The acting is fine. It's the background music. It NEVER stops!! There is music playing throughout the movie, in every scene and often makes dialogue difficult to understand. The music doesn't add to the drama, - it just annoys. Especially because it's really bad music. If I could have silenced it, I would have! I think I would have liked the movie more if that irritating, constant annoying music wasn't there.
Poor acting poor script but in saying that I did find it kind of funny and if they added a couple of funny moments they probably would've gotten away with it.
I'm a film lover and westerns are some of my favourite but this film was easy to watch with some very poor acting it wasn't one of the worst I watched but if you want a serious gritty good acting film this is fair from that.
I give it 5.

Supposedly based in George Hearst's western stories this brand new western within the meaning of the world, Apache Junction quite sure is nothing despicable neo western aside the silly proposition concerning a young woman going to far country where the law within reach of law, a sort of hideout of those criminals hiding from the claws of the justice, in this bleak and filthy environment the female journalist ventures aiming at bring fresh stories about those outlaws.
Indeed Anabelle Angel (Scout Taylor-Compton) was in jeopardy on arrival, a kind of no tasted new meat or something like that, it triggers the primitive instincts of some hungry soldiers willing to rape her at whatever cost, then comes in her aid Jericho Ford (Stuart Towsend) a white wandering guy raised among Indians that lives with his closest native friend Wasco (Ricky Lee) in far off shack, sadly in the clash three soldiers went to die, one of them is the son of Captain Hensley (Trace Adkins) that hereinafter put a high reward to got the head of Jericho Ford at your desk.
If you think this western is something alike Deadwood series wrote by George Hearst with those countless nude scenes, just forget about, it seems a straitlaced offering, it somewhat undermines the weak plot already, in other hand some colorful characters in some way strengthen the movie as the native Ricky Lee, the ruthless villain Ed Morrone and the bar's owner Thomas Jane, worthwhile a look by less stringent.
Thanks for reading.

My father worked for Four Star Pictures in the late 50's at Apacheland in Apache Junction as a gaffer. He bummed around with the best of them and he would have walked out of this Trace Adkins dud with his #12 boot shoved...... Anyway, we have long ties with the town and it's real history is much richer, more varied and a helluva lot more interesting that a tired 5cent 1930's western movie script that was rewritten on a toilet tank 50 times before it made the 1 a week grind house pulp mill. I've come to expect that anything with Trace Adkins will be in the "Howard the Duck" rack at every truckstop, which is sad because he was just in Old Henry and thankfully his bit was short in that inexpensive masterpiece. I'm thinking Thomas Jane needed a paycheck, thats why this was done, and sadly why his roles have dried up.
The action is rather clunky, but the component cast, and good camera work and visuals make it a decent watch. Also, surely to God someone can find something better for Thomas Jane to do in 2022 Jesus Christ.

- TriviaIn the trailer, the lead characters are facing each other for a shootout in town, and there are a number of straw bales, or hay bales. They are perfectly cuboid just like ones produced on modern day baling machines,. Also if they are straw bales, then wheat was not planted in sufficient quantity to make machine baling practical.
