Star Trek: 3 Quark and Rom moments that all siblings can relate to
Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, Colm Meaney, Nana Visitor, Avery Brooks, Armin Shimerman, Rene Auberjonois, Cirroc Lofton, and Alexander Siddig in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993)
If you have siblings, then you probably appreciate the relationship between the Ferengi brothers, Quark and Rom on Deep Space Nine.

Rom's often-naive outlook drives Quark mad, and Rom has a deep affection for his brother, even when Quark uses him. So sit back and revisit 3 times Quark and Rom made siblings all over the world say, "I can relate!"

1. Rom tells Quark the truth about their father

Sometimes, older siblings in the family have an idealized version of a parent that they refuse to let go of. In "Family Business" (S3E23), Quark and Rom discover that their mother, Ishka, has been arrested on Ferenginar for earning profit, something...

I Watched These 8 Movies to Convince Myself Gal Gadot Isn’t a Bad Actor (She’s Worse)
Image
Some actors win you over with talent. Others with charm. Gal Gadot somehow convinced Hollywood she could do both, without really doing either. On screen, she gives what Hermione might politely call the “emotional range of a teaspoon.”

If you remember the Imagine video, yes, that painfully out-of-touch, celebrity singalong that no one asked for during the pandemic, made people actually stop and ask the question, Wait, is Gal Gadot actually capable of acting? That clip didn’t just raise eyebrows, it opened a floodgate. Suddenly, every performance she’d ever given was under a microscope, and fans were shocked this conversation hadn’t happened sooner.

Now, the internet is...

Netflix Paid An Absurd Amount Of Money For Happy Gilmore 2 - Was It Worth It?
Image
Nearly 30 years after the original film helped cement Adam Sandler as a cinematic comedy superstar, "Happy Gilmore 2" is enjoying a rather healthy run on Netflix. Released in July, the sequel has been riding high in the streamer's top 10 charts ever since its release, and it even earned the highest weekly movie viewership in the history of Nielsen's top 10 rankings (via The Wrap). That would seemingly make it an automatic success. However, the budget for the movie was recently revealed, and it adds a pretty hefty asterisk to the endeavor.

According to New Jersey Business Magazine, Netflix spent a whopping $152.5 million on the production, which was filmed throughout New Jersey.

Gal Gadot Catching Strays In Brutal ‘Superman’ Review Makes Dceu’s Demise Look More Depressing
Image
Gal Gadot is in the eye of the storm yet again. Superman has taken flight to become one of the most talked-about movies in recent years. With its stellar cast, fabulous direction, and beautiful portrayals of the characters, it etched itself into the minds of the audience.

In the recent tweets about Superman on X (formerly Twitter), viewers praised the film, mocking Gal Gadot in a way. It comes through because of the hate towards her role in the 2020 film. Viewers have since then tried to find ways to bring the actress anywhere they want to disapprove.

In the recent news, it was confirmed that James Gunn is set to make a Dcu reboot for Wonder Woman, citing that Gadot will not have a role in the film. This might have further initiated the criticism towards the actress. Though hysterical, why is Gadot still on the negative cards? Let’s delve into it.

Andor Star Adria Arjona Suits Up As The Dcu's Wonder Woman In Awesome New Fan Art
Image
While DC Studios announced plans for the Themyscira-set Paradise Lost TV series at the start of 2023, there was no mention of a new Wonder Woman movie. Updates have since been few and far between, though that finally changed last month.

At the time, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn said, "Wonder Woman's a separate thing, slow moving, but it's moving. We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now."

Andor and Morbius star Adria Arjona has long been a firm fan favourite to play the Dcu's Wonder Woman and responded positively to the idea of playing the Amazon in multiple interviews. "[James Gunn] gave me my first movie ever...my first studio movie," she said, referring to The Belko Experiment. "So I owe him a lot. I love James Gunn...I don’t know."

For what it's worth, Gunn himself hasn't closed the door on casting Arjona as Diana Prince,...

