‘Our Flag Means Death’ Star, 51, Addresses Hopes of Revisiting the HBO Series
Image
Despite a passionate fan base and a campaign that has seen everything from social media rallies to physical billboards, Our Flag Means Death remains docked. But in this industry, nothing is ever a foregone conclusion. The pirate comedy, created by David Jenkins and starring Rhys Darby as the unhinged “Gentleman Pirate” Stede Bonnet, was axed by HBO after just two seasons. Now, with most of the creative crew moving on to new ventures, including Darby himself, everyone is eager to find out if there's any light at the end of this tunnel.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, conducted by John Orquiola, Darby addressed the future, or lack thereof, of the series. The conversation primarily centered around Darby’s latest project, a guest role in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3. But the question that’s been on every fan's mind inevitably surfaced — Is there still hope for Our...

NBC Kills Grosse Pointe Garden Society After One Season
Melissa Fumero at an event for Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)
NBC has pulled the plug on Grosse Pointe Garden Society two weeks after its first-season finale, confirming that the murder-tinged dramedy will not return and will not shift to Peacock as some insiders had hoped. The decision ends creator-showrunners Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs’ suburban whodunit after just 13 episodes and fewer than five months on the air.

Warning signs had mounted when the series was relocated from a solid Sunday 10 p.m. berth to Friday at 8 p.m., a slot networks often reserve for low-priority titles. Nielsen data show premiere viewership of 1.79 million slipped to 1.37 million for the May 16 finale, though Peacock streams reportedly outperformed linear numbers.

Stars reacted swiftly online. Melissa Fumero posted “Will miss our Gpgs family” on Instagram Stories, while co-lead Jennifer Irwin thanked fans for “keeping the plants blooming even in winter.” On X, cast members reposted Deadline’s headline with a broken-heart emoji and the refrain “This one stings.

‘So indescribable and special’: ‘Happy’s Place’ stars Belissa Escobedo and Melissa Peterman on working with Reba McEntire
Image
"It feels very nostalgic," says Melissa Peterman of the new sitcom Happy's Place, which has hit the airwaves "in a time where I think people are hungry for that feeling." What's unique about the series, which reunites Peterman with her Reba costar Reba McEntire, is that it features "a lot of characters that we haven't often seen in a sitcom. I love the makeup of our cast. I love what each actor brings to that character from their own life, and their own upbringing and background, which I think is very unique."

Another costar, Belissa Escobedo, grew up watching sitcoms because her mother loved them so much, and as she told Gold Derby, "something I always found was I want to see more people who look like me on these sitcoms." That's certainly the case with Happy's Place, which has six main cast members, three of which are people of color.

Is CGI-Heavy Big Bang Theory Spinoff Poised to Be a Superhero Satire?
Image
The latest Big Bang Theory universe expansion has the potential to look and feel unlike any offshoot that came before it — and based on several clues, I’m beginning to think it will.

Whereas Young Sheldon served as a prequel chronicling Sheldon Cooper’s childhood, and sequel-to-the-prequel Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has continued that story but shifted focus to Sheldon’s older brother and sister-in-law, HBO Max’s Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will serve as a direct continuation, and pick up after the events of Big Bang’s 2019 series finale.

Richard Kind Says He’s the ‘Luckiest Guy’ as Career Soars: ‘I Just Like Going to Work and Playing Pretend’
Image
Richard Kind is at the peak of his career, and he is thankful for every minute of it. In a recent interview with Variety, the veteran performer talked about his recent string of high-profile appearances, which included recurring roles in “Only Murders in the Building,” “Mid-Century Modern,” and “Night Court,” and as announcer on “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.”

Mulaney, Kind said, described him as being “both 1940 and 2025 at the same time.”

“I think that that’s what I do for him,” Kind explained. “He is so of today. He has musical taste and cultural references that I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about. But I would follow him anywhere. I trust him.”

He added that he is working “as much as [he] ever did,” he just happens to be doing more frequently in living rooms than on stage, so more people are noticing.

“Really the thing is,...

Real Reason Why ‘Night Court’ on NBC Was Canceled After Season 3
Image
Well, it looks like the gavel has come down on Night Court, and this time, there’s no appeal. Yep, NBC’s revival of the beloved ‘80s courtroom comedy brought back all the quirky charm, fast-paced humor, and of course, John Larroquette as the ever-sarcastic Dan Fielding. Definitely, it had everything, from nostalgia, eccentric defendants, awkward flirtations, to bailiffs who knew how to throw side-eyes.

