Jason Statham has done it again. The actor best known for “Punch first, talk later” roles is back in action and this time, he is leading a peaceful life as a construction worker. Directed by Suicide Squad’s David Ayer, A Working Man features an impressive cast including Jason Statham, David Harbour, Michael Peña, and more. The idea is simple – Jason Statham lives a normal life, gets provoked, he turns the world upside down. Nothing we haven’t seen before.

However, it looks like the netizens are all in for another one of these classic Jason Statham action flicks. We guess there is just something about the actor playing a no-nonsense guy who can take down the goons and make it back home in time for dinner. Clearly, Jason Statham isn’t getting the Dwayne Johnson treatment from the fans.

Brendan Fraser’s Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) is no less than a classic family adventure. While the critics may have polarizing opinions on it, you can’t disagree that it was an entertaining watch at least. A few years later, Journey returned to the theatres, only this time, there was no Brendan Fraser in sight, only Dwayne Johnson. Along with Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens, the group made their way to a mysterious island to carry out a rescue mission.

Dwayne Johnson's $177 million box office disappointment lands on Netflix's global chart seven years later. Johnson, also known by his ring name The Rock, began his career in professional wrestling and became one of the most celebrated stars in the WWE, his charisma and physical prowess leading to opportunities in Hollywood. His first film role came in 2001's The Mummy Returns, which spawned the spin-off The Scorpion King. This led to a variety of roles for The Rock from action-hero to comedic lead, becoming one of the most bankable stars.
Over the years, he has starred in family-friendly comedies like The Game Plan, Tooth Fairy, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Jumanji: The Next Level. Dwayne Johnson's action movies include Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Hercules, San Andreas, Skyscraper, Rampage, and the Fast & Furious franchise. Vanessa Hudgens shot to fame playing Gabriella Montez in Disney's High School Musical, and along with her star, her net worth continues to rise. Like many young Disney Channel actors, Hudgens sought to distance herself from her squeaky clean roots by taking on roles in more mature films like Sucker Punch and Spring Breakers. And while she's come a long way since her HSM days, Hudgens hasn't forgotten her roots, and has continued to show her musical talent in Fox's live musicals, Grease Live! (2015) and Rent: Live (2019), along with Lin-Manuel Miranda's feature film directorial debut, Tick, Tick...Boom! (2021).
Hudgens was born in Salinas, California to her mother, Gina, who is of Filipino descent and held various office jobs, and her father, Gregory, who passed away in 2016 and was a firefighter of Irish and Native American descent. Hudgens has a younger sister, Stella, who is also an actress. Hudgens famously dated her HSM co-star,...

Cash Out opens with Mason Goddard and his crew stealing an outrageously expensive supercar as what he intends to be his last heist. Things don’t go as planned however as one of them, his girlfriend Amelia no less, is an undercover FBI agent. He barely escapes, and since he was already planning to retire, takes it one step further, he fakes his death and drops out of sight.
Three months later, his brother Shawn drops by trying to interest him in coming out of retirement for one more job. That doesn’t work, but when another member of the crew, Link calls he’s packing and on his way to the airport.
The next thing we know, Mason and Shawn are kidnapping a bank manager and the plan is in motion.

Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has portrayed a lot of different characters in a plethora of movies. Yet, despite him doing an amazing job, the wrestler-turned-actor has never managed to convince fans that he is ‘acting’. The reason is, that Johnson often seems to be portraying more or less similar characters in numerous projects he has undertaken throughout his years in Hollywood.

In the world of advertising, there’s a term called “negative marketing”. It’s when a company benefits from how terrible its products are because people cannot stop complaining about it. Well, Jennifer Lopez’s 2024 Netflix film had something similar but maybe they didn’t mean to do it intentionally!
Jennifer Lopez as Atlas Shepherd in Atlas | Netflix
Well, the movie was indeed terrible despite a strong cast and fans were indeed aware of the reviews and feedback. Despite all of this, Jennifer Lopez was paid an astonishing amount to star in the film and although Atlas was considered a failure, Netflix benefitted from it greatly!

Plot: Atlas Shepherd, a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. When plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it
Review: Jennifer Lopez has been in five films over the last two years, and another, Unstoppable, is still on the way. After her acclaimed 2019 performance in Hustlers, Lopez has starred in two romantic comedies, two action films, and a bizarre music video-slash-biopic monstrosity linked to her latest album. Now, her second Netflix feature in as many years, Atlas, aims to be J.Lo’s Marvel-esque blockbuster but falls short in every conceivable way. Directed by San Andreas helmer Brad Peyton, Atlas is a special effects-laden foray into the most cliched science fiction genre offering I have seen in a long time.

However, apart from this popular film series, The Rock’s other films have surprisingly not expanded into sequels.

