Sharon Stone will star in the long-awaited third season of HBO’s Euphoria, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
“There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent,” Stone shared in a statement on Thursday regarding her casting. “From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.” Earlier this month, THR reported that the veteran actress was in talks for a role on the hit show, created by Levinson.
Though details on Stone’s role are being kept under wraps, she will be joining a stacked roster on the hit show, which includes Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane and Colman Domingo, among others.

As of last year, Sex Pistols have been touring with Frank Carter as their singer. For fans wondering why the legendary punk band didn’t reunite with original frontman John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), guitarist Steve Jones says it “wasn’t even worth asking” him.
Sex Pistols last performed with Lydon in September 2008, completing a run of European festival appearances as part of the original lineup’s most recent reunion. In a new interview with Rolling Stone Australia, Jones says that’s also the last time he spoke with the singer. Years later, Jones and drummer Paul Cook became embroiled in legal action against Lydon over the use of the band’s music in Danny Boyle’s 2022 miniseries Pistol.
“We don’t talk,” Jones said. “The last time I spoke to him was 2008. But I wish him all the best. I really do. We had a great time when we were young,...

20th Television have dropped yet another teaser for Alien: Earth, their upcoming sci-fi horror series that will serve as a prequel to the first film in the franchise, revealing what happened back home on Earth two years before the events of the 1979 movie.
While we don't have an official premiere date, the series is slated to debut this Summer on FX on Hulu domestically and Disney+ via Star internationally. Also, with the Super Bowl right around the corner, there's a very real possibility that a full-length trailer could debut during the annual event, especially considering the Big Game is airing on Fox.
Plot details remain relatively under wraps, but the basic premise is as follows, "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat."

As much as we love covering the careers of prominent actors like "Spider-Man" franchise star Zendaya or "Mad Max: Fury Road" protagonist Tom Hardy, there's something uniquely exciting about looking at the work of a fast-rising star like Louis Partridge. Since appearing in Netflix's "Enola Holmes," opposite "Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown, the 21-year-old English actor has appeared in some high-profile films and television shows, building his resume under the guidance of visionaries like Matthew Vaughn and Academy Award-winners Danny Boyle and Alfonso Cuarón.
At present, it sure seems as though Partridge is preparing to set the world on fire for the next few years, with starring roles in Steven Knight's "House of Guinness" and George Jaques' "Sunny Dancer" on the way. He's also slated to appear in Noah Baumbach's next film and will seemingly lead a new(ish) action franchise for Vaughn. If you want...

Here's a thought experiment to brighten up your Tuesday: is Maisie Williams, the actress noted for playing the revenge-happy murder machine Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, a time traveler? No, of course not, you might say, that's ridiculous. Okay, sure, yeah, but what if I told you that there was a sixth grade class photo taken in 1948 in Oakland, California where one of the students kinda-sorta looks like Williams if you squint?

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and original frontman John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, haven’t shared the stage since the band’s 2008 tour. Nor have they spoken to one another since.
In a new interview, Jones revealed that he’s been estranged from the singer for well over a decade — since that ’08 tour — and the guitarist isn’t eager to patch things up.
“I haven’t spoken to him in years,” Jones said on the Rockonteurs podcast (watch below). “2008 was the last time I spoke to him. We did 30 shows around Europe. We did a bunch of festivals and all that, Japan, Australia. We ended up at Hammersmith Odeon, Hammersmith Apollo, and then we had one more show in the Basque country and that was it.”
He continued, “I was done after that, no more. Too much. Too old, too much, not enough done.”

It’s late into the evening when Louis Partridge finally finds time to talk to The Hollywood Reporter.
The British star is shooting House of Guinness, a new Netflix series from Peaky Blinders mastermind Steven Knight. Partridge explains that he is playing a young Edward Guinness, effortlessly transitioning into a spot-on Dublin accent as he speaks: “It’s a posh, Dublin, Rp in 1869, so he talked like that. It’s not like the Dublin that you hear today, which is more like [boxer] Conor McGregor.”
As you read on, you’ll see the young actor has a knack for impressions. His acting chops are landing him bigger and bigger roles. Partridge’s big break came with Netflix’s mystery movie Enola Holmes, starring opposite Millie Bobby Brown as her love interest. At just 21, he’s now worked with the likes of Danny Boyle, Paul King, and is set to star in...

