Juicy dysfunctional family drama

Stumbled upon Trust on Prime and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Trust confronts some hard hitting truths about family and generational trauma. The characters are multidimensional and flawed... like actual human beings. Each has their own unique set of circumstances that they're battling with, and their limits get tested when united with the family. The story is nuanced, heartbreaking, and hopeful, with seasoned actors and rising talent masterfully embodying the layers of dysfunction. The production value feels high for an ultra low budget film... It's a testament to the entire team that I was engrossed the entire time. The ending... not what I expected, but what I needed. This one will stick with me a while.

Slow. No Mission

This boring movie just twisted around in the same place the whole time. It lacks a purpose and conclusion. They built up the characters but it didn't lead to anything.

The only redeeming qualities are that the producers seem to know how to make a film. The story just lacked a path to anything appreciable.

Making a drama about a dysfunctional family isn't enjoyable on its own. We don't need a happy finish to make it a pleasure yo watch. A good movie does require a purpose for its making otherwise keep it to yourself. This one was a waste of my time. I just don't understand how critics judge slop like this one.

Over rated!

In the first ten minutes

Jennifer Levinson is fake smoking and not pulling it off. So right there the illusion is gone. I'm watching inferior acting and thus inferior directing. SO easy to correct this. No thanks, get it together team, don't waste my time.

A Misery Movie For Viewers In A Miserable Mood . . . .

It is astounding to me that this movie won so many awards and is so highly rated here. I think it should only be watched by those in a miserable mood and who want to feel even more miserable. What are so many others seeing in this film?

It's a depressing slow-moving story of three adult children in a family where the mother has killed herself. Part of the reason appeared to be mental health issues, and part because her husband had cheated on her with his youngest daughter's best friend, another high school girl.

The youngest daughter is filled with anger and anguish. The oldest daughter is a narcissist who makes up illnesses and possibly even a pregnancy. The one son is the only likable person in the movie, and is trying to keep everything together when his life is falling apart.

They were all expecting their mother's money and business to help them out, but it turns out their despised father gets everything because the final divorce papers weren't signed. There is no trust and no real faith and no anything else of any value in this movie. I watched it to the end, though, and deeply regret wasting the streaming time. I also thought it was highly amusing that what happened at the very end of the movie was apparently supposed to be seen as highly profound, when it was nothing more than typical common sense.