For three seasons, Night Court gave us throwback laughs with a modern twist. Sadly, just when we started to feel like the courtroom was back in session for good, NBC shut the door right to our faces. Yup, the revival has officially been canceled after season 3, leaving us with courtroom chaos wondering what went wrong. Of course, it had its loyal audience and a strong start, but unfortunately, the show struggled to hold its case in NBC’s primetime lineup. So, guys, the court is adjourned and for good.

Night Court (2023)
Has ‘Night Court’ been renewed for Season 4? Here’s what we know!
Night Court (2023)
NBC’s Night Court revival brought a fresh comedic spark to prime time with its quirky courtroom antics, offbeat characters, and nostalgic nods to the original 1984 classic. Starring Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone—daughter of the late Judge Harry Stone—the show balanced zany humor with heartwarming moments, winning over longtime fans and new viewers alike. After a successful three-season run and decent viewership, fans were hopeful for a fourth. However, the gavel has dropped on Night Court for good—NBC has officially canceled the series, and while there was a brief effort to shop it around for a season 4, things aren’t looking promising for a return. Here’s a full breakdown of what we know.

Will there be a Night Court Season 4?

NBC’s revival of Night Court delivered three seasons of light-hearted legal hijinks, nostalgic callbacks, and charming performances, especially from Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone...

‘Night Court’ Gets Another Grim Verdict After NBC Cancellation
Image
The 2024-2025 TV season has ended, and now audience members can look forward to networks throwing up new shows and brand-new seasons of their favorite ones. However, prior to the network shows taking a break, several shows were axed. Over at NBC, in early May, the verdict came in regarding the network's courtroom comedy, Night Court. Starring Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone, it was announced that the show, which is a reboot of the classic Reinhold Weege sitcom, will not be returning for a fourth season. With NBC locking up the gates of the courthouse, will we see the comedy continue elsewhere?

While we Night Court fans might be hoping that NBC might be willing to shop the comedy series out, recent reports don't offer much hope. Per TV Line, "early efforts to shop the sitcom revival have thus far come up empty," the report says in part, adding,...

Image
NBC unfortunately canceled 5 TV shows this year so far, and fans of the series Night Court were very upset.

The series aired its third season finale this year, but when it was time to decide on the show’s fate, the peacock network opted not to renew the comedy TV fan favorite for a fourth season.

But, many are wondering, is there a chance it could be shopped around and renewed by another competing network?

Head inside for what is being reported at this time…

Unfortunately, it’s not looking like good news at this time.

TV Line‘s Matt Webb Mitovich revealed, “Early efforts to shop the sitcom revival, which was cancelled after three seasons on NBC, have thus far come up empty, I am told, so the eventual verdict is looking…not great.”

The Wheel Of Time Season 4 Gets Definitive Update After Prime Video Cancellation
Image
Following the headline-grabbing cancellation of the Prime Video fantasy series, The Wheel of Timeseason 4 gets a clarifying and definitive update. An adaptation of the novels by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, with Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike in a central role, and Rafe Judkins as showrunner, the sprawling drama got off to a strong start when it debuted in 2021. But facing ratings that were less than expected and a hefty price tag, the fate of The Wheel of Time was sealed when the show's cancellation was announced in late May.

TVLinereports that, according to well-placed sources, there are no plans to shop The Wheel of Time around to other potential platforms. There was some hope that the fantasy saga could end up being rescued by another streaming service, paving the way for a fourth installment. But, per the latest update, that will not be happening.

The Effort To Save Night Court Gets A Disappointing Update After NBC Canceled The Revival
Image
The chances of Night Courtseason 4 getting saved get a disappointing update. Debuting on NBC in January 2023, with Dan Rubin as showrunner, the reboot of the popular 1980s sitcom is headlined by The Big Bang Theory alum Melissa Rauch as Abby Stone. The daughter of the late Harry Stone, Abby soon links up with original Night Court character Dan Fielding (John Larroquette). Although the comedy got off to a strong start, ratings dropped sharply soon after its high-profile premiere. The reboot was cancelled in May after three seasons.

