Ek Tho Chance and Saluun produced by Pritish Nandy Communications have won top honours at the 43rd Worldfest Houston.

Saluun, directed by first time director Nikhil Bhat won the Silver Remi award. Ek Tho Chance directed by Saeed Akhtar Mirza, won the Special Jury Award in the Foreign Features category. The ten day festival ran from April 9-18.

“The jury members decided that Saluun should be awarded the Silver Remi award for its honest effort at showing the spirit of rural India and its intelligent humour and Ek Tho Chance, the Special Jury Award for its high-value content and cinematic excellence," says Kathleen Haney, Program Director, WorldFest Houston.

The 43rd WorldFest Houston International Film Festival will feature Pnc's Ek Tho Chance (Last Chance Mumbai), directed by Saeed Akhtar Mirza, and Saluun, directed by first time director Nikhil Bhat. The ten day festival starts on April 9th 2010 and runs till April 18th.

Both these films have been nominated for Remi awards in the feature film category at this year's festival. Director Saeed Akhtar Mirza will be attending the festival along with debutant director Nikhil Bhat.

New Delhi, March 30 – Pritish Nandy Communications’ feature films ‘Saluun’ and ‘Ek Tho Chance’ will be screened at the 43rd WorldFest Houston International Film Festival next month.

A tribute to middle class India, ‘Saluun’ is based on a true incident. Set in a small town in Maharashtra, the film depicts how the common people teache a lesson to corrupt government officials.

The film is Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s first directorial venture.

Three Indian films will be competing for the prestigious Remi awards at the 43rd Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film and Video Festival starting from April 9.
