An exciting new tale that merges gripping action, sensuality, and the hierarchy of bees in a dystopian setting is on the horizon from Image Comics. Screen Rant has an exclusive first look at The Hive, a wild story about people trying to survive in a world where humanity is influenced as easily as worker bees.
Preview pages provided to Screen Rant show off this intriguing new world and begins with a pair of truckers approached by motorcyclists with cartoonish bee masks. However, the truckers immediately fall under the mind control powers of bikers with just a few words and veer wildly off course.
The bikers, Ash and Noa, force the truck to turn off of a bridge, causing it to crash into an open field. Waiting for the bikers near the crash site is their partner, Benji. Benji implores his partners to hurry with their plans while Noa and Ash share a kiss.

It's become very apparent that getting discovered as a Podcaster is more difficult than ever. The Walled Gardens do not provide proper syndication, they force self-censoring, they give Podcasters only a menial portion of the earnings and bury them in search results.
CastGarden is solving those issues. By syndicating podcasts across multiple websites, apps and networks such as the Fediverse, Blockchains, Nostr, Torrent sites and RSS, Podcasters reach millions of additional people which equates to an active comment section, hence more shares, more views/listens and in turn, more income. Syndication and user-engagement are everything:
Syndication to the Fediverse network (~10 Million users and growing)
The Fediverse is a growing network of independent, decentralized servers and enables those hosts to syndicate (re-stream) your podcasts, similar to how radio stations do it in cities across the planet.

Like every online game, Helldivers 2 has also some hackers despite its strict anti-cheat system. We’ve seen hackers since day 1, spawning unreleased vehicles, Stratagems, and weapons. Once again, a player on the Helldivers 2 subreddit has shared some screenshots of a hacker using unreleased Stratagems that players might have not seen before.
A still from Helldivers 2 (via Arrowhead Game Studios)
The hacker was able to spawn in 2 Stratagems called “Defense Wall” and “Commando.” Judging by the player’s description of these Stratagems, it seems like these will be very useful on the battlefield. These screenshots have assured the community that Arrowhead is working on new things as players have been eagerly waiting for new Stratagems. The Commando Stratagem is not new to the franchise as the first game also had this Stratagem.

The latest intel report in Helldivers 2 might be a hint that the Terminids are finally taking their revenge. Earlier this month, the community destroyed a Terminid Supercolony on Meridia using Dark Fluid and now, players are using Hive Breaker Drill to destroy Terminid nurseries on Hellmire, Nivel 43, Estanu, Crimsica, and Fori Prime. Obviously, the Terminid faction will retaliate and we’re convinced they have begun their revenge operation.
Helldivers 2 (via Arrowhead Game Studios)
The intel report revealed that high levels of interstellar spore emissions have been observed on the Terminid planets that are being liberated. Super Earth claims that “it is unlikely to cause any long-term problems,” but it will definitely backfire in the future. Players should prepare themselves for new threats as Terminid units might evolve into something more terrifying.

As if Helldivers 2 wasn’t crawling with enough bugs already, an even bigger and more menacing foe might be burrowing its way onto the frantic battlefield. Along with the new Nuke Nursery mission, Arrowhead is teasing an enemy Helldivers 1 players still have nightmares about.
Towering rib cages, huge molts, inexplicable tremors, and eerie sounds coming from massive boreholes—all these foreshadow the arrival of a harrowing beast, and players are equally excited and terrified.
Helldivers 2 is Teasing Something Big, Literally The monstrosities those giant skeletons belong to might soon unleash their wrath in Helldivers 2.
@Helldiversmedia posted a snippet from the new Helldivers 2 Nuke Nursery mission on X, showing a large borehole emitting spine-chilling sounds from underneath the surface.

Xochitl Gomez, best known for playing Marvel heroine America Chavez in the studio’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is shooting Hive, a horror short from rising Colombian-American filmmaker Felipe Vargas.
Written and directed by Vargas, Hive stars Gomez as a teenage babysitter who loses the young girl she’s taking care of at an idyllic playground and is forced to confront an insidious entity hidden among the children. Gomez stars alongside Lorelei Olivia Mote, a tyke who has appeared in American Horror Story and Daisy Jones & the Six.
The story is being told in real time and and set in the bright daylight of the outdoors, something the filmmakers think differentiates their project from most horror projects.
“Working with Felipe on Hive brought me back to the pure fun of filmmaking,” Gomez tells The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s precise and playful, being aware of every detail...

