A fun series to relax and find light comedy, with comedian casts that will make you like it, although sometimes some of the scripts look cringe, but once you get to the comedy hit, you'll be right on target, even though there are many misses hahahah but the series is still fun. The drama is also not too thick here, because the genre focus is on comedy it seems, but once asked for drama, they are not playing, the drama is good, all the casts. There will be one or two eps in season 2.
Continuing the story of Koh Afuk and his favorite employees hahaha, after the series from the first check shop next door and the first film, Koh Afuk finally retired from his shop, and wanted to open a pond business. On the one hand, he also suddenly liked Helen, and intended to marry her, even though he was still haunted by his old wife who had passed away. This is where Koh Afuk's various comedy stories begin in starting his new business, starting from the competition with Kang Tatang's neighboring pond, the struggle to fill his pond, to being slandered for poisoning his customers through their restaurant, which eventually had to be put in prison, and having to find the real perpetrator. (this is a recap of 2 seasons).
From the work of Ernest Prakasa, with various directors who are sometimes different in each episode, sometimes Bene, Arie, or Soleh too, there are also many writers. But overall, the script, although not very good, is suitable to be watched as an entertaining and relaxing OTT, although it does sometimes seem cringe in some of the comedy and characters, but it's like a stereotype of the character starting from the first CTS and the first series, so when I watch it again in the current series, it seems like it's become a common thing. The scoring sound is very typical of CTS, from the series last year and the film. There's no problem with the visuals either, it's still just as good.
Because the casts are mostly comedians too, and with some new supporting casts and old casts who have become the hallmarks of CTS, they're already good at dancing their characters. Especially Koh Afuk, the Chinese strong man whose life is devoted to business, it seems hahaha. But Kin Wah Chew is really good as Koh Afuk, from the past, until now his performance is still cool, especially at his age which is now quite old, as well as the other casts. Well, if there are supporting actors who are not good, they are probably the people around the shooting.
There are many new characters appearing in this series, there are Habel (Arie Kriting), Jali (Bintang Emon), Ipeh (Aci Resti) who also appeared in the previous cts, but only a little, Asui (Morgan Oey) Koh Afuk's nephew, Sherlyn (Anggika Bolsterli), Kang Tatang (Soleh Solihun) and Umay (Denny Gitong), Amei (Devina Aureel) Helen's daughter (Jenny Zhang), and the last 2 who accompanied Koh Afuk in prison (Babe and David). All are good in their respective characters.
Season 2 eps 6, Naryo played by Yusril, one of the characters who invites comedy too, playing 2 personality figures, the guy and the girl hahaha. That's my favorite character in cts, and Anggika and Morgan, the love story of innocent children, just funny and ticklish lol. The chemistry between Awee and Adjis from the beginning of the cts is really visible, these two people are like twins with different faces. Arie, Emon, Aci, Koh Afuk's new employees who are also funny. Don't forget Babe and David who accompany Koh Afuk in prison also have a lot of comedy sometimes. Denny and Soleh are also good sometimes. There's Jenny Zhang too, later on, the details of her character in the series will be a new opponent. The rest of the ones that haven't been written, the point is, they're already good
Lastly, for those who like to check the shop next door series yesterday, I'm sure for this new series, you like it much more, because the story is much fresher and more exciting, although sometimes it still has the old cringe disease, but fortunately not in all episodes, even so it's still enjoyable to watch. But one thing that must be imitated from the Chinese, the business spirit, never giving up, and daring to take risks are things that are worthy of being emulated by us.