Johnson’s producing partner Hiram Garcia attempted to explain the reasons behind this back in 2022. It appeared from Garcia’s revelations that The Scorpion King star’s commitment to DC and his character Black Adam could have been the deciding factor behind a film like Rampage not getting the greenlight for a sequel. As fate would have it, Johnson’s long-term desires for DC went up in smoke.

In a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette, actor Kathryn Newton gives a brief tour of the set for the Radio Silence-directed Abigail. That includes a swimming pool filled not with water, but decomposing corpses.
Releasing April 19, Abigail has been rated “R” for “Strong bloody violence and gore throughout, pervasive language and brief drug use.” And it’s not hard to see why, either.
Watch the featurette below to get a peek at some of the gore, courtesy of a deep indoor swimming pool.
In the film, “After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”

The 2008’s Journey To The Center Of The Earth, based on the novel by Jules Verne, starring Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson has been a classic film, that earned repeated viewership. As the movie turned into a solid hit, the studio thus decided to capitalize on the film’s success and came up with a sequel starring Dwayne Johnson, who replaced Fraser.

Radio Silence (V/H/S, Southbound, Scream, Scream VI) returns to the big screen with Universal horror movie Abigail in April, and the film’s MPA rating has arrived this week.
Releasing April 19, Abigail has been rated “R” for…
“Strong bloody violence and gore throughout, pervasive language and brief drug use.”
Watch the official trailer for Abigail below, which is a bloody blast. The Don’t Breathe-esque setup introduces a band of criminals who attempt to kidnap a seemingly innocent young girl. Of course, the little girl turns out to be a vampire – a ballerina vampire, to be specific.
The cast for this one is absolutely stacked with talent, and the killer premise looks to have been executed by Radio Silence in the most fun – and bloody – way possible. It channels the spirit of their pre-Scream horror hit Ready or Not, and it promises to be a gory good time.

Jules Verne's work has inspired numerous movie adaptations and is the foundation for some of the earliest science fiction films. Some Jules Verne adaptations are entertaining and enjoyable, while others are outdated and not required viewing. The film "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (2008) successfully updates Verne's classic story with modern special effects and remains fun to watch.
Jules Verne is undoubtedly one of the most prominent authors in science fiction, and its no wonder that his works have inspired countless movie adaptations. One of the most translated writers in human history, the French author has written legendary tales like 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Around the World in 80 Days. Verne's daring imagination put him far ahead of his time, and it's no surprise that movie studios have sought to replicate his sense of wonder with multiple live-action adaptations of Jules Verne stories.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island brings a fresh perspective with a shift in narrative focus, combining mystery, fantasy, and action. Dwayne Johnson's charismatic performance as Hank Parsons adds humor, physical prowess, and emotional depth to the film. Vanessa Hudgens' portrayal of Kailani is full of confidence and charm.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is the second installment in the Journey film franchise, which features an all-star cast including Vanessa Hudgens. While 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth was inspired by Jules Verne's classic sci-fi novel of the same name, Journey 2 embraces a different Verne novel, The Mysterious Island, as its primary source material and focuses more on comedy. Unlike the first film's underground exploration theme, Journey 2 expands its horizon to an enigmatic island, introducing new characters and challenges. It makes for an exciting standalone adventure while maintaining a connection to the franchise's adventurous spirit.

Lobo's unique persona and captivating presence make him an ideal character for a rebooted cinematic DC Universe. Despite previous failed attempts, the big screen debut of Lobo may finally be coming to fruition, with rumors of an appearance in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy. While a Lobo film directed by Guy Ritchie or Michael Bay would have been exciting, fans can trust that James Gunn will do right by the character.
Despite his status as a somewhat fringe comic character, Lobo is the perfect candidate to help lead a rebooted cinematic DC Universe. There's just something about the 7-foot-tall, blue-skinned biker that grabs an audience's attention and doesn't let go. Lobo has done it all in the DC universe -- from joining the Justice League to fighting Superman in order to win a bet -- but he still has so much more to bring fans of the superhero genre.

Fandoms everywhere can now rejoice, for in October Our Flag Means Death finally returns to our screens for its second season. Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. The safety of the cult favorite is not yet known beyond season two, but if this one is as good as the first, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying.

If you grew up in the 90s/2000s, there’s a very small chance you’ve heard of High School Musical. Over the years of watching Disney Channel, how many times did you turn on the TV and hear “We’re all in this together!” or the famous song, "Gotta Go My Own Way." Dubbed a multi-billion-dollar success (per Variety), with a legacy that continues on many years after its initial, humble release on Disney Channel, the High School Musical franchise won big. The franchise consists of High School Musical, High School Musical 2, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.
The series is so popular that, back in 2019, they released a TV show spinoff titled High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which, as of August 2023, is on four seasons and counting. Originally, the movie followed Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), a basketball team captain auditioning for...