It was certainly very strange to see that Hive Lords were not a part of the Terminid faction in Helldivers 2 since these massive units were difficult to deal with in the first game. There have been various theories regarding these Hive Lords and possible mutations that were triggered due to the Terminid Control System missions that fans were introduced to in March. Now, it seems like all those theories were true.
Bile Titan in Helldivers 2
The latest Major Order in Helldivers 2 is asking players to disable the Terminid Control System on Erata Prime, Fenrir III, and Turing as massive bug outbreaks have been caused. Helldivers 2 seems to be on a roll, giving players enough content and challenges to keep busy with. The players have not stayed behind in any way, delivering crushing blows to the mechanized Automatons. Just recently, the players came together to kill a massive army of two billion Terminds in a matter of hours. But just when players are rejoicing in their victory, a new challenge awaits.

Spoilers are ahead for Halo season 2, episode 6, "Onyx."
Kai suggests the Spartan-III team needs to work like bees — one mind, one mission. Halo season 2's reference to a hive-mind mentality foreshadows the looming threat of the Flood. The need for the Spartan-IIIs to work as a collective unit might tease their ultimate fate when the Flood finally emerges.
One pointed line in Halo season 2, episode 6, "Onyx," teased the coming of the Flood, and the Spartan-iii soldiers' roles in the plotline. With its first season, the Paramount+ adaptation proved that it was an alternate take on the franchise's lore. Although the Silver Timeline of the Halo series is inspired by the core canon of the video games, it didn't adapt the story of the first-ever Halo game for its first season. In Halo: Combat Evolved, the Unsc's Pillar of Autumn ship exits slipspace in the wake of the Fall of Reach.

Manhwa is the general term for the comics and print-cartoons that come out of Korea and they’re the country’s equivalent to Japan’s manga. Manga and its accompanying anime have found international success and there are even fringe properties that are hits in North America and Europe. Manhwa hasn’t expanded to the same extent as manga, but there are just as strong stories being told in this medium that frequently get overlooked.
Manhwa celebrates all genres of storytelling. However, it exhibits a real flair for horror and there are some must-read manhwa series that manage to do far more than simply scare their audience.

It may seem hard to believe, but at one stage Resident Evil was not only the highest-grossing film series based on a video game, but also the highest-grossing horror film series period. Consisting of six movies and a reboot, the Resident Evil movies just kept making money even while they were being bashed by critics. Most of those critics arguably had valid points, but the arrival of a new Resident Evil movie simply became oddly comforting somewhere along the way.
Thanks to the creative voices of Event Horizon director Paul W.S. Anderson and his Fifth Element actress wife Milla Jovovich, six of the seven Resident Evil movies feature the character of Alice (Jovovich firing on all cylinders), a former security specialist and covert operative who initially has amnesia but eventually remembers she’s out to take down the insidious Umbrella Corporation, a global company responsible for Earth’s weirdest zombie apocalypse.

Sam Smith is a big fan of Vancouver — and Canada in general.
During Smith’s show at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Tuesday, reported Daily Hive, the singer took to the stage wearing a custom Canucks Pride jersey with his name and the number 23 emblazoned on the back, which he eventually took off and tossed into the crowed.
At one point in the show — the final Canadian date on their Gloria tour — Smith addressed the audience.

When director Elene Naveriani first read the book upon which “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry” is based, they immediately recognized a whole community. “It was the story of my mom, the story of my aunt, the story of my neighbor,” Naveriani tells Variety. “I could name so many women around me that they were really going through the same interior kind of struggle, and I found it very important to bring this character to life on screen.”
Playing in Directors’ Fortnight, “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry” follows 48-year-old Etero (Eka Chavleishvili – the filmmaker’s first and only choice for the character) as she discovers her sexuality and enters into her first relationship later in life. In the film’s startling opening sequence, shopkeeper Etero survives a brush with death, returns to her small corner store, and seduces the first man who walks in – having her initial sexual relation on a momentary whim.

Paris-based sales outfit Totem Films has acquired “A Song Sung Blue,” by Chinese director Zihan Geng, and “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry,” from Georgian filmmaker Elene Naveriani. Both films will premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival.
“A Song Sung Blue” is the feature debut of the Beijing-born Geng. The coming-of-age story follows 15-year-old Xian, who’s left in the care of her estranged father, a struggling photographer, after her mother is compelled to travel to Africa for work. Over the course of a restless summer, Xian befriends 18-year-old Mingmei, the daughter of his father’s assistant-turned-girlfriend, and soon finds herself looking up to the older girl.
Driven by the ignorance and impulse of youth, their friendship will leave an unforgettable mark on the young girl’s life, a journey that “we follow to retrieve the memories of that distant part of our own youth,” according to Geng.