It had been mentioned that Warner Bros. Television, one of the production companies behind the reboot, would shop the series to other potential platforms after it was axed by NBC. But in an update from TVLine, it's mentioned that the chances of Night Court season 4 happening are “not great”:

‘Big Mouth’ says goodbye: cast and creators talk sex ed, celebrity crushes, and what’s next
Image
It wouldn’t be a Big Mouth gathering if someone from the Netflix animated series didn’t offer up an embarrassing sexual factoid from their own adolescent history. And it was Ayo Edebiri who took the prize during a post-screening Q&a session at the Egyptian Theatre for the show’s eighth and final season, revealing a roster of surprisingly eclectic childhood celebrity crushes.

Edebiri, who began as a writer on the show in its fourth season before taking over the role of Missy — and later becoming a breakout star as a writer, producer, and Emmy-winning actress on The Bear — rattled off a string of TV favorites that had captured her young fancy.

There was Tony Danza (“I used to have a big crush on him [from] Who’s the Boss reruns”), Tony Shalhoub, and The Famous Jett Jackson star Lee Thompson Young (“age-appropriate”). “And I liked John Ritter,” she added,...

It came down to less than half a percentage point, but CBS’ crime drama The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah, took home the top spot with 13.8% of the vote. Upfronts 2025 Takeaways & Report Card: Amazon and Netflix Return Strong, Scripted Programming Purged on Broadcast
Image
Music always plays a large role at the annual TV upfronts, as media buyers, journalists, execs and other attendees are ushered in and out of these showcases to loud playlists — often spun by celebrity DJs. But this year, one number heard throughout the week came with a hefty dose of irony: Doechii’s popular track “Anxiety.”

In the song, Doechii sings about how her anxiety “keep on trying me / My anxiety, can’t shake it off of me.” Perhaps a bit too on the nose for the media congloms to be piping into Radio City Music Hall, the Hammerstein Ballroom and other upfronts venues. After all, no matter how hard media execs try to spin that things are fine — that’s hardly the case: Production is down, budgets keep getting slashed and studios like Paramount Global (still awaiting news on its Skydance merger) continue to be the subject of speculation about their ultimate survival.

George Wendt
George Wendt, the Beer-Loving Norm on ‘Cheers,’ Dies at 77
George Wendt
George Wendt, who bellied up to the bar to portray the beer-quaffing everyman Norm Peterson for all 11 seasons of the fabled NBC sitcom Cheers, has died. He was 77.

Wendt died peacefully in his sleep at home, his family confirmed early Tuesday morning.

“George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him,” a rep for Wendt said in a statement. “He will be missed forever. The family has requested privacy during this time.”

Born in Chicago and raised on the South Side, Wendt got his start in the 1970s with Second City, the famed improvisational comedy troupe that was based in his hometown.

Later, he popped up on Saturday Night Live as Bob Swerski, one of the “superfans” who gathered at Coach Mike Ditka’s restaurant in the Windy City to watch “Da Bears.”

Wendt appeared in movies including...

Why NBC Canceled Shanola Hampton's Found After Two Seasons
Image
Fans of NBC's mystery series "Found" are going to have to look elsewhere to get their dose of fictional missing persons cases now that the series has been canceled by the network after two seasons. As was reported by Deadline, the show will not be returning for a season 3, meaning the season 2 finale will serve as the series finale.

According to a separate report from Variety, Warner Bros. Television, which produces "Found," is going to see if it can find a new home for the show, be it a streaming service or another network. This sort of thing has happened plenty of times in the past, like when "Designated Survivor" went from ABC to Netflix or "Lucifer" moved from Fox to Netflix. So, while it's possible, for the time being fans need to come to grips with the fact that Gabi Mosely may well be retired.

"Found" itself centers...

Why NBC Canceled The Irrational After Two Seasons
Image
Jesse L. Martin is a treasure. I was incredibly fortunate to see him originate the role of Tom Collins on Broadway in the legendary 1996 production of "Rent" (after it transferred from its first home at the New York Theatre Workshop), and I walked out of that performance excited to see what he'd do next. That wound up being "Law & Order," where Martin put in 198 episodes of work as Detective Ed Green. This was a decade-long assignment that, for the most part, took him off the film and theater market. Given how extraordinarily well network television pays if you're a main cast member, you can't begrudge a working actor for prioritizing a regular paycheck.