John Cena and Idris Elba’s High-Octane Comedy Divides Critics on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
The last few years have seen an uptick in the production of a very particular kind of streaming movie; these films are typically flat to look at, often revolve around spies and global intrigue, and are sometimes designed to start franchises. Apple made Ghosted, starring Ana de Armas and Chris Evans; Netflix produced Heart of Stone, headlined by Gal Gadot; and now, Prime Video has delivered Heads of State, an action comedy with an A-list cast and an exciting filmmaker at the helm. However, the movie has earned mediocre reviews, and is currently sitting at a rather unimpressive Rotten Tomatoes score just ahead of its release on July 2.

Starring Idris Elba as the British Prime Minister and John Cena as the President of the United States, the movie also features Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra Jonasas a secret agent, and is directed by Ilya Naishuller. The Russian filmmaker is best known...

Will Gal Gadot Return As The Dcu's Wonder Woman? Here's The Latest Update On Her Future As Diana Prince
Image
While DC Studios announced plans for the Themyscira-set Paradise Lost TV series at the start of 2023, there was no mention of a new Wonder Woman movie. Updates have since been few and far between, despite Superman and The Brave and the Bold being in the works.

That changed this week. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn said, "Wonder Woman's a separate thing, slow moving, but it's moving. We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now."

While many fans have been speculating about who could play the next Diana Prince, some believe Gal Gadot will get another shot at donning the Amazonian's armour. She portrayed the hero in several Dceu movies, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and The Flash.

Gadot's acting abilities were frequently criticised during her stint as the hero.

New ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie “Being Written Right Now” Says DC Co-Boss James Gunn
Image
Wonder Woman under James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios hasn’t hung up her lasso.

“We’re working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman‘s being written right now,” Gunn told EW today.

DC didn’t comment on who exactly is writing the new Wonder Woman. Gunn hasn’t yet cast the role of who’ll play Princess Diana of Themyscira.

That’s a big deal. When Gunn and Safran took over the reigns of DC back in late 2022, they essentially began unplugging from the Zack Snyder created DC universe. One of those projects not to move forward was Patty Jenkins’ third Wonder Woman movie which wasn’t up to snuff.

In addition Gunn said today, that the new “Wonder Woman‘s a separate thing” to the already announced Paradise Lost HBO/Max series, which is “slow moving, but it’s moving,” per the Superman and Guardians of the Galaxy franchise filmmaker.

Why ‘Ballerina’ Didn’t Leap Into The Rafters With $25M Opening – Sunday Am Box Office Update
Image
Sunday Am Writethru after Saturday Am update: One of the most intriguing yet mindboggling dynamics in moviegoing is that which prevents audiences from getting off the couch, even when the word of mouth out there is great on a movie.

Such was the dilemma this weekend for Lionsgate’s John Wick off-shoot Ballerina, which didn’t budge from a $25M opening even after an A- CinemaScore, one of the best in the Wick franchise. While that grade for the Len Wiseman-directed movie is under the franchise’s best in show, John Wick: Chapter 4‘s A, it’s well above the original John Wick‘s B, and in the same great company as John Wick 2 & 3 which also nabbed A-s. Friday for the Ana de Armas movie was $10.65M including previews with Saturday down 8.2% to $8.2M, and Sunday forecasted at $6.1M. The global start was $51M from 82 territories.

DC Studios Boss James Gunn Teases "Encouraging" Update On Dcu's Wonder Woman Coming Soon
Image
There's been a lot of speculation about James Gunn's plans for Wonder Woman in the Dcu. Creature Commandos mentioned Themyscira and introduced Circe, all but confirming that Diana Prince is an active superhero in this world.

A Themyscira-set Paradise Lost TV series was also announced as being part of the DC Studios slate at the start of 2023. However, like Booster Gold, Waller, The Authority, it's another Dcu project that's taking shape very slowly.

Now, though, James Gunn has shared a positive update on social media. Responding to a fan asking for a Wonder Woman update, the filmmaker and studio executive said, "Not to be shared publicly yet but yes. Encouraging."

We don't know whether this means the role is close to being cast, but we'd like to think this means a new Wonder Woman solo movie is somewhere on the horizon (and that The Brave and the Bold won't...

Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, And Daisy Edgar-Jones To Lead Heist Movie Here Comes The Flood
Image
For a man who may or may not have at one point recently said retirement was on the cards, Denzel Washington is showing no signs of hanging up his acting boots just yet. Announced at Netflix's Upfront presentation earlier today, Here Comes The Flood — boasting a screenplay by soon-to-be Star Wars trilogy writer Simon Kinberg — is shrouded in a degree of secrecy at this stage. So far, we know that Meirelles' movie is...