When Josh Hutcherson was cast in "Five Nights at Freddy's," it just made sense. Director and co-writer Emma Tammi's film adaptation of the lore-heavy hit horror video game franchise has the actor playing Mike Schmidt, an Average Joe who takes a job as the night security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, unaware of that tiny issue where the entertainment center's animatronic mascots come to life and begin massacring people after midnight. Mike himself is the type of archetypical hero Hutcherson is best known for portraying; a humble everyman who must rise to the occasion in the face of extraordinary circumstances.
In a way, Hutcherson's unlikely transformation into one of this century's major genre movie and TV actors began with his first feature film, "American Splendor." One of the best comic book adaptations ever made, the film carries over the meta-narrative and autobiographical elements of Harvey Pekar's source material,...

One of the most culturally impactful shows on television of the 1990s, HBO's Sex and the City was revolutionary for its depiction of female sexuality and friendship. The show followed four single thirty-something women living in New York City and experiencing the dating scene. At the core of the show is the characters' love for New York City and fashion and their support of one another as they all have different opinions about sex and love. While the actors in Sex and the City had some name recognition, the success of the series made A-list stars out of its main cast.
Sex and the City was a massive critical success, and it won multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards during its run. While the writing and themes of the show contributed to its appeal, the main cast members brought the likable Sex and the City characters to life. Fans'...

The original Max series “Full Circle” debuts on July 13. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the new drama investigates a kidnapping gone wrong in New York, revealing the secrets and lies of multiple characters. Or as the trailer warns: “Everything is connected.” The six-episode limited series stars Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, and Dennis Quaid.
Watch the “Full Circle” trailer:
The four-part documentary “Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is set in the early 1990s as the AIDS crisis worsens. The media’s distorted coverage of the gay victims, coupled with the homophobic biases of the criminal justice system, undermine the investigation. The docuseries — which premieres on Max on July 9 — illustrates how the LGBTQ+ community fought to solve the murders and demand attention for those murdered.

There have been many movies about Atlantis that have explored the mysteries and fascination with the mythical city. There are certain stories that have been around for centuries that have always sparked an interest in the public's mind. Atlantis is one such story that has gone on to inspire films, ranging from classic adventures to animated family movies to superhero epics.
The fabled lost city of Atlantis is one of the most frequently revisited bits of ancient lore that has fascinated humans for centuries. The idea of a city that could exist under the depths of the ocean is thrilling to imagine, so it's no surprise that Hollywood filmmakers have returned to it for inspiration time and time again. The city buried in water has made its way into plenty of movies throughout history, including some very recognizable properties. However, some of these films are better than others at taking...

The highlight of Brendan Fraser’s Oscars night was winning the Academy Award for best actor thanks to his acclaimed performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale,” but perhaps in second place was a long overdue reunion with megastar Dwayne Johnson. The two actors starred together nearly 22 years ago in “The Mummy Returns,” the sequel to Fraser’s 1999 blockbuster “The Mummy” that marked Johnson’s film acting debut in Hollywood.
“Very cool full circle moment here with my long time buddy Brendan Fraser and his sons,” Johnson wrote on Instagram along with a video of the two actors reuniting backstage at the 2023 Oscars. “My very first film of my Hollywood career was ‘The Mummy Returns,’ which Brendan was the star. Lots of critics and cynics betting against me at that time, but Brendan welcomed me with open arms and was very supportive. I never forget kind people.”
Johnson added, “Now years later,...

John Cena and Jason Momoa will be teaming up for the upcoming film Killer Vacation. The two actors have certainly made themselves popular figures in Hollywood over the last several years. Cena first came into prominence as a professional wrestler, while Momoa began his career as an actor in 1999 in Baywatch: Hawaii. The two also have major roles in the DC Universe. Though Aquaman and Peacemaker have never encountered each other on-screen, Cena's character has made it clear he's no fan of Momoa's, as made evident by the widely-discussed fish joke from Peacemaker season 1. The two actors also star in the upcoming Fast & Furious sequel, Fast X, which comes out next year.
Variety reports that, after hitting it off on that set, Momoa and Cena now plan to star in a film of their own for Warner Bros. While the studio is keeping most details about the plot secret,...

Jason Momoa and John Cena are set to share the screen in a new movie. Both actors have been cast in an action-comedy film called "Killer Vacation," per Variety. The script for "Killer Vacation" will be written by Mark and Brian Gunn, who also wrote the script for Dwayne Johnson's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" and "Brightburn." Specific details about the plot remain under wraps, but we do know it's set to be a blend of action and comedy, and sources told Variety that Cena and Momoa were inspired to work together after discovering their "natural chemistry" on the set of the final Fast & Furious movies. Reps for both actors did not immediately respond to Popsugar's request for comment.