As an occasional "Law & Order" viewer, Martin has only ever been terrific as Green. But as the years have passed, you can't help but get greedy as a viewer and wonder why he doesn't challenge himself more often.

Happy Gilmore 2 will be tinged with sadness after latest news
Image
Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2 is going to be a hoot. Even the trailer brings some laughs, and we can assume, based on the previous Happy Gilmore, that the flick will be worth watching. It might not be Oscar material, but that isn't the point. The point is to have a fun time.

The sequel will, of course, star Sandler as Happy but also feature Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, and, of course, Christopher McDonald. There will also be a number of cameos from well-known celebrities and athletes.

One part of the original film that will not be part of the second is an alligator named Morris. Unfortunately, he passed away recently from old age at his gator farm home in Colorado. Based on his teeth and growth rate, he was presumed to be around 80 years old. But he wasn't just a one-film star.

Morris the...

New Grosse Point Garden Society Season 2 Still In Question. NBC Hasn’t Renewed It Yet
Image
According to TheWrap, and their sources, NBC has yet to renew Grosse Point Garden Society for a brand new season 2 as of this writing. They're telling us that an NBC scheduling executive is claiming that a season 2 renewal from NBC seems unlikely right now, but plans to possibly move it to NBC's Peacock streaming service is being discussed. They're also saying that NBC didn't include Grosse Point Garden Society in their 2025-2026 schedule. NBC has gone on a cancelling spree as of late, cancelling “Suits LA,” “Found,” “The Irrational,” “Night Court” and “Lopez vs Lopez.” Showrunner Jenna Bans made a statement about Grosse Point Garden Society's future stating, "We know we have a lot of support at the network and people love it creatively, so we’re just hopeful they’ll find a way to bring us back. It might not be a traditional way, but we’ll see.

Inside NBC Cancellations: Why ‘Brilliant Minds’ and ‘The Hunting Party’ Survived and ‘Suits LA,’ ‘Found’ Didn’t
Image
NBC’s lineup underwent a bloodbath ahead of welcoming back the NBA this fall, when “Found,” “Suits: LA,” “The Irrational,” “Night Court” and “Lopez vs Lopez” were all canceled. While fans of the series lamented the cancellations, a closer look at the ratings explains why freshman shows “Brilliant Minds” and “The Hunting Party” joined the ranks of renewed series while others didn’t make the cut.

NBC’s three “Chicago” series, all of which scored renewals, were the network’s most-watched shows of the season, according to multiplatform live-plus-35-day viewing figures, with “Chicago Fire” averaging 10.36 million viewers, and “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Med” at 10.05 million and 9.59 million, respectively. Like past years, the “Chicagos” and two “Law & Order” shows were consistent hits, with “Law & Order: Svu” and the original “Law & Order” bringing in 8.92 million and 6.76 million average viewers.

Notably, “Brilliant Minds” and “The Hunting Party” — the only...

Morris The Alligator, Star of ‘Alligator’, Has Passed Away Peacefully in His Colorado Home
Image
Our hearts go out to the proprietors of the Colorado Gators Reptile Park in Colorado. We recently learned that the organization’s most senior resident, Morris (an alligator with a Hollywood resume that would make many blush), passed away on Sunday.

Morris is best known to horror fans for his epic turn in the 1980 creature feature Alligator. The camera-ready gator began a career in show business when he landed with the animal trainers at Brocketts Film Fauna in 1975. Morris proved a quick study and remained in their care, making somewhat regular feature film and television appearances until retiring at the Colorado Gators Reptile Park in 2006. Morris lived there until his recent passing.

It’s quite clear that the folks at the Colorado-based animal sanctuary loved him dearly. Proprietor Jay Young broke the news Monday via the organization’s Facebook page.

“Colorado Gators is sad to report the passing away of our oldest alligator,...

I Can’t Hate NBC Exec’s 3 Reasons Why Suits: LA Was Canceled After 39% Rt Rating For Gabriel Macht’s Spin Off
Image
After all the hype NBC built around a Suits spinoff, the network decided to cancel Suits: LA after its first season. As the network announced its fall schedule, it was clear that execs had to make some major sacrifices to make room for the NBA season. While shows like Found, The Irrational, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Night Court also received the axe, I was not expecting Suits: LA‘s scrapping.