Andor Season 2 Star Adria Arjona Weighs In On The Possibility Of Playing The Dcu's Wonder Woman
Image
In 2023, Gal Gadot insisted that she was being lined up to return as Diana Prince despite all signs pointing to her time as Wonder Woman having ended. James Gunn cast Superman's lead in David Corenswet and is still searching for Batman, so there's no reason to believe he'd round out the Dcu's Trinity with the Justice League star.

As noted, Gadot has talked repeatedly about meeting with Gunn and Peter Safran. Promoting Netflix's Heart of Stone, she even claimed they assured her she would return as the iconic DC Comics character in a new Wonder Woman movie.

Despite that, the plug was pulled on Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 3 almost immediately after DC Studios was formed, as it didn't fit into the Dcu's new direction. The trades, meanwhile, published a firm denial (clearly leaked to them by the studio), making a liar out of the actress at a time when...

Havoc Review: Gareth Evans Retreads The Raid in Bone-Crunching, Familiar Actioner
Image
Tom Hardy simultaneously fights corrupt cops and the Triad from the director of The Raid is, on paper, a pretty amazing pitch. Marrying Hardy’s gruff pivot back to genre fare––i.e. MobLand––after a number of years in the Venom wilderness with Evans’ ability to frame and shoot insane action scenes automatically makes Havoc stand out from the rest of Netflix’s algorithmic output.

Yet after a truly wild swing towards folk horror with 2018’s Apostle––Evans’ first film with Netflix and, I’d argue, his best––Havoc cannot help suggesting a regression for the gifted filmmaker. Propulsive, comically bloody, and more than a little stupid, Havoc fits comfortably alongside Extraction, Heart of Stone, The Mother, and the fifteen other Netflix action originals that you forgot existed. Is it a little better than many of those? Sure. Evans knows how to choreograph action with the best of them.

Heart of Stone Sneak Peek: See the First 5 Minutes of the New Gal Gadot Spy Thriller
Image
Heart of Stonebegins with a classic spy movie showstopper: a casino showdown in the Italian Alps, with its cast of battle-hardened secret agents in jeopardy. “In a film like this, you want that sense of adventure and you want to push it as far as you can,” Harper told Netflix in an interview conducted earlier this year. Heart of Stone’s opening sequence hits you with instant thrills, as Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot) tests out her poker face in a desperate bluffing gambit with casino security. “I think a big draw of this sort of film is wish fulfillment,” Harper said. “The fact is our own lives are less exciting than those of the agents that we watch on-screen.”

Behind the camera, Gadot’s crew took on their own mission: to start the film with a bang. Right around the corner is a heated ski chase down a cold mountain...

When Govinda Was Brutally Trolled Over Allegedly Rejecting Avatar! ( Photo Credit – Instagram; Facebook )

‘Snow White’ Star Gal Gadot on Playing Wonder Woman and Speaking Out About Israel: ‘I Had to Advocate for the Hostages’
Image
The first time Gal Gadot visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame almost two decades ago, she had a premonition of her future in entertainment. “Between Madame Tussauds and the Hollywood stars, I remember walking there for the first time when I was 23 and seeing people dressed like superheroes,” she remembers. “And they had Wonder Woman there!”

On March 18, Gadot will be there again, and this time she’ll receive her own star. But even after donning Wonder Woman’s red, black and gold costume multiple times on film — amid delivering a dozen other movie-star turns — the Israeli-born actress seems no less gobsmacked at the prospect of being immortalized by the honor. “I think that it’s going to take me time before I even realize that it’s real,” she tells Variety. “I don’t think that ever in my life I would dream to be able to go through...

Snow White: Are Gal Gadot & Rachel Zegler’s Different Political Views Adding Up To Tension Ahead Of Disney’s Live-Action Release?
Image
Are Gal Gadot & Rachel Zegler’s Dynamics Impacting Snow White Promo? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Pressure is building up surrounding Disney’s upcoming movie, Snow White remake starring Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler. While Zegler is going to play the titular role, the Wonder Woman actress will be seen as the Evil Queen. However, as per close sources, it has been stated that because of the huge difference in views, there’s a lot of distance between the co-stars, leading to the extended tension around the film.

