Fictionalized adaptation of the legend of a human-like lizard creature that may exist in South Carolina. The last "official" reported sighting was in Feb. 2008 when Bob and Dixie Rawson claimed the creature attacked the van they were sleeping in. They woke up to find the front fender chewed up, bite marks through the front grill, wheels on both sides bitten and metal crumpled in a wad. There was also blood on the front and sides of the car. Authorities surmised it was probably an alligator. The last report before that one was back in July 1988.
The book "Lizard Man: The True Story of the Bishopville Monster" by author, cryptid researcher, and documentary filmmaker Lyle Blackburn was published in 2013. It documents Blackburn and his partner Cindy Lee's visit of the sighting locations, interviews with eyewitnesses, and reviews of all possible theories in their search for the truth behind the legendary Lizard Man.