Honestly, the show failed to take advantage of the popularity of its prequel show, starring Gabriel Macht. While I expected something similar in tone to Suits, the LA version failed to make a case for itself. NBC president of program planning strategy came on record to explain why the spinoff wasn’t getting a second season.

Why Was ‘Suits LA’ Canceled? NBC Boss Explains
Image
Suits LA isn’t making it past its first season on NBC. It was one of the shows to get the axe on May 9, along with Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, The Irrational, and Found. NBC had to make some big lineup changes due to the return of the NBA to the network, and unfortunately, Suits LA just didn’t make the cut. Jeff Bader, the president of programming strategy, explained the decision during a conference call. “Suits [LA] had a very short run, but it really just has not resonated the way we thought it would,” he said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “There can be many, many reasons. People are speculating why it hasn’t resonated, but it’s just not really showing the potential to grow for us in the future, unfortunately.” Bader acknowledged that these are just “the decisions we have to make,” adding, “We have to look...

The fall lineup kicks off in September with the return of The Voice, with Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire coaching season 28. October brings the NBA back to NBC, and then in November the network debuts new seasons of returning comedies Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical.

NBC expands its comedy lineup with The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe. And the network has pilots of Stumble...

Fox Unveils Unscripted-Heavy Fall Schedule Featuring Surprise NBC Series
Image
Fox is switching things up like never before during the 2025-2026 TV season, and it’s bad news for fans of scripted TV.

The network will air just two live-action scripted dramas: Doc and Murder in a Small Town.

The drama duo will air on Tuesdays, meaning every other weeknight will be devoted to unscripted offerings.

After so many cancellations and so few scripted series in the network’s pipeline, it was inevitable that executives would reach this decision.

But still, it stings for many reasons. It showcases how far the broadcast networks have fallen regarding ratings, impacting profitability.

"Many, Many Reasons": Here's Why ‘Suits: LA’ Was Cancelled
Image
The verdict on Suits: LA’s future is out, and it’s not the one that favors fans. The cancellation of the series ahead of the first season’s finale came as a blow to fans who enjoyed Stephen Amell and his team’s efforts to save the firm. The spin-off came after the mothership Suits gained streaming popularity on various services and quickly got a pilot order from original show creator Aaron Korshat the helm. Nonetheless, as per Jeff Bader, NBCUniversal’s President of Program Planning Strategy, the show didn’t show enough promise to warrant another season.

“Suits: LA had a very short run, but it really has not resonated [with audiences in] the way we thought it would,” Bader revealed. The series was another legal drama that followed an ex-New York City federal prosecutor turned Los Angeles entertainment lawyer, Ted Black, whose Black Lane Law firm represents powerful clients in...

NBC’s Surprise Cancellation of ‘Found’ Sees Fans Rally to Rescue Show
Image
As several network shows tied off their seasonal runs, it meant that networks had to make some tough decisions regarding which shows stayed on and which got the ax. NBC is no different. The network axed several shows, including Night Court and the legal drama, Suits LA, and somewhat surprisingly, the procedural thriller,Found, was also cancelled. The show has two episodes left, with no heads up from the network, the cancellation decision has caused some uproar. A full-throttle campaign has been launched by fans, cast members, and even industry players to see the show rescued by other platforms and given another lease of life.

The first season premiered in 2023 with a strong premiere that drew 10.5 million viewers across platforms. Found introduced audiences to Gabi (Shanola Hampton), a professional at Mosely and Associates, a firm dedicated to finding missing people especially the numerous number that fall through the cracks of the criminal justice system.

'The Hunting Party' and 'Brilliant Minds' Survive Another Year on NBC
Image
Following NBC's shocking cancellation of Suits LA last week after just one season, the network has decided the fate of two of its more popular new shows. Both The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds will return for Season 2 in the fall, so fans of the crime drama and the medical procedural have nothing to worry about – at least for now.

