Dull and bland...

Needless to say that I had, of course, never heard about this 2023 movie titled "Choppa City Queens" prior to sitting down to watch it here in 2025. And truth be told, just looking at the movie's cover, I figured that this was most likely a movie from Maverick Entertainment, who usually releases questionable movies.

And true enough, this was indeed a movie from Maverick Entertainment. As soon as I saw that ethereal horse galloping across the screen, my expectations for the movie went from slim to none. Yet, I still opted to give writer and director Jeff Profitt the benefit of the doubt.

The storyline in the movie was not a great one. It was a rather generic and stereotypical storyline and narrative, which made for a bland viewing experience. And it didn't help much that the characters in the movie were devoid of characteristics and personalities, nor that the dialogue in the movie was a questionable affair.

Of course I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. The acting performances were fair enough, taking into consideration the premise of the movie. I can't say, though, that there was any performances that were memorable or outstanding.

"Choppa City Queens" was by no means an overly entertaining movie. And it definitely is not a movie that I will return to watch a second time. Would I recommend you to sit down and watch the movie? No.

My rating of writer and director Jeff Profitt's 2023 movie "Choppa City Queens" lands on a very, very generous three out of ten stars. Points are added for the effort they put into the movie.

This is an uneven movie

Choppa City Queens (2023) is a movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows three friends down on their luck and looking for a new source of revenue to change their direction. When they can't seem to find a worthwhile job, one of the friends bumps into an arms dealer. She offers to help him in his trade business, and they quickly start making money. Will their new job change their lives for the better or worse?

This movie is written, directed by and stars Jeff Profitt (Getting to the Plug) and also stars Jasmine Alysha (Getting to the Plug), Chanel Collins (Hope Lives), Tuckeya Robinson (Getting to the Plug) and Michael Cruse (Getting to the Plug).

This is a very uneven movie. The cinematography has a made for television feel to it. The quality of the film just isn't there. The circumstances of the characters were authentic and felt realistic, but their solutions, not so much. The dialogue was well written and executed and the acting wasn't bad. The performances felt realistic. The fight scenes were a bit hilarious, as were the sound effects in them. This is one of those movies you're waiting for a "great" scene that captivates you; but unfortunately, it never comes.

Overall, this is a movie only worth watching if nothing else is on...and then you may still wish you didn't. I would score this a 2/10 and recommend skipping it.

Very bad

Don't waste your time! Poor acting, rookie camera angles, and sad effects. This reminds me of a movie we made in high school with vhs cameras! It was a random movie that came on after watching another movie and I didn't have the remote so I was accidentally exposed to this very F list movie.

The story line is kinda dumb to we have domestic abuse going on a gamer boyfriend who can't man up and 3 girls who want to sell guns? Kind reminds me of a song about girls with guns. Ha

I did laugh at the effects they used on the pew pew after finding them. Musta been a very low budget film. Leave this for your film classes.