Kurt Russells 1993 Western Tombstone is widely regarded as one of the actors greatest accomplishments, but most may not be aware that Russell was actually involved in the direction of the film - not just the acting. The story follows Russells character Wyatt, who moves to Arizona in order to escape the outlaws that are constantly terrorizing him; once he arrives there, he runs into a group of cowboys and gets roped into a scheme to bring order back to the town. The result is one of Kurt Russells best Westerns, and a fascinating insight into the Wild West.
Distributed by Walt Disney Studios, Tombstone was a huge success both for Russells career and the survival of the Western genre through the 90s. Before movies like Tombstone and Unforgiven, audiences would have been forgiven for believing that the Western was a dying art in Hollywood - but these projects managed to...

When Alfonso Cuarón won best director and picture in 2019 with his brilliant, heartbreaking black-and-white “Roma,” its two-plus-hour length and panoramic scope hinted that the movie could have easily been expanded into a series. His first project since that Spanish-language film is a seven-part slowburn thriller for Apple TV+. “Disclaimer” shares elements with that film: the struggle at the shore to save a son from drowning, the marital tensions percolating beneath the surface, and the power of memory to distort and reveal.
Because of this, the five-time Oscar winner seems like a natural fit to create a longer narrative with more time to ebb and flow, backed by the deeper pockets of Apple TV+. His choice is “Disclaimer,” a psychological thriller adapted from Renee Knight’s contemporary women’s fiction. Exquisitely shot by Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel, “Disclaimer” fits into the quality, star-driven, female-in-distress category epitomized by “Big Little Lies...

Throughout One Piece's extensive history, Monkey D. Luffy steadily built up his own fighting style with the imaginative use of his Gum-Gum Fruit powers. From long-range punches and dropkicks to the incredible power of Luffy's Gears (which became a reality about halfway through the pre-timeskip era), he has become a powerful force. In fact, he's arguably one of the strongest people in his world, especially after Awakening his Devil Fruit.
Hailing from the East Blue, Luffy leads the Straw Hat crew and aims to become the King of the Pirates and he's got a long way to go and more powers to acquire before that happens. With time, however, Luffy has developed Gears that make him strong enough to fight even the top tiers of the verse on equal footing. At this point in the story, Luffy has access to five main Gears, along with a few other Gear subtypes.

The Alien franchise is set to continue on the small screen with an “FX on Hulu” TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, a show that began filming in Thailand last year, then had to halt production after a month due to the actors strike. Filming resumed earlier this year… and it looks like it’s wrapping up this month (as scheduled), because Sydney Chandler – whose previous credits include Don’t Worry Darling and the mini-series Pistol, and who was announced to be the lead of the Alien TV series when she was cast back in May of 2023 – has taken to social media to reveal that her time in Thailand has come to an end.
Chandler wrote, “Farewell Bangkok. Benchakitti. Lumphini. Krabi. Pathum Wan. China Town. The Onsen. And good Ole Kinokuniya … Farewell 4am pickups. Bkk Traffic. Walkie-Talkie static. Late night motorbikes. Manic laughter. And pure creative adrenaline … Farewell River Kwai.

In 2022, Oscar winner Danny Boyle retold the revolutionary story of the legendary British punk rock group the Sex Pistols with his limited series Pistol on FX. The six-part biopic based on guitarist and co-founding band member Steve Jones's memoir Lonely Boy: Tales From a Sex Pistol would score two BAFTA nominations for its portrayal of the band's brief yet historic rise to fame and infamy through the eyes of Jones, portrayed on-screen by Toby Wallace. Although the series can currently be found on Hulu, it's now bound for digital platforms everywhere starting on May 13 for those who don't have a subscription.

