Anna Torv plays a TV news anchor while in real life she is the daughter of Hans Torv, himself a successful Australian radio presenter and founder of the radio station "Hot Tomato" on Queensland's Gold Coast and the niece of media mogul Rupert Murdoch who founded Fox News Channel and owns many other news outlets.
Coincidentally, Dale Jennings was the name of an early gay rights activist in the United States in the 1950s and 60s.
