Taylor Sheridan-Created Movies And TV Shows: From ‘Yellowstone’ To ‘Tulsa King’

Writer and director Taylor Sheridan’s empire has expanded ever since his films and then multitude of television shows that began with Yellowstone. The western drama series starring Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and more debuted in 2018 and has made it to five seasons. Prequel shows have spun off the show as well.

Sheridan has also shaped projects like Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone, Special Ops: Lioness starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman and Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner. He has The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman and Patrick J. Adams in the works as well. He executive produced Chad Feehan’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves starring David Oyelowo, Lauren E. banks, Demi Singleton, and he also executive produced Willie Nelson & Family, Finestkind (2023), Pure Grit (2021), Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) and The Last Cowboy (2019).

As an actor, he appeared in 12 Strong (2018), Sons of Anarchy (2011), Veronic Mars (2005-2007) and more.

Indigenous films take center stage over the Kanopy streaming service on Native American Heritage Day

The free/commercial-free streaming service Kanopy that’s available with a library card is is observing today’s Native American Heritage Day (November 24) by featuring an assortment of films and documentaries with Native American/indigenous themes. They include “Winter in the Blood” (2013) that co-stars “Killers of the Flower Moon” star Lily Gladstone and “The Cherokee Word for Water” (2013), which was voted the top American Indian film of the past half century in a survey conducted by the American Indian Film Institute in 2015. Also available over Kanopy today is “Songs My Brother Taught Me” (2015) from the Oscar-winning writer-director Chloe Zhao. It was nominated for Best Feature at Cannes and a Grand Jury Dramatic Prize at Sundance as well as Best First Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards.

‘Here Before’, ‘Foscadh’ lead Galway Film Fleadh 2021 winners

Stacey Gregg’s psychological thriller Here Before has won best Irish film at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh, which closed its 2021 edition on Sunday, July 25.

Set in Northern Ireland, the feature stars Andrea Riseborough as a bereaved mother whose feelings of grief are compounded when a new family moves next door. Produced by UK companies Rooks Nest and Pia Pressure, it is backed by BBC Film and Northern Ireland Screen.

The feature was among those awarded as Galway wrapped its six-day Fleadh, a hybrid of outdoor, in-cinema and virtual screenings and events.

A strong line-up of new films by Irish filmmakers is being showcased at this week’s Galway Film Fleadh.

Long regarded as a festival that introduces emerging Irish talent, Galway Film Fleadh’s line-up this year is notable for the breadth of new names and stories.

Local and international demand for storytelling is also fuelling a growth in indigenous filmmaking in the Irish language and a number of new films are screening at the Fleadh which this week is running online from July 20-25.