We’re finally set to get the the follow-on from 28 Days Later and 28 Months Later – with three new films now being planned.
For many, many years following the release of 2007’s 28 Weeks Later, there were rumours aplenty that a third film in the series was going to happen. It would have been something along the lines of 28 Months Later, but for whatever reason – Danny Boyle went off and won an Oscar, for one – things didn’t come together.
It felt like a shame, too. 2002’s 28 Days Later was an intense and successful British thriller that Boyle directed and Alex Garland wrote. 2007’s 28 Weeks Later saw Juan Carlos Fresnadillo take over the director’s chair (co-writing the feature as well), and that too was a success.
However, it’s taken nearly 17 years to get to this particular news story: further chapters in the series are finally on the way.

Exclusive: The Rolling Stones can’t get no satisfaction at FX.
A major series chronicling the band’s glory years has taken “a tumble” out of development with FX amid wider content cuts at Disney, according to the show’s producer.
Andy Harries, CEO of The Crown producer Left Bank Pictures, said he was “regrouping” on the show and having conversations about its future — both in terms of a new home and showrunner.
“It’s not in with FX [anymore], unfortunately,” Harries told Deadline. “It did take a tumble out because of the cutbacks at Disney. It was just too expensive and too ambitious for the immediate agenda.”
He added, “John Landgraf was really effusive about the scripts and ambition for the show, but he just didn’t feel that he was going to be able to get it greenlit in the next two years.”
Harries would not rule out returning to FX with the project,...

For an hour, Finestkind is the kind of movie they don’t make any more, and just when you’re starting to adapt to its gentle, circadian rhythms (which is about halfway through), it becomes the kind of movie they make all the time. Though it just about works, it’s a curious hybrid of emotional felladrama and gangster realism, something writer Brian Helgeland has essayed before, notably with his script for Clint Eastwood’s Mystic River. A few years back, this could have been a Malpaso production too, and it’s not hard to imagine Eastwood in the role played here by Tommy Lee Jones, an awards-friendly supporting role that gives the veteran actor his very own mini-Gran Torino.

Talks between the U.S. actors union SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have broken down, and it’s expected that SAG will vote to go on strike today, joining the Writers Guild, which has already been on strike for more than two months now. The writers strike has shut down multiple productions, and any projects that are still in production may soon have to shut down or find a way to work around the fact that SAG actors won’t be reporting to set until the strike is over. In there coverage of the impending SAG strike, Variety mentions that one of the productions that will be complicated by this strike is the Alien TV series that Fargo TV series creator Noah Hawley has been developing for “FX on Hulu” – and they also revealed that the show will be filming in Thailand.

Disney made it official with an SEC filing after the markets closed Friday, confirming it would take $1.5 billion in write-downs associated with removing streaming programming from its platforms.
The number came in on the low end of a range provided by the company last month when it released its quarterly earnings. (Read the new filing Here.) Like other media companies, Disney has been looking to trim expenses in the once-fevered streaming arena, and removing programming has been one means of reaching that goal. Rival service Max, the outlet recently rebranded by Warner Bros Discovery, has also drawn scrutiny for shedding a number of high-profile titles, though the removals are part of the larger reckoning with the daunting economics of streaming. The long-promised nirvana for consumers of a nearly endless storehouse of available titles has collided with the reality of how much that costs to sustain, both in terms of technology...

From Paul Lee’s perspective, the streaming boom that led Hollywood to binge on original content has evolved significantly during his half-dozen years as CEO of production company Wiip.
Over the past year, the industry has been through “a moment where the streaming revolution went from a land grab to ‘This land needs to be fertile,’ ” Lee says on the latest episode of Variety podcast “Strictly Business.”
Lee spent a dozen years at Disney, rising to become head of ABC Family and later head of ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios. He’s mostly kept a low profile since launching Wiip in partnership with CAA in 2016.
In its short life, Wiip has scored with such series as HBO’s “Mare of Easttown” and “The White House Plumbers,” Amazon Prime Video’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” Apple TV+’s “Dickinson,” FX’s “Pistol” and more to come. In June 2021, South Korea...
