After her acclaimed 2019 performance in Hustlers, Lopez has starred in two romantic comedies, two action films, and a bizarre music video-slash-biopic monstrosity linked to her latest album. Now, her second Netflix feature in as many years, Atlas, aims to be J.Lo’s Marvel-esque blockbuster but falls short in every conceivable way. Atlas is now streaming on Netflix and with its release, we were able to sit down with director Brad Peyton (Rampage; San Andreas; Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) to talk about his action-packed new sci-fi epic that stars Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy-nominated superstar Jennifer Lopez (The Mother; Shotgun Wedding; Anaconda) in the titular role as Atlas Shepherd.

Exclusive: Director, writer and producer Brad Peyton has signed with Grandview for representation. He has brought Grandview onboard ahead of the premiere of his upcoming film Atlas, which stars Jennifer Lopez, Simu Lui and Sterling K. Brown.

Netflix is releasing the pic on Memorial Day and buzz for the film is already strong. The film follows a woman fighting for humanity in a future where an AI soldier has determined the only way to end war is to end humanity.

Peyton is best known for his distinctive take on action blockbusters, which have grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office. Credits include San Andreas, Rampage and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. In television, Peyton co-created Daybreak with Aron Coleite for Netflix.

Peyton will continue to write and develop character-driven movies at scale and continue building his production company.

In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.

Radio Silence is the directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. They made Ready or Not and last year’s Scream VI.

The “Untitled Monster Thriller” from Radio Silence (V/H/S, Southbound, Scream, Scream VI) and Universal has officially been revealed this week, and it’s titled Abigail.

“Children can be such monsters” is the official tagline for the Radio Silence-directed Abigail, which is scheduled for release in theaters April 19. And the trailer has arrived today.

Watch the official trailer for Abigail below, which is a bloody blast. The Don’t Breathe-esque setup introduces a band of criminals who attempt to kidnap a seemingly innocent young girl. Of course, the little girl turns out to be a vampire – a ballerina vampire, to be specific.

The cast for this one is absolutely stacked with talent, and the killer premise looks to have been executed by Radio Silence in the most fun – and bloody – way possible. It channels the spirit of their pre-Scream horror hit Ready or Not, and it promises to be a gory good time.

Lobo's unique persona and captivating presence make him an ideal character for a rebooted cinematic DC Universe. Despite previous failed attempts, the big screen debut of Lobo may finally be coming to fruition, with rumors of an appearance in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy. While a Lobo film directed by Guy Ritchie or Michael Bay would have been exciting, fans can trust that James Gunn will do right by the character.

Despite his status as a somewhat fringe comic character, Lobo is the perfect candidate to help lead a rebooted cinematic DC Universe. There's just something about the 7-foot-tall, blue-skinned biker that grabs an audience's attention and doesn't let go. Lobo has done it all in the DC universe -- from joining the Justice League to fighting Superman in order to win a bet -- but he still has so much more to bring fans of the superhero genre.

Fandoms everywhere can now rejoice, for in October Our Flag Means Death finally returns to our screens for its second season. Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. The safety of the cult favorite is not yet known beyond season two, but if this one is as good as the first, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying.

Talking of little shows that could, Doom Patrol is back for its last ever block of episodes, having long outlasted the many of the other ill-fated DC streaming series. Season two of The Gilded Age is also streaming this month, with Bertha challenging both Mrs. Astor and the old system in this new run.

Max’s 2023 October lineup of series includes new seasons of Our Flag Means Death, The Gilded Age, and 30 Coins, as well as the second half of Doom Patrol season four (the final season). A documentary focusing on the notorious Bling Ring premieres on October 1st, along with all five Final Destination films.

Summer is heating up on Max.

Back in May, Max added programming from TLC, HGTV and Food Network. That means Discovery’s popular Shark Week will be available to stream when it kicks off on July 23, with programming to be announced soon.

For fans of unscripted series, Season 3 or “90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise: Pillow Talk” (July 4) and Season 5 of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” (July 10) are both streaming, as well as the series premiere of “90 Day Fiancé: UK.”

Home renovation fans will want to catch Season 16 of “Barnwood Builders” (July 6) and the special “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” (July 16), hosted by Ashley Graham, just in time for the feature film.

Max is following DC’s lead with its list of new releases for July 2023.

The two big ticket items this month are of the superhero variety. My Adventures with Superman arrives to Max on July 7 after making its Adult Swim premiere the night before. The end of the month sees Harley Quinn season 4 making its long-awaited debut on July 27. Other original TV titles of note are the Steven Soderbergh-directed Full Circle (July 13) and the third and final season of How To With John Wilson on July 28.

On the movie side of things, documentary Glitch: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia premieres on July 20. Before that on July 13 is both a fresh reboot of filmmaking competition Project Greenlight and the movie that came of it, Gray Matter. Library movies in July include Pulp Fiction, V for Vendetta, Lethal Weapon, and more on July 1.

The original Max series “Full Circle” debuts on July 13. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the new drama investigates a kidnapping gone wrong in New York, revealing the secrets and lies of multiple characters. Or as the trailer warns: “Everything is connected.” The six-episode limited series stars Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, and Dennis Quaid.

The four-part documentary “Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is set in the early 1990s as the AIDS crisis worsens. The media’s distorted coverage of the gay victims, coupled with the homophobic biases of the criminal justice system, undermine the investigation. The docuseries — which premieres on Max on July 9 — illustrates how the LGBTQ+ community fought to solve the murders and demand attention for those murdered.

In the film eyeing a shoot in Seoul, South Korea, which is casting most other roles locally, Hutcherson is set to play Ronny, whose best friend Mike just got out of prison. Jason Momoa and John Cena are set to share the screen in a new movie. Both actors have been cast in an action-comedy film called "Killer Vacation," per Variety. The script for "Killer Vacation" will be written by Mark and Brian Gunn, who also wrote the script for Dwayne Johnson's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" and "Brightburn." Specific details about the plot remain under wraps, but we do know it's set to be a blend of action and comedy, and sources told Variety that Cena and Momoa were inspired to work together after discovering their "natural chemistry" on the set of the final Fast & Furious movies.
