Crunchyroll made an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday regarding delays in the dubbing of 22 episodes across 11 different series. These delays are due to the impact of severe weather.
A major winter storm hit the southern United States on Friday, affecting areas like Texas, Georgia, and parts of Oklahoma. The storm has caused over 3,000 flight cancellations and power outages in affected regions.
Texas, where Crunchyroll’s in-house dubbing studio is based, has been particularly impacted.
The following English dub episodes have been delayed:
– Mf Ghost Season 2 episode 12
– Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 episode 12
– I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History episodes 12 and 13
– Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 25
– Shangri-La Frontier Season 2…

A-1 Pictures' popular Solo Leveling picks up a rather nice accolade before Season 2 premieres this January as MyAnimeList data crowns it 2024's most popular anime.
The popular anime database and tracker MyAnimeList revealed its most popular anime of 2024. MyAnimeList allows users to add a series to their account to indicate their current watch progress -- while these can include members who plan to watch the series but have not yet, this is generally negligible and can be discarded. Unsurprisingly, Solo Leveling Season 1 was the most popular anime of 2024, leading Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc in second by a massive 246k member lead. It led Dandadan in third by 271k. The top 10 list can be seen below.

In recent months, Sanrio -- most famous for its globally popular mascot characters like Hello Kitty -- has collaborated on a number of well-known anime shows, from Oshi no Ko to Natsume Yuujinchou and everything between. Now, the company is teaming up once again with Jujutsu Kaisen, this time to release a slew of new merchandise based on Mappa's 2021 movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
The new collectibles feature six different Sanrio mascots, each paired with a corresponding character from Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The merchandise-original illustrations depict each pair cutely together, with the mascots perched on their partners' shoulders, peeking down from their heads or being held in their arms. While Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy anime, the artwork seen here is of a far cuter nature, with the Jjk characters -- seen below -- chibi-fied and drawn in a charming, almost sketch-like style.

Since its anime debut in the early 2000s, Natsume Yuujinchou, otherwise known as Natsume's Book of Friends, has become a huge title. The franchise has lasted for 16 years and will be airing its seventh season in October of this year, 2024. Despite keeping her identity mostly a secret, fans of the most wholesome Yokai franchise have a lot of thanks to give to the original creator Yuki Midorikawa.
The beloved franchise Natsume has followed the title protagonist as he explores relationships with humans and supernatural beings alike. This story isn't likely to be biographical, but it came about after years of Yuki Midorikawa's hard work. After toiling through the ranks of competitions, Midorikawa has become more than the creator of an acclaimed franchise. Understanding Natsume is only scratching the surface of Yuki Midorikawa's legacy.

Sanrio, a brand famous worldwide for its iconic characters like Hello Kitty, is no stranger to official crossovers with big-name anime and manga series. Now, another major anime has joined that list to celebrate its impending seventh season: the incredibly popular shojo franchise Natsume Yuujinchou.
Also well-known by its English title, Natsume's Book of Friends, the manga and anime series stars Nyanko-sensei as its 'mascot' character -- the comedically selfish and lazy yet incredibly powerful spirit who acts as Natsume's bodyguard, and who usually takes the form of a rather plump maneki-neko (lucky cat). Sanrio's new collaboration sees Nyanko-sensei star alongside Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin in a new set of illustrations gracing hoodies and acrylic stands, all currently available for domestic and international pre-order via Amnibus.

Commonly cited as one of the best casual games of all time, the 2016 farm life sim video game Stardew Valley has been a hit ever since its release. The enthroned leader of the cozy game genre, Stardew Valley is a soothing game that has the player character explore the titular rural town, befriend its colorful inhabitants, and perform relaxing daily tasks like farming, cooking, and acquiring resources. Developed independently by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone), the game remains the golden standard for low-stress video games to this day due to the uniquely comforting atmosphere it crafts.
While unusual for popular games, the same ambiance can be found all around in anime. The medium has an entire genre, iyashikei, that is dedicated to series meant to have a healing effect on the viewers’ souls. Yet, even outside the iyashikei genre, anime has plenty of series that offer a heartening experience to fans. From...

A beloved staple of the iyashikei genre, Natsume's Book of Friends is one of the most soothing series meant for unwinding and relaxation. The show follows Takashi Natsume, a high school boy with the unique power to see yokai, or Japanese spirits. It focuses on Natsume's encounters with the paranormal, freeing the apparitions from the contracts the hero’s grandmother put upon them.
Despite its premise featuring a confrontation between the human world and the supernatural, Natsume's Book of Friends features little conflict, instead emphasizing the values of coexistence and companionship. The merits present in the show are shared by countless iyashikei and slice-of-life series, many of which are must-watches for all Natsume's Book of Friends fans. Celebrating the magic found in simple existence, Natsume's Book of Friends and anime similar to it are perfect for a comforting, life-affirming watch.

The one anime series that I'm most excited about this spring is "Skip and Loafer." The source manga tells the tale of Mitsumi Iwakura, an ambitious teenage girl from the country who moves to Tokyo for high school. There she meets the easygoing Sosuke Shima, and the two of them slowly build a close-knit network of friends that includes local mean girl Mika Egashira, bookish Makoto Kurame, and independent-minded Yuzuki Murashige. Each of them is as different as can be, and yet despite bad early impressions, they find a common cause in each other. "Skip and Loafer" is too good-natured to be a "realistic" high school story. But it is successful at evoking the texture of adolescence in its banality, complexity, and sweetness.
