Crunchyroll made an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday regarding delays in the dubbing of 22 episodes across 11 different series. These delays are due to the impact of severe weather.

A major winter storm hit the southern United States on Friday, affecting areas like Texas, Georgia, and parts of Oklahoma. The storm has caused over 3,000 flight cancellations and power outages in affected regions.

Texas, where Crunchyroll’s in-house dubbing studio is based, has been particularly impacted.

The following English dub episodes have been delayed:

Unsurprisingly, Solo Leveling Season 1 was the most popular anime of 2024, leading Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc in second by a massive 246k member lead. It led Dandadan in third by 271k. Natsume Yuujinchou fans have something special to look forward to this coming June. The very first video game based on the beloved Natsume's Book of Friends anime and manga franchise was recently announced, alongside a release date for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Per Oricon, Developer Toydium and publisher Bushiroad Games' Natsume Yuujinchou: Hazuki no Shirushi will arrive on Nintendo Switch and PC in Japan on June 5, 2025. Players will assume the role of series protagonist Takashi Natsume in the upcoming adventure video game, spending their summer vacation in the same world while hanging out with classmates, helping out their family and listening to the various troubles of visiting yokai. The game promises an emotional original story that weaves in several of the iyashikei franchise's most memorable characters, all set against a backdrop filled with beauty and nostalgia. Now, the company is teaming up once again with Jujutsu Kaisen, this time to release a slew of new merchandise based on Mappa's 2021 movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

The new collectibles feature six different Sanrio mascots, each paired with a corresponding character from Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The merchandise-original illustrations depict each pair cutely together, with the mascots perched on their partners' shoulders, peeking down from their heads or being held in their arms. While Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy anime, the artwork seen here is of a far cuter nature, with the Jjk characters -- seen below -- chibi-fied and drawn in a charming, almost sketch-like style.

Sanrio, a brand famous worldwide for its iconic characters like Hello Kitty, is no stranger to official crossovers with big-name anime and manga series. Now, another major anime has joined that list to celebrate its impending seventh season: the incredibly popular shojo franchise Natsume Yuujinchou.

Also well-known by its English title, Natsume's Book of Friends, the manga and anime series stars Nyanko-sensei as its 'mascot' character -- the comedically selfish and lazy yet incredibly powerful spirit who acts as Natsume's bodyguard, and who usually takes the form of a rather plump maneki-neko (lucky cat). We’re more than halfway through September and barreling into the Fall, which means Crunchyroll has some new goodies falling onto the streamer.

Some summer titles, like “Tower of God” Season 2,” “Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest” and “True Beauty” are all set to continue on through the fall from their summer premieres.

But let’s get into the new series and films the anime streamer has in store. Kicking off the fall is the series debut of “Demon Lord, Retry!,” which premieres Sept. 28. As revealed in a recent survey conducted by major news and entertainment outlet Animate Times, Japanese audiences can't wait for Fall 2024 anime like Re:Zero Season 3 and Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online Season 2, among several other titles.

In Animate Times' survey, Japanese fans were asked which anime from the upcoming season they're most looking forward to. The current responses have been tallied, and rankings have been provided for three separate categories: the top five most anticipated anime by male fans, the top five most anticipated anime by female fans, and the top 10 most anticipated anime overall. These are interim results, and fans will continue to be able to participate and vote until Sept. 29, 2024.

The one anime series that I'm most excited about this spring is "Skip and Loafer." The source manga tells the tale of Mitsumi Iwakura, an ambitious teenage girl from the country who moves to Tokyo for high school. There she meets the easygoing Sosuke Shima, and the two of them slowly build a close-knit network of friends that includes local mean girl Mika Egashira, bookish Makoto Kurame, and independent-minded Yuzuki Murashige. Each of them is as different as can be, and yet despite bad early impressions, they find a common cause in each other. "Skip and Loafer" is too good-natured to be a "realistic" high school story. But it is successful at evoking the texture of adolescence in its banality, complexity, and sweetness.
