Ear for Eye (2021)

Trivia

Ear for Eye

Edit
The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival and then was also broadcast on the BBC on the same day - 16th October 2021.
Tricia Tuttle, BFI London Film Festival Director, said: "Debbie [Tucker Green]'s first feature 'Second Coming' screened in our First Feature Competition in 2014 and it is such a privilege to have her back to world premiere 'ear for eye', and also to present the premiere in this way with the BBC. Audiences across the UK can see the film on BBC Two while we welcome Debbie and cast to the BFI for the live festival screening that evening. Debbie's writing is so powerful - lyrical, complex, urgent - and this adaptation of her own work is a wonderful blend of theatre, performance and film, brought to life by a truly talented cast."
The film was made and first released about three years after its source stage play of the same name by director-playwright Debbie Tucker Green had been first performed in 2018.
The film's ensemble cast includes a wealth of established and rising Black stage and screen stars, including Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel, No Time To Die), Tosin Cole (Doctor Who, The Souvenir), Carmen Munroe (Desmond's), Danny Sapani (Harlots, MotherFatherSon), Nadine Marshall (Sitting In Limbo) and Arinzé Kene (I'm Your Woman).
The world premiere of the film was held at the BFI London Film Festival on 16th October 2021 which was about just over a couple of weeks after the world premiere of the Bond movie 'No Time to Die' (2021) on 28th September 2021 - also from EON Productions.
