Apparently the bigots are out for blood and give this show bad reviews for a few kissing scenes between two 13-year olds. Honestly some people
Need to chill out! This was an excellent series, stellar acting and such a fascinating plot! Give it a chance and you'll like it or even love it! I didn't have many expectations when I started watching and now I'm so upset it's already over. I do hope the show gets renewed as the finale leaves a lot of room for a new storyline. Do yourself a favor, ignore all the nasty reviews and watch this series as you won't be disappointed, even gave me the chills.!
I watched it once and gave it 7 stars. I watched it a second time and I feel I have to give it a 9. I don't give it a 10 because it's not a great production and the editing and acting could have been better.
The Chosen One is an amazing, original story. Hundreds of movies and tv shows have been made about this topic, but this one is completely out of the ordinary. It's definitely a memorable story. The story starts with very little tension, and that increases steadily until the last few minutes of the last episode!
The use of music is very clever, as it reflects the feeling of the characters at the time and not the reality behind what's really happening, so nothing is too obvious; not to Jodie and definitely not to the audience. So you don't need to blame yourself if you couldn't connect the dots, although you had all the clues! This makes this series extra memorable.
The kids' performance is brilliant, to the point that they made me cry laugh and cry with them. Juanito Anguamea (Tuka) and Alberto Pérez-Jácome (Wagner), in special, were amazing. The adults, on the other hand, felt a little flat. I think that of Dianna Agron, in particular, because she was playing a key character (Jodie's mom Sarah), which really needed to be on point. I would also blame her for Bobby Luhnow (Jodie)'s poor performance in some scenes playing opposite to her.
This series deeply touched me and the story will be in my memory forever. I learned that this is only 1 part of a 3 part story originally published as comics. I hope they do a 2nd and 3rd season to tell the rest of the story.

Sorry but this series is pretty poor in every way.
Even knowing that it is a fictional series, the events are not at all credible.
I found myself thinking if it were really possible this would be how the story unfold?
After half a dozen episodes I felt that the forward button is my best friend, and you don't miss much after all.
Maybe the kids enjoy this kind of series but for adults I think this is a comedy!
I saw Messiah and it was so much better than this one.
Well in my opinion this is a kind of series that in one year you will not remember that you saw it.
Well Netflix has these things!

As an English speaker I don't often watch foreign language shows with subtitles, but I decided to give this one a watch. I'm glad I did. Sure, the dialogue, at times, was horrific and some of the effects were a little questionable. The story was pretty good, although mostly predictable. The young cast was able to portray emotion at key moments that caught me off guard and was really impressive. The ending was exceptionally well filmed and is worth watching all 6 episodes for. Except for the final moments which felt rushed and could almost been from a completely different series. I will definitely watch the next season if there is one, if only to see where they take the story next.
The Chosen One (el elegido) The Mexican series based on the American comic by Mark Millar consists of a total of 6 episodes. It follows the story of a 12-year-old child who discovers they possess powers akin to Jesus Christ. What will happen in their life?
In summary, this series is a brilliantly crafted adaptation from a comic, featuring a storyline with intricately developed characters much like a Mexican version of Stranger Things. Every actor delivers an impressive performance, and the narrative unfolds in a unique and captivating way, filled with excitement and complexity that persists even in its conclusion. Highly recommended not to be missed, especially for fans of the writer Mark Millar.