Variety reported on the renewals this morning as NBC announced its fall 2025 schedule during its upfront presentation in New York. Debuting back in January, The Hunting Party's premiere episode garnered 3.67 million viewers, with the 10-episode first season averaging an overall total of 4.26 million. Meanwhile, Brilliant Minds hit the airwaves in September 2024 to 3.92 million viewers, with its 13-episode first season averaging a total of 4.3 million. By contrast, Suits LA's first episode was watched by just 2.61 million viewers, with its low point being episode 10, "Slugfest," which was seen by only 0.97 million people.

Tracy Morgan's 30 Rock Replacement Starring Daniel Radcliffe Receives Exciting Update
Image
In early March, it was announced that NBC had a new replacement for 30 Rock fans. The new comedy would also feature Harry Potter lead actor Daniel Radcliffe.

Initially, the comedy series only had an order for a pilot. The 30 Rock replacement sitcom would also feature Tracy Morgan in the leading role, who would reunite with several colleagues, including co-showrunners Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, as well as writer Sam Means. Per Deadline, the comedy series has received a massive update, as it has officially received the title The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, and NBC picked up the single-camera comedy pilot to series.

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Season 1 will reportedly consist of 10 episodes. NBC hasn't officially announced a release schedule, and its short episode count indicates a midseason launch. The comedy is not part of NBC's recently announced schedule for September and October, which...

Suits: L.A. (2025)
NBC Cancels Suits: LA and Four Other Series in Lineup Revision
Suits: L.A. (2025)
NBCUniversal’s president of program planning strategy, Jeff Bader, confirmed that Suits: LA will end after its first season, joining Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, The Irrational and Found on the cancellation list. The decision clears slots for the NBA’s return and reflects shifting viewer engagement.

“Shows must connect with audiences and show signs of future growth,” Bader told reporters. “Suits: LA ran briefly but didn’t meet our expectations. We reviewed linear ratings, streaming figures and audience trends before making tough calls.”

The Suits offshoot, starring Stephen Amell with guest turns from Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman, averaged 2.1 million viewers over 11 episodes. The Irrational led the cancellations at 4.4 million, followed by Found (3.7 million), Lopez vs. Lopez (2.3 million) and Night Court (2.2 million).

Bader said NBC explored moving these titles to Peacock but no pickups are planned. Chicago Fire remains the network’s top drama at 7.7 million viewers, earning renewals for that series,...

How NBC Picked What to Cancel to Make Room for ‘Our Biggest New Show’ — the NBA — and What to Keep
Image
Only two bubble shows were promised futures after NBC’s all-day Friday cancellation of five shows.

The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds were both renewed (for full, second seasons in the 18- to 22-episode range) — but the news wasn’t anywhere near as good for the following, longer-running programs: Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, Found, The Irrational and Suits LA. (Grosse Pointe Garden Society‘s fate is currently, theoretically Tbd.)

NBC’s Jeff Bader Answers For Cancellation Of ‘Suits: LA’ & More: “It’s So Hard To Talk About Shows And Which Ones We’re Bringing Back”
Image
There was a lot of excitement about reviving Suits, which made the cancellation of the Stephen Amell starrer Suits: LA on Friday all the more surprising.

When asked over the weekend why the spinoff from Suits creator Aaron Korsh had to go, NBCUniversal’s President of Program Planning Strategy Jeff Bader admitted “it’s so hard to talk about shows and which ones we’re bringing back.”

“Suits: LA had a very short run, but it really has not resonated [with audiences in] the way we thought it would,” Bader told reporters during a press conference on Saturday. “There can be many, many reasons why it hasn’t resonated, but it’s just not showing the potential to grow for us in the future, unfortunately. Those are the decisions we had to make.”

Bader said there were number of considerations they had to make before spiking Suits: LA, along with The Irrational, Night Court,...

‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ Not Canceled Yet, NBC Ponders Move to Peacock
Image
While the chances for “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” to score a Season 2 renewal from NBC aren’t looking great, there’s possibility the freshman drama series could move to Peacock — a potential fate that is “still being discussed” according to one NBC scheduling exec.

The drama series from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs was not included in NBC’s 2025-26 schedule, which revealed Season 2 renewals for “Brilliant Minds” and “The Hunting Party” alongside all three “Chicago” series, “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Svu.”

Bader noted a potential move to Peacock was discussed for every show that did not make the cut for NBC’s lineup next season. The impending move of the NBA to Tuesdays nights prompted a flurry of cancellations Friday, including dramas “Suits LA,” “Found” and “The Irrational,” and comedy series “Night Court” and “Lopez vs Lopez.”

