Cloud Atlas

9/10

Ambitious and great

Just the concept of six story's set in six time periods and Tom Hanks playing a total of six roles and all connected in several ways is amazing. The fact that they pulled it off is amazing. All six stories are interesting, some more than others, and you keep looking for the small or big connections through out the movie. They never make clear connections between the stories but this leads much to your own imagination.

This movie does much right. The casting is great and using the same actor for several characters in the different time periods are done so well that you don't care when you notice it. The plot is great and I noticed no plot holes. The movie is beautiful too and I found Seoul in year 2114 absolutely fantastic. mood, twists and jokes were made really well throughout the whole film.

So what does this movie not deserve a 10/10 from me? The characters weren't as good as I wanted them to be. There were so many characters that I can't recall their names and most of them lack depth. This is the only thing that bothered me in the movie. Overall Cloud atlas is a great movie that you should see. The complex story might put off some people but personally I loved it.