A new variant cover for Venom #18, drawn by the talented Paco Medina, gives Eddie Brock the true King in Black treatment, casting the former host of Venom as a valiant warrior with impressive armor, an Odin-like missing eye, and a new version of All-Black the Necrosword, honoring his status as Marvel God.
Eddie Brock famously killed the dark God Knull in King in Black #6, becoming the new King in Black as well as earning the title of God of Symbiotes, but since then the troubled man has been in freefall, trapped outside of time by a villainous future version of himself named Meridius, and becoming estranged from his son Dylan Brock, the new host of Venom.

Sza launched her 2023 North American “Sos Tour” (grab tickets for upcoming shows here) at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, February 21st.
Among the 30-plus songs our December Cover star debuted more than a dozen tracks from her chart-topping new album and tour namesake, Sos, like “F2F,” “Forgiveless,” and her current single, “Kill Bill.” She opened the set with the pre-order exclusive “PSA” while recreating the album’s Princess Diana-inspired artwork, and later boarded a lifeboat and floated above the audience to perform “Supermodel” from 2017’s Ctrl, “Nobody Gets Me,” and more.

This year, women directors – and their women-centric subjects – swept the awards at Sundance Film Festival. Three women directors – Madeleine Gavin, Maryam Keshavarz, and Noora Niasari – won Audience Awards for their films on North Korea (“Beyond Utopia”), intergenerational motherhood (“The Persian Version”), and custody in diaspora (“Shayda”). Portraits of masculinity were also celebrated as well. First-time feature filmmaker Sing J. Lee won the Directing Award for his touching portrait of masculinity and fatherhood in “The Accidental Getaway Driver,” while Sauvnik Kaur’s intimate documentary on brotherhood “Against The Tide” took home a Special Jury Award. After two years of isolation and virtual festival-ing, it seems that stories of tenderness appealed over aggressive storytelling at Park City this year.
“This year’s Festival has been an extraordinary experience,” said Joana Vicente, Sundance Institute CEO. “The artists that comprise the 2023 Sundance Film Festival have demonstrated a sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in independent film.

Before Disney+ and Kevin Feige brought television series into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was a fan-favorite network television underdog. Born out of 2012's "The Avengers," the show followed a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents assembled by a newly not-dead Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). Thanks to a strong fanbase, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." survived cancellation multiple times with rallying cries on social media like #CoulsonLives and #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." had a rough start, but then "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" hit theaters, revealing the McU's biggest twist thus far. Since S.H.I.E.L.D.'s inception, Hydra had moles on the inside. The show's story exploded from there, exploring how these street-level agents grapple with the aftermath. Donald Glover spoke out on the difference between artists and entertainers…and the children of both.
During an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, the “Atlanta” creator applauded Zoë Kravitz for her directorial debut with “Pussy Island,” which she also co-wrote.
“I know she feels the pressure,” Glover said of Kravitz’s need to be viewed as more than “the daughter of,” citing her parents Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet’s respective fame. “There’s always a pressure that’s like, ‘I actually have to do something that’s good, because otherwise people will say it’s not because of me being creative.'”

Glover talked about the project, currently in production, at the Atlanta Season 3 premiere in March. He told Variety production’s going well while singing Fishback’s praises as an actor. Last week’s premiere of “Atlanta” Season 3 marked Donald Glover’s long-awaited return to television writing. The multi-hyphenate has kept busy with a variety of film and music projects in the four years since Season 2 of his hit FX show aired, but the return of “Atlanta” has reminded audiences why he is one of TV’s most acclaimed scribes. Glover himself claims that Seasons 3 and 4, both of which have already filmed, are some of the best television ever produced, rivaled only by “The Sopranos” in his view. But with “Atlanta” in the can, Glover is already moving onto his next television project.
Vanity Fair has reported that Glover is writing and producing a new series for Amazon with the potential working title “Hive,” which is reportedly inspired by a pop star reminiscent of Beyoncé. While the show is still in the writing phase, he has already made one high profile...

In February 2021, The Hollywood Reporter disclosed that Donald Glover had exited his pact with FX for a multiple-year deal with Amazon. This deal will see Glover executive producing a number of projects for the streamer, including one called "Hive," which has already begun staffing a writers' room that includes none other than Malia Obama. "Hive" is rumored to feature a Beyoncé-like figure and come from the mind of "Watchmen"'s Janine Nabers.
In a recent interview with Variety, Glover described Obama as "somebody who's gonna have really good things coming soon" before adding that her "writing style is great." Glover's brother and collaborator, Stephen, echoed the same sentiments, saying, "Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers' room. And for sure, [Malia] definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us.
