Seeds ideas for full leight films.

This offers the two parts of this exercise - sketch of Oats Studios.

In the first part, a stone isolated house, its owner protecting, against impressive Teutonic army, his wife and new born child. A huge man kills , crushing him in the fist, the owner .

The second part - a kind of version of Darth Vader dominated by presumed remorses. A mirror reflecting his face, a messager expecting order, a cold, brutal order coming.

The only sin, for me, is the lack of...originality. In the first part - new use, not brilliant or impressive - excepting technic virtues - Goliath , in this case winner, or giants from Game of Thrones.

In the second, old Darth Vader in modest version and more sentimental.

But, sure, I suppose, the admirers of genres are content.

    Short and not so sweet

A snapshot of an alternative teutonic reality where a man, armed with only an old weathered axe, stands alone in front of his homestead and defends a terrified woman and child from an army of knights on horseback - and a 100 foot tall giant - with about as much success as can be expected in the circumstances.

As with all of Oats Studios shorts, this is designed to be a fragment of a story, intended to inspire other filmmakers and creators to expand the vision into something more significant and compelling. So as a standalone it will never be more than just a curiosity. Though it is in and of itself a small expansion of an internet-famous image by Polish artist Jakub Rozalski (who does other cool drawings that you may want to check out if this captured your imagination).

Whilst this is very brief and hence not truly satisfying, a series or a film in this grim world would certainly be of interest for me. And who knows? Maybe one day someone will grab this concept and run with it. Until then, may your imagination sustain you.

    • Trivia
The medieval army are The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem commonly known as the Teutonic Order. Its members were recruited from various German states and have commonly been known as the Teutonic Knights, participated in the crusades to the Holy Land. In 1226 a Polish duke -Konrad of Masovia (north-eastern Poland), appealed to the Knights to defend his borders and subdue the pagan Baltic Old Prussians, allowing the Teutonic Knights use of Polish land as a base for their campaign. Konrad has underestimated the German appetite for expansion and conquest- he was nicknamed Konrad the Mad for inviting the German knights. The conquest of Prussia by the Teutonic Knights was accomplished with much bloodshed over more than fifty years, during which native Prussians who were subjugated, killed, or exiled. For years to come Teutonic Order created a monastic state set on conquering the nearby duchies that previously could enjoy vast autonomy under the Polish rule. The conquered lands were colonized by German settlers. In 1308 Teutonic Knight had taken the citadel of Danzig (Gdansk in Polish) and massacred 10,000 of the town's inhabitants. The title of the short film might be connected to the merciless German campaigns in the Baltic region and the genocide of the civilian populace.