A potential move to the NBCUniversal-owned Peacock was...

Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe Comedy Series, the NBA Lead NBC’s 2025-26 Lineup
Image
NBC has greenlit a new comedy series starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe, which leads the network’s 2025-26 alongside the NBA.

The new series, titled “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” focuses on a disgraced former football player (Morgan), who is on a mission to rehabilitate his image, according to the official logline. It is executive produced by “30 Rock” creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” will debut in the 2025-26 alongside returning comedies “St. Denis Medical” and “Happy’s Place” which took the coveted comedy slots on Monday and Friday upon the cancellations of “Night Court” and “Lopez vs Lopez.”

“The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” will either be slotted after “St. Denis Medical” on Mondays or after “Happy’s Place” on Fridays, with an additional slot open for NBC comedy pilots — which include “Stumble” from Jeff and Liz Astrof and...

Why ‘Suits LA’ Was One and Done
Image
No one had Suits (2011-19) being the hit show of 2023, but after it was, very few would have had the inevitable spinoff, Suits LA, canceled weeks before even finishing out its first season.

Suits LA was unceremoniously thrown on the NBC scrap heap Friday, along with four other series: Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, The Irrational and Found. The broadcast network had to clean house for the return of the NBA to its airwaves.

But if any of those five were hits, NBC executives would have found a time slot.

“It’s so hard to talk about shows and which ones you bring back,” Jeff Bader, NBC’s president of programming strategy, said on a conference call with media the following day. “Suits (LA) has had a very short run, but it really just has not resonated the way we thought it would. There can be many, many reasons — people...

‘Poker Face’: Simon Helberg on Singing Sondheim With John Mulaney and ‘Getting Into the S—‘ During Big Shootout Scene
Image
Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “Poker Face” Season 2, Episode 3, now streaming on Peacock.

FBI agent Luca Clark (Simon Helberg) returned for more action in Episode 3 of “Poker Face,” which is in the midst of a second season boasting more murders, more Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) investigations and more guest stars — including stand-up comedian John Mulaney.

Rian Johnson’s charming murder-of-the-week show features different marquee guest stars in every episode. But since Helberg plays one of the show’s few recurring characters, he’s had a chance to grow the trajectory of Luca since Season 1.

“It’s exciting to see how he fumbles up the ladder, starting from driving around geriatric retired ex-cons in witness protection, all the way to cracking these really significant cases for the FBI and getting into the shit,” Helberg tells Variety. “As an actor, it’s a real dream because I haven’t gotten to...

NBC Cancels Found Ahead Of The Season 2 Finale
Image
Foundhas been cancelled by NBC after just two seasons. It's been a difficult day for viewers of the network's primetime lineup, as several dramas and comedies have been axed from the network in just a matter of hours. Night Court, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Suits: LA have all been cancelled. Two other series, which seemed to have a promising chance to be renewed, have arrived at the end of the road.

Deadline has confirmed that the missing persons' crime drama Found has been cancelled by NBC. Warner Bros. Television, which produces the Shanola Hampton-led show, may consider finding a new home for the project. Although executives at Warner Bros. TV were optimistic about the show's renewal chances, it was reported that steep viewership declines and shifting budget priorities factored into the cancellation decision. The Irrational was also cancelled by NBC, after two seasons, for similar reasons.

The crazy courtroom won't be back for the 2025-26 TV season. NBC has cancelled Night Court and any plans for a fourth season. The show's third season, which aired 18 episodes, ended on a cliffhanger on Tuesday.

A workplace comedy series, the Night Court TV show stars Melissa Rauch, Lacretta, Wendie Malick, Nyambi Nyambi, and John Larroquette. The new story follows Abracadabra “Abby” Stone (Rauch), a judge following in the footsteps of her revered late father, Judge Harry Stone (Harry Anderson). If you loved NBC’s police procedural crime thriller-drama series Found, then we have some bad news for you. According to Deadline, NBC has chosen to cancel the Shanola Hampton-led series after its second season.

The news of cancelation comes before Found airs its Season 2 finale, which very well could be now the series finale. While it is a discouraging news for the fans, all is not lost as Found’s lead studio, Warner Bros. Television, is looking to shop the series around to other networks and streaming services.