The 2025 live-action movie is a remake of the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The upcoming film is directed by Marc Webb and written by Erin Cressida Wilson. Ahead of its March 21, 2025, theatrical release, there are rumors of alleged stress developing regarding the dynamics of the stars

According to People Magazine, Rachel Zegler (23-year-old actress) “has nothing in common with Gal Gadot,...

Oppenheimer Could Have Been A Netflix Hit? Streaming Giant’s Cco Claimed It Didn’t Need Theaters To Succeed

Oppenheimer Netflix Debate (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s biopic of the legendary American atomic scientist, was one of the most acclaimed releases of 2024. The film released in proximity to Barbie, resulting in the Barbenheimer phenomenon that accelerated box office sales after theaters had suffered from a post-covid slump.

Oppenheimer’s director, Christopher Nolan, has been very open about his preference for theatrical releases and his disdain for the streaming-first release model, to the point of releasing Tenet to low box office returns right in the middle of the Covid pandemic. But that doesn’t mean the executives of streaming services like Netflix necessarily agree. In an interview with Puck News, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria revealed that she believed Oppenheimer would’ve been very successful launching under Netflix.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight says the saga will continue after the movie
Image
After six seasons, Peaky Blinders came to an end in 2022, but we will soon see Cillian Murphy reprise his role as Thomas Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. While speaking to BBC Breakfast, creator Steven Knight says that although the movie will provide “a very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky story,” the franchise isn’t over yet.

“It’s not over, let’s just put it like that,” Knight said. “I’m not allowed to announce it… but I’m just saying that the world of Peaky will continue.” Production wrapped up in December, and Knight teased that what he’s seen so far is fantastic. “The stuff that I’m watching, the rushes… no-one will be disappointed,” he said. “It is quite an incredible thing… I think we’ve got the best British actors all in one place.“

Knight isn’t kidding. In addition to Murphy,...

Peaky Blinders Movie Won't End The Series After All As Netflix Plans More
Image
Six seasons and a movie ... and maybe another season or a spin-off, too? The path to success for the hit BBC series "Peaky Blinders" has hardly been a conventional one to this point, so this latest development might as well be par for the course. The rabid fandom, which has steadily built up around the rough-and-tumble exploits of Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby and his gang of outlaws in early 1900s Birmingham, knows that the franchise will be taking an unexpected leap to the big screen with a Netflix blockbuster from director Tom Harper. Although the streamer never confirmed that this would be a grand finale, most assumed that the movie would bring things to an explosive and bloody end for our favorite foul-mouthed criminals. But, by order of the Peaky Blinders, maybe this isn't quite the end of the road after all.

Rumors come and go, but it's tough to...

Back in Action Review: Another run-of-the-mill streaming flick
Image
Plot: Two married former CIA spies (Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx) are pulled back into espionage when their former identities are exposed.

Review: There are two genres all of the streamers seem to be obsessed with: spy capers and heist movies. The super spy genre is an especially attractive one, as the plots can be thin, and old formulas can be recycled over and over again. As long as your stars are likeable and you have a decent director at the helm, spy flicks do their job as mindless entertainment. However, it’s worth noting that none of these streaming spy flicks have ever successfully launched a franchise, with most viewing movies like The Grey Man, The Mother, Heart of Stone or Ghosted as mediocre one-offs.

Back in Action has a storyline that’s awfully close to that of another streaming spy flick from just a few months ago, The Family Plan,...

Back In Action Rotten Tomatoes Score Debut Marks A Disappointing Return For Cameron Diaz
Image
Back in Action has now debuted on Rotten Tomatoes, and the score marks a lackluster acting return for star Cameron Diaz. Directed by Seth Gordon, the Netflix action-comedy stars Diaz and Jamie Foxx as former CIA operatives Emily and Matt, respectively, as they are pulled back into the world of spycraft after their real identities are exposed. The film marks Diaz's return to acting after 10 years away from the spotlight, and the Back in Action reviews now making their way online are suggesting it might not be a triumphant one.

