The film is directed by Maruthi Dasari, mostly known as just Maruthi, whose credits include horror-comedy “Prema Katha Chitram” (2013), romantic comedy “Mahanubhavudu” (2017) and comedy-drama “Prati Roju Pandage” (2019). It is being produced under the People Media Factory banner with T.G. Vishwa Prasad as producer and Vivek Kuchibotla (“Bro”) as co-producer. The cinematography is by Karthik Palani (“Varisu”), Thaman S. (“Ala Vaikuntapuramulo”) is the composer and the VFX is led by Kamal Kannan.

The film, directed by cinematographer Karthik Ghattamaneni, will feature Ravi Teja in multiple avatars as a man who is wanted by the intelligence authorities. The film also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kavya Thapar, Srinivas Avasarala, Navdeep and Madhubala in pivotal roles.

Eagle is the second collaboration between Ravi Teja and the production house People Media Factory, after the 2022 hit Dhamaka. The film’s title and first look were unveiled on social media on June 12, 2023, generating a lot of buzz among the audience. The South Indian International Movie Awards (Siima) have concluded, and films ‘Rrr’, ‘Sita Ramam’, ‘777 Charlie’, ‘Kantara’ and ‘Kgf: Chapter 2’ stole the thunder. The award shows ran from September 15-16 in Dubai, with the first night announcing winners in the Telugu and Kannada categories and the second for Tamil and Malayalam. For the unversed, Siima stands to honour the artistry of South Indian cinema in all the four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, as well as provide a platform for South Indian cinemas to get more international reception.

South cinema began making some headway into the international markets such as Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, Indonesia and Turkey, primarily due to the charm of superstar Rajinikanth as early as the ‘90s.

Though it only made some major inroads in 2015, with director S.S. Rajamouli’s Telugu epic franchise, ‘Baahubali’, and then exploded with ‘Rrr’ in 2022, giving it full attention in the West.

New Delhi, Aug 18 (Ians) Reliance Jio on Friday announced the launch of Jio prepaid plans with a bundled Netflix subscription.

A Netflix subscription is already available on select Jio Postpaid and Jio Fiber plans, but this is the first time that a Netflix subscription will be available on a prepaid plan, the company said.

A Netflix mobile-only plan will come bundled with Jio’s Rs 1,099 plan, whereas a Rs 1,499 plan will give subscribers access to Netflix Basic. Both plans have a validity of 84 days.

With this launch, over 400 million Jio prepaid customers will get the option of availing a Netflix subscription through a Jio Prepaid bundled plan.

Chennai, June 12 (Ians) Telugu star Ravi Teja, the Mass Maharaja in the Tollywood pecking order, scored the biggest solo hit of his career with ‘Dhamaka’, a People Media Factory production.

The star now collaborates again with the production house, which is now in the news for having picked up the ‘Adipurush’ rights in the two Telugu states for Rs 170 crore, for a more ambitious project helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Karthik Gattamneni.

The teaser shows Ravi Teja standing near a lake, his face partially visible, and then the title is revealed as ‘Eagle’.

Korea’s Anthology Studios and India’s Panorama Studios have partnered for the remake of the Drishyam franchise in Korea.

Panorama Studios is backed by producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, while Anthology Studios is founded by former Warner Bros. local Korean production head, Choi Jae-won (aka Jay Choi), “Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho and acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon. The trio previously worked together on 2016 film “The Age of Shadows.” Anthology’s “Cobweb,” directed by Kim, produced by Choi and starring Song, is premiering out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 25.

Bollywood stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, who are reportedly in Mathura to shoot for ‘Dream Girl 2’, celebrated team India’s win late on Sunday night against the arch-rivals Pakistan at the Asia Cup, now underway in the UAE.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is your first lighthearted film in three years. Did you enjoy doing comedy?

I have always loved doing comedy, I started my journey with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which was a refreshing comedy, today it’s considered a cult comedy . I’m always open to exploring other genres too like I did with Dhamaka and my next Freddy .But comedy is something I started with and I feel most at home with. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is my first theatrical release in this post-covid time and returning back to the big screen with such a complete family entertainer feels good. It’s also my first horror comedy which I have really enjoyed doing.
