical sequel since 2003's American Wedding. Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott are already signed to return as is Eugene Levy — no surprise there, since Levy appeared in all four direct-to-dvd American Pie Presents "comedies" such as 2009's American Pie Presents: The Book of Love. Scott's recent admission to a treatment program for "health and personal issues" is not expected to affect the production.

This one time… in 1999… we all saw a movie that launched the millennium’s raunchy teen genre: American Pie. And now, 12 years later, comes news from Universal (originally reported by The Wrap) that Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, and Eugene Levy are on board for a reunion flick, titled American Reunion. Of course, it’s only been eight years since the trio shared the screen in 2003′s American Wedding (and only two years since Levy starred in the direct-to-dvd American Pie Presents: The Book of Love), but here’s where today’s news gets even more exciting: Thomas Ian Nicholas,...

As Harry Potter hits cinemas for the seventh time, he may want to avoid offences made by others who reached this pivotal point
1. Pride: Diamonds are Forever (1971)
What do you do when George Lazenby, Michael Gambon and Adam West have all turned down a role? You squash rumours of a flailing franchise by reintroducing the most memorable Bond of all time: Sean Connery. You're so proud of recapturing your star and the kudos he commands you assume that it will be fine to cast him in what will obviously end up as one of the worst Bond films of all time (rickety moon buggy, laughable laser-shooting satellite and the most useless Bond girl ever to clutch James's tux: Tiffany Case). This was knocked off the top of the UK box office chart by On the Buses. 2. Greed: Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)

Things are getting busy in the land of R-rated comedy. As rumors have previously buzzed, our favorite Nph cohorts are reuniting for A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (with Kal Penn heading back to Hollywood after his White House stint). However, creators Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz aren't going to direct their script this time. They've decided to head to the land of the pies, leaving the stoners to newcomer Todd Strauss Schulson, who's directed a number of successful short films.
According to THR's Risky Business, the Harold and Kumar brains are helming American Pie 4. Their names have been circling the project since February, but initial reports saw them only as writers -- not directors. It seems that the duo were actually cooking up a Hollywood return to R-rated comedies back in the '90s, but Pie scribe Adam Herz beat them to the punch. Now, things come full circle.

The day of lovers is almost upon us. Surprise! For most men, this obviously means it’s time to scramble for a Hallmark card and a cheap, plastic rose from the gas station. Forget it, guys; she won’t be impressed. Your plan will fail and you’ll be in the dog house for a week.
Why men are compelled to do this year on year is not entirely clear, but Sony is tackling this issue head-on, by providing gamers with Valentines Day-themed downloads on the PlayStation Store.

The direct-to-video genre has one goal: show women with their shirts off. Really, that’s it, or at least that’s it when it comes to an American Pie Direct-to-Video remake/sequel films. The only returning cast member is Eugene Levy, and it seems he sleepwalks through these movies, happy to insulate his retirement funds, in what must be a day or two role. And in American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, you’ve got three friends (Kevin Horton, Bug Hall and Brandon Hardesty) and a character named Stifler (John Patrick Jordan) who go through the pains of falling love and having sex for the first time. My review of American Pie Presents: The Book of Love after the jump.

My second point is that not only is this a movie the venerable Roger Ebert reviewed glowingly on his blog a year ago but you can go on the film’s website and watch it for free.

Bret Michaels knows a thing or two about women. He might know a few more things about love. So that's why, when the "American Pie" team needed a male expert in all things love and peanut butter, the "Rock of Love" star and Poison frontman seemed like the likely candidate to make a cameo in "American Pie Presents: The Book of Love," which hits stores today.
"Well here's what I know. These are the facts. Obviously I'm very aware of the series," he told MTV News. "They had actually called and said 'Look we have this part and we think it would be funny. It's a very peanut butter-oriented part, in which no one will ever look at peanut butter the same again.'"
When it was explained to him that it was similar in nature to the now infamous apple pie scene in the original flick he couldn't help...

Kevin Federline will play a Canadian border guard in the upcoming film American Pie Presents: The Book Of Love. Federline, the ex-husband of Britney Spears and reality TV star, said he was headhunted for the role. 'They called me up and asked if I was interested. I was up for a different part originally, but then they didn’t want me playing myself. I think they thought it would be funnier for me as a Canadian border guard,' he said. He recently slimmed down during a stint on Celebrity Fit Club. The father of two strapping sons with Spears, he said: 'If anybody has any more cameos – or actual roles they want me in – that would be...

Why I kept watching the American Pie series after the third film was beyond me. They all involved a member of the Stiffler family, and were all terrible. But for the first time since American Wedding, the series takes an upturn with a smaller, funnier film that only has a few truly dumb hiccups along the way.
The Book Of Love is the first film since the original that doesn’t follow a member of the Stiffler family, and for that it deserves some credit. The Stiflers are obnoxious characters and every single one of them is just doing a bad impression of Seann William Scott’s performance of the original. It’s like they exist in some weird universe where every member of the family acts the exact same way, which is something I don’t think anyone can really relate to. The focus this time is on Rob...

Believe it or not, it’s now been 10 years since the original American Pie movie. It was a huge success costing around $10m to make and creating around $235m at the box office. It spawned two further theatrical releases and American Pie Presents: The Book of Love is the 4th straight-to-dvd release in the franchise making it the 7th in the series. None of it’s predecessors have managed to live up to the standard of the original movie but read on to find out if this seventh movie cu the mustard!
American Pie (1999) didn’t just start a franchise that would go for ten years or longer, it created (or possibly revived?) a whole new genre which sparked many other college based comedies, none of which have quite lived up to the daddy that is American Pie. All the elements have been there in the sequels but there seems...
