No reason is ever given. She's just crazy. She tortures and kills people for the sole purpose to watch them die. It is, however, suspected that she has some fascination with the pain of others, perhaps to make up for the fact that she herself hates pain (as most sadists do.) She overreacts to the smallest injuries, like when she cut her hand to the equivalent of a paper cut and she runs around panicking.
The Unrated Version, also called Unrated Director's Cut, runs approx. 4 minutes longer than the R-Rated Version of the movie and contains several extended gore scenes that have been cut out for the R-Rated Version. In total 25 scenes were trimmed and therefore the Unrated Version is the only satisfying cut for genre fans.
The UK Version lacks the penis scene, just like the US R-Rated Version does. But in comparison to the Unrated Version, the UK Version only lacks 18 sec of footage. The scene is still reasonable, only three close-ups have been removed.
