Moving film about processing the loss of a wife and mother

It's a touching German movie that wasn't so successful in the cinemas in 2022 which is sad. In fact it has more than a good TV film and it would had deserved more attention and acknowledgment. From my point of view it doesn't content the usual and predictable ingredients of a family drama. It shows some other aspects of deep grief and the trial to deal with it. The acting of Frederick Lau and his colleagues is "true to touch" and traceable. I like the way Frederick Lau acts in his movies. It seems to me that he puts some parts of his own character in his roles. So have your tissues ready for this sad and touchy story. Not an easy topic but well transposed.

Absolutely worth watching!

Life without her

No pun intended - losing a loved one is not easy. There are steps or whatever they are called for people to deal with such a thing. And the longer one lives, the more people that person will possibly have to mourn (of course always depending on how outgoing and open one is to relationships - different kinds of - and how large of a family one has and how close they are and so forth) ... that all said, the movie makes it clear that our main character has issues with dealing with any of that.

And having a daughter does not make it easier. Frederik Lau has proven beyond a doubt that he is one of the best young actors working in Germany. I am a bit surprised - not that the movie was not successful! People try to watch things that are more cheerful - especially at the moment. But that the rating is so low ... but that is also something that is subjective ... I would say acting is great here and if you are down with the drama ... well you have a really good movie right here ...
