Teele Dunkley's Losing Us is a hard hitting drama that focuses on the children's perspective of human trafficking. Watched the drama at a screening and I was hooked from the very start. Brave and fearless performances by quite a lot of local actors in the Norfolk area. Everyone involved with it should be proud of the work they done. The soundtrack and cinematography paid it justice to make it sound authentic and look ambiguous in this lost world that the children live in. Dunkley's a great director and I hope she makes more films in the near future, hopefully feature films with a strong message like this one.

Losing Us delivers a tough subject with an intelligent, light and artistic hand. It is emotional and hard-hitting, it will probably make you cry, but it also has a strong underlying sense of strength and hope. The photography was beautifully done and generally the whole film was well crafted and well cast. The actors belie a bond that I suspect goes beyond the script - this was a strength in itself. As a film covering the subject matter of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery I think it stands alone and portrays the positive strength of Albanian culture which the usual cliches do not do. I came away feeling the weight of opportunities lost which could have changed the fate of the characters. It is a story that will stay with you and I think that's the very best we can ask of a film!
