Change the Lead

For me all the female work well, its the 2 males that can't act and are not remotely funny. Which as one is the creator and lead thats a problem. If we get series 2 kill off the males just stick with the females.

Mediocre

C+ "Nice first attempt but needs more work and polish particularly on dialogue, humour, character development and narrative flow. I think your style is more suited to children's books than adult comedy". This I'm sure was the mark and comment from the Creative Writing for TV professor who set this 1st year writing assignment.

The comment goes on to say, "You did successfully address one of the assignment's key goals to create a group of characters that demonstrate the most annoying characteristics of the millennial generation".

The greatest achievement of this show is that it went from a mediocre 1st year creative writing assignment to a funded tv show.

Overflow

Far too much dialogue.

Just stop the characters talking incessantly; have them take a breath and actually do things. We might actually learn something about them that way.

As it stands, it was hard to feel I knew any of the characters and so impossible to care what happened to them.

And the comedy is very weak (e.g. The "joke" in the trailer about the reason for the rented room being so cheap).

Mind-numbing awfulness

This is most likely the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

A group of self obsessed zoomers endlessly talk talk talking at each other, infinitely impressed with how clever they all think they are.

But no one's clever. They're self infatuated Peter Pan types, speaking the things they write on Twitter to get likes from other Peter Pan types. If talking in Twitter posts doesn't sound real, that's because it's not.

Snark followed by sarcasm followed by more snark. None of it's endearing, all of it is off-putting.

No one likes these kinds of people but themselves. No one outside of their bubble finds people like this bearable.

Oh, and the gimmicky "long take/one shot" style of filming a scene is far too on the nose. The camera, constantly moving to get the next bit of staging in frame, make sure everyone's blocked perfectly now HIT YOUR MARK AND SAY YOUR SNARKY LINE!

Yawn.

Absolute bottom of the barrel

This is as bad as television gets.

It epitomizes the narcissist, self-absorbed, affected generation of leftist, 20 somethings who have never let a moment of time go by where they weren't talking about themselves.

appalling

ITV think because Iain Stirling is popular with some of the people who watch trashy reality TV shows and some of the kids who watched kids TV 10 years ago that he is qualified to write a sitcom. Oh how wrong they were. Generic woke unfunny garbage that is as dull as dishwasher. The exact sort of sitcom that you would expect ITV or BBC to commission these days to be fair. It is pretty much an insult to the British greats of yesteryear. Josh Widdicombe's sitcom Josh, Amanda Holden's Big Top, and Romesh's awful landlord thingy, are the only British sitcoms I've seen in recent years that may possibly be worse than this and there have been tonnes of stinkers. Everyone involved should to be utterly ashamed of themselves!

Kill this with fire

There is not a single area where this show does not fail. The writing is awful. The shooting and editing is nausea inducing. The performances are cringe worthy. This programme is a smug atrocity. It should never have made it past the pilot. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Dire

Boring as not funny. Take it off TV. How this got on air who knows... absolutely terrible.

Poorly written and tedious watching

Character development is weak and based on predictable and clichéd stereotypes, whilst the broader narrative is painfully dull. The attempt at humour is poorly executed throughout, is predictable and feels dated. All in all the series can be summed up as several big disappointments one after the other for the viewer with no end in sight.

snowflakes in hell

I enjoy Iain Stolling's work in Love Island, but I'm certainly not loving this. Not only is it entirely unfunny and self-indulgently autobiographical, it's also painfully self-pitying. Apparently Stirling was 'sold the idea he was special' by his parents; and yet bad things have sometimes happened to him. Poor lamb!

Look, young people: for most adults, most of the time, life is difficult. That's not unfairness, it's not because of some con or injustice, it's just how it is (heard of the 'human condition'?). Maybe it would be better if that was spelled out more clearly to us when we're kids; but how exactly does it help to try and prolong the Disneyworld pretence long into adulthood?

For the rest of us: if you want to know why it is now acceptable for Olympic athletes who don't feel like competing to just drop out - and then, if they like, drop back in again - and not only escape criticism but be applauded for it, this might shed some light on the subject. But I'm not sure it's worth sitting through it for that.

Excellent show!

Had us crying with laughter at times and also brought me to unexpected tears of sadness once or twice. Excellent show with likeable characters and manages to poke fun at our generation in an enjoyable way!

Truly terrible

There have been a few sitcoms by stand ups that have been awful but this is the lowest of the low. The dialogue is dreadful and the delivery is even worse. I honestly cannot believe that at no stage of developing this show did someone pull the plug. There are so many talented writers out there so for something like this to get commissioned and made is a real shame.

Iain Sterling should not be on television

Iain Sterling cannot act or narrate and should never be on television or narrate any tv series God only knows how he made it on to mainstream tv other than being with Laura Whitmore who is equally talentless. Everytime I hear his voice I just want to change channel and wonder how on earth he ever found employment within television. Alan Car would be a much safer choice and do a much better job. Avoid anything with Ian Stirlings name attached to it and you will be much happier. Thats a fact!

It is frustrating to watch this and think that anybody out there could possibly have a sense of humour that finds this sorta thing funny. Terrible.

Enjoyable viewing.

This is easy viewing on par with many sitcoms. Some people are out to be negative from the start.

Ignore the negativity

Really funny- I loved it! Ignore all the bad reviews, I thought it was great. Relatable, comforting TV for a 20-something also trying to navigate life.
