Fighter never strays far from the path that other movies like it have previously charted, but it still delivers most of what it promises.

While vast in scope, Fighters perfectly weaponizes the magnitude of its stars and utilizes their shared likability to build a real sense of camaraderie among the squadron. This emotional investment proves vital.

Fighter delivers exactly what you’d expect from an Indian military blockbuster – excitement, passion and a level of patriotism that’s equivalent to being repeatedly punched in the face with the Indian tricolour.

At some point, you either throw up your hands at any of these military recruitment films — American, Chinese or Indian — or just go with them, no matter how silly they start to seem, each in its own culturally-distinct silly ways. I just consistently roll my eyes and opt for the former.
