Vidyut Jammwal: Proud to produce a film where women have equal opportunity in action

With his unflinching stunts, it won’t be wrong to say that Vidyut Jammwal’s films have everything that titillates the action lovers in you. However, in his next, it is not just the action star who will be keeping the audience at the edge of their seat, but his leading ladies. Nora Fatehi and Amy Jackson, too, will be raising the bar in this genre.

Vidyut, who is gearing up for his next ‘Crakk – Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa’, which he has bankrolled and starred in, said that he is proud to have produced a film “where women have equal opportunity in action as men.”

Bollywood action star Vidyut Jammwal ditched the comfort of his luxury Aston Martin and took the Mumbai metro to reach home just like any other after a long day of shoot.

A video of the actor sitting in the metro has been obtained. Vidyut is seen undistinguished as he covered half his face, sporting a navy blue baseball cap. He is seen sitting in the general compartment dressed in gray shorts, paired with gray sweatshirt and blue sneakers.

Vidyut, a people’s person, managed to perfectly go undercover as the person next to him doesn’t seem to recognise the actor, who has worked in films such as ‘Commando’, ‘Khuda Haafiz’, ‘Sanak’ and ‘Junglee’.

Badshah issues apology; says some parts of the song 'Sanak' will be changed

Mumbai, April 24 (Ians) Popular Punjabi singer-rapper Badshah has come out with an apology on social media after drawing flak for mentioning lord Shiva’s name in his latest track ‘Sanak’.

Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, took to Instagram, where he posted a note and apologised. The track had received backlash for using a deities name along with objectionable words.

Badshah mentioned that he has already taken “proactive measures” to change some words and would never cause offense to anyone “wilingly or unknowingly.”

He wrote in the note: “It has been brought to my attention that one of my recent releases, Sanak, sadly seems to have hurt the sentiments of some people. I would never willingly or unknowingly cause offence to anyone’s sentiments.”

Going beyond hip-hop, Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, has a playlist that includes unusual choices for a rapper such as Amit Trivedi.

Rukmini Maitra (“Sanak”) will play the lead in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s Bengali-language film “Binodiini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan” (“Binodiini – Tale of a Theater Artist”).

The film will be a biopic of Binodini Dasi, also known as Nati Binodini, who had a flourishing career as an theater actor in 19th century Bengal between the ages of 12 and 23 and was known for her innovations, including creating a stage make-up style that blended European and Indian techniques. (The difference in spelling between the actor’s name and the title of the film is due to numerology.)

The film is written by Priyanka Poddar (“Parineeta”) and will be produced by Shhailendra Kkumar for SS1 Entertainment and Suraj Sharma for Pk Entertainment, who are currently collaborating on “1770 – Ek Sangram,” and Prateek Chakravorty for Pramod Films (“Maara”) in association with Mukherjee’s Assorted Motion Pictures and popular Bengali cinema actor Dev Adhikari’s Dev Entertainment Ventures.

French broadcaster Planete Plus has commissioned factual political thriller “Munich: Of Games and Blood” from Pernel Media to mark the 50th anniversary of the hostage crisis that rocked the Munich Olympic Games on September 5, 1972. Written by Philippe Saada, Yossi Melman and cinematographer Marc Dugain, the doc is narrated by three protagonists present at the original event where Israeli athletes were taken hostage by Palestinian Black September terrorists: an ex-terrorist, a member of the German police, and a Mossad agent. Doc combines this 360° point of view with archives of exclusive testimonies and revelations from declassified documents.

Executive producers for Pernel Media are Fabrice Frank and Samuel Kissous. Feature doc was commissioned by Planete Plus’s Christine Cauquelin, head of documentaries, Canal Plus Group.

Mumbai, March 10 (Ians) Actress Adah Sharma on Wednesday was in the mood for banter with her Commando 3 co-star Vidyut Jammwal. She wrote a comment on his Instagram post hinting at his relationship status!

It all started when Vidyut shared a photo on Instagram and captioned it: "Designed to be Alone and Happy."

Adah commented on his post contradicting Vidyut's statement, raising the curiosity of fans.

"I heard that the design has had a fashion upgrade," Adah wrote.

While a section of fans commented on the post asking who the special person was, another group of fans suggested that Vidyut can never be alone because they are always there for him.

Vidyut has just finished shooting for the action thriller Sanak, which casts him opposite Bengali actress Rukmini Maitra. Sanak marks Rukmini's Bollywood debut.

Vipul Shah juggles his day between 'Sanak' and 'Human'

Mumbai, Feb 5 (Ians) After staying home for most of last year owing to lockdown, filmmaker Vipul Shah is trying to bounce back with two parallel projects that take up practically all of his day.

Shah is currently back to the grind with two projects, "Human" and "Sanak" simultaneously.

The thriller web series "Human", co-directed by Shah with Mozez Singh, is an emotional drama about the underbelly of human drug testing and the world of medical scam. "Sanak" is an intense action film co-produced by Shah.

"During day time, we are shooting Human and at night we are shooting Sanak. My day starts approximately at 5 am and it ends at 1 or 2 am. After directing Human from early morning to evening, I report to the sets of Sanak from evening to next morning. Though it's challenging, it's quite interesting and fun," he said.