Found follows Gabi, a public relations specialist and crisis manager, as she works with her team to find America’s missing people who have been ignored or forgotten by the media and the government. Gabi was a victim of kidnapping, and now she is holding her kidnapper captive...

The Irrational (2023)
‘The Irrational’ Canceled After Season 2 By NBC
The Irrational (2023)
When you purchase through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

It seems that NBC is no longer interested in making more of its police procedural crime drama series, The Irrational, as the Jessie L. Martin-led series has been canceled by NBC after two seasons.

The biggest possible reason behind The Irrational’s cancellation is possibly its weak ratings, as the police procedural series started off well in its first season but saw a big decline during the run of its second season.

Created by Arika Mittman, the NBC series is based on the 2008 book Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely. It follows Alec Mercer, who’s one of the biggest names in the world of behavioral science. He uses his expertise to assist government authorities in solving complex criminal cases.

The Irrational stars L. Martin as Professor Alec Mercer, Maahra Hill as FBI Special Agent Marisa Clark, Arash DeMaxi as Rizwan Asadi,...

If you loved the new Suits spin-off series Suits: L.A., then we have some bad news for you, as NBC has decided not to continue the spin-off series. Suits L.A. will be the second spin-off to be canceled after only a single season, with Pearson being the first.

There could be many reasons behind NBC’s decision to cancel the Suits L.A. series as the flagship series is one of the most watched shows of recent times and given its p opularity NBC had high expectations from the spin-off but their expectations never materialized even with the original creator Aaron Korsh and fan-favorite Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman reprising their roles of Harvey Specter and Louis Litt.

Suits L.A. Canceled By NBC After Just 1 Season
Image
Stephen Amell’s time leading Suits LA is coming to an end after only one season. Serving as the second spinoff series based on the original Suits, Amell’s show followed the exploits of entertainment lawyer Ted Black and his Los Angeles-based firm Black Lane. Developed off the back of an unprecedented surge in Suits viewership on streaming services in 2023, the franchise’s latest spinoff series debuted in February this year with guest appearances from several original cast members, including Harvey Specter’s Gabriel Macht.

Per Deadline, NBC has officially cancelled Suits LA after just one season. Despite considerable interest in the project thanks to the original show’s streaming resurgence, viewership numbers for the show are reported to have sat consistently just over the 1 million mark on linear in Live+Same Day, following the series debut that pulled in 2.6 million viewers. The latest cancellation also coincides with NBC’s decision to axe other shows,...

'Lopez Vs. Lopez' Canceled at NBC After 3 Seasons
Image
Popular comedian George Lopez has been starring alongside his daughter, Mayan Lopez, in the NBC multi-camera sitcom, Lopez Vs. Lopez, for the past three seasons. Unfortunately for fans of the series, its most recent season finale was also a series one, as NBC has officially canceled the series ahead of NBCUniversal's Upfronts presentation on May 12, 2025, in New York City. It was the last of the network's comedies to receive word of its future prospects, with Night Court also getting the axe earlier in the day.

Lopez Vs. Lopez is one of several sitcoms the stand-up comedian has created and starred in over the years. Prior to this, Lopez also starred in his eponymous ABC series, George Lopez, the one-season FX sitcom Saint George, Lopez for TV Land (which ran for two seasons), and even had a brief stint as a late-night host for two seasons on TBS. So it...

Roundball Rocked: With NBA Return Looming, NBC Purges Scripted Roster
Image
In the past two seasons, NBC canceled a total of five series — two at the end of 2023-24 and three in 2022-23.

It matched that total on Friday, cutting five shows in the largest single-season purge of its scripted lineup since the 2020-21 season (not including pre-announced series finales). Comedies Lopez vs. Lopez and Night Court and dramas Found, The Irrational and Suits LA were all scrapped (though Night Court producer Warner Bros. says it will try to find a new home for the show). First-year dramas Brilliant Minds, Grosse Pointe Garden Society and The Hunting Party were still in limbo as of Friday afternoon; NBC will announce its 2025-26 schedule on Monday, ahead of its upfront presentation.

While NBC has been slow to swing the cancellation ax in recent years, the wave of cuts Friday isn’t a huge surprise. In fact, network has a couple billion reasons to...