As the film now becomes available to stream on Netflix, Back in Action's Rotten Tomatoes score has begun to take shape. As of writing, the film stands at a disappointing 25% from 20 reviews, earning it a "Rotten" designation. This score is likely to fluctuate, however, as more reviews are added. There currently aren't enough audience reviews for a Popcornmeter score to take shape,...

‘Back In Action’ Netflix Review: Props To The Stunt Team, Shame On The Rest
Image
If you take a look at the last four years of Netflix original films set in the action genre, you’ll notice that they make two types of action movies. The first kind are those that have genuine passion behind them, bursting with creativity, and instantly memorable, while the second kind are those that feel like Netflix’s donation to the actors’ retirement fund. For example, in 2021, on one side you had Kate, and on the other side you had Red Notice. In 2022, we got both something as innovative as Lost Bullet 2 and something as disappointing as The Gray Man. For 2023, there was Ballerina to get your adrenaline pumping and Heart of Stone to bore you to sleep. 2024 was the year for stuff like 60 Minutes and City Hunter and also for garbage like Atlas and Damsel. But, regardless of the quality of these Netflix films, I realized that...

“She’s so talentedly untalented”: Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Fans Show Gal Gadot No Mercy After New Trailer Shows More Wooden Acting

The case of Gal Gadot is quite a peculiar one. The actress has starred in several well-respected and successful projects, ranging from the Fast and the Furious franchise to The Red Notice, and, most famously, playing the role of Wonder Woman in the DC Universe.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman | Warner Bros. Pictures

Despite all of her success and fame, there has been a recent wave of fans criticizing her acting skills. Easily being traced back to her 2023 film, Heart of Stone, Gadot has suddenly found herself being questioned about the fame that she possesses.

While some would think that such criticism would eventually fade away, the latest trailer for Disney’s Snow White film may showcase a bigger problem for the actress.

New Action Stars: who will carry the mantle when the legends are gone?
Image
Up on Variety about a year ago, there was an interesting interview with the German distributor of the Expendables and John Wick movies. Fred Kogel, who runs Leonine Studios, noted that all the top action heroes now, Keanu Reeves, Sylvester Stallone, Tom Cruise, and Harrison Ford, are the same ones we had in the eighties and nineties. But with Stallone and Ford in their late seventies, who will be the new action stars when the icons are done with the genre? Liam Neeson’s action career can’t go on forever, and Bruce Willis has, sadly, had to retire. For his part, Kogel doesn’t believe distributors and studios have done enough to build up a new crop of action heroes, noting that for the older stars, there was “a great deal of identification with the type of the actor, with the physicality of the actor so that you could relate to that.

We are Forever Thankful Gal Gadot Didn’t Replace Charlize Theron in Her Best Role: ‘I was never a big enough name’
Image
Charlize Theron has played many iconic characters over the years. From embodying someone like Megyn Kelly in Bombshell to playing the role of a real-life serial killer in Monster, she has showcased her versatility as an actress time and time again. However, no film has managed to get her as much recognition as Mad Max: Fury Road.

Having played the role of Imperator Furiosa, she managed to steal the spotlight in a cast full of respected actors like Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult, and Zoë Kravitz. Considering how iconic her performance was, it is difficult to imagine someone else playing the role in the original film, even though Anya Taylor-Joy did take over recently in the prequel.

However, it would seem that Gal Gadot almost got the role, long before she became Wonder Woman.

“I wasn’t an actress”: Not Just Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot Also Suffered Rejection From James Bond Franchise Before Zack Snyder Chose Her to be Wonder Woman in Dcu
Image
The James Bond saga has proven to be fruitful over the years, choosing the best of the bests to deliver to fans some of the most iconic arcs of the peerless spy – take Daniel Craig’s era as Bond, for instance. At the same time, the franchise has also turned down major talents that could have seriously launched it to extraordinary heights, including Gal Gadot.

Previously, Henry Cavill dominated the top position on the list of famous hotshots rejected by the Bond lore. But it seems like his Dceu co-star was yet another addition to it, as Gadot auditioned to become a part of the franchise as well. And while she didn’t end up being fished, it earned her quite a bit of experience before her casting as Wonder Woman in the SnyderVerse.
