I have recently been introduced to Glen Martin DDS as I was watching a video of channel surfing 2009. I searched the show up on Google and found that the first season was officially on YouTube with the second season being on Tubi. After watching the first season, I have to say that it's underrated. For one I enjoy the animation style and I think it's rather intriguing and new compared to the traditional ways of animation. The writing is simple but also somewhat sophisticated at the same time. The jokes are alright but can be a bit to reliant on crude/potty humor, however there are some clever political, social, cultural references throughout the program. That being said there are some scenes in this show that wouldn't fly in today's climate, most notably a scene where one of the main characters calls a transgender women a "he/she" a term that is quite offensive and insulting to members of the LGBTQ community, there's also quite a bit of homophobic jokes in it so yeah.
On content side of things, this was aired on NICK@NIGHT, a programing block on nickelodeon aimed at teens and young adults. Though there was some controversy with it originally airing at 7:30pm especially with it being aired right after SpongeBob despite containing crude and suggestive humor, sexual situations, course language (damn, ass, piss) and somewhat graphic violence. The show is rated TV:PG DLSV, however I would say that this program is more so TV:14 due to both the overt and frequent sexual references and the violence that can be quite gruesome at times.
Overall a decent program with some issues.

I like Kevin Nealon as an actor, I think he's a decent one, but even someone like him can't save the atrocity to television. The show is about the Martin family, an obnoxious family of annoying, tech-savy disgusting-looking clay figures. The father, Glenn Martin (Kevin Nealon), a dentist, decides to tear them away from their materialistic needs in an attempt to make a stronger family, puts them in an RV and takes away their cell phones, gaming consoles, etc. Now, the plot sounds pretty good, I'll admit it HAD potential, but this was advertised as a comedy, but the laughs are missing. The character's personalities are annoying (and they look ugly). The animation is exceptionally bad (Good example: "Moral Orel") and the writing is poor. The jokes are terrible and immature. Honestly, I feel as if I've wasted my time. This attempt at comedy...I haven't seen such a terrible attempt at comedy since Disaster Movie (Yes, I went there). Please, Nick at Nite, go back to running re-runs of 80-90's sitcoms. Do what you do best, and replace Glenn Martin, DDS with a show like...Alf? Actually, I can't picture Alf on N@N, so forget that...

It's an edgy show. Check out the Amish episode -- absolutely brilliant! Why are there so many hostile reviews? The reviews mostly seem to come from viewers of a channel called NICK (is that a kids channel?).
This show has unique, high quality and appealing animation. They certainly don't skimp on the animators.
The few episodes I've seen have been quite interesting and have had good production values. The plots may be bit over the top but there aren't many animated shows out there that can capture my attention (most of them are quite bland and have been gutted to meet PG13 censor requirements).
Check it out and ignore the NICK viewers (was there maybe a concerted effort to malign the show?). It's worth your while (especially the Amish episode)! This is a show that could very easily grow to rival the Simpsons when they peaked.

I watched this when I was a kid even though my mom never let me.
Its a claymation show for adults It was kinda popular back then
The jokes hit good even today Like in the first episode Glenn calls a group of people gentlemen and there's a woman there that looks like a guy And later he does it again
Looking at this now it's not the best but I think it holds up
Give it a watch if you have the time 😉

This show is really funny, and next to 30 Rock, is one of the few TV shows I actually look forward to seeing ever week. It's such a weird fit for Nick at Nite! I think that's why a lot of regular Nick at Nite viewers post such nasty comments about the show -- it's not aimed at them. And the people who WILL like it haven't discovered it yet. Hopefully, they will. It really belongs on Fox or Comedy Central.
My kids enjoy this show, but there's also another layer of comedy which goes over their heads, and entertains adults. Lots of political humor, bashing the left and right, sly references to obscure TV episodes, and some sex jokes. Glenn just might turn out to be a closet homosexual!

The fact that in these comments that no one is saying anything about the live in Asian slave for the daughter sickens me this is a cold and dark world we live in and no one is saying or doing nothing. Just look away.

I rlly don't understand all of this bad reviews of people who watched one episode of the show on some kids channel, i mean if you are into kids shows you are not gonna like this one💀
The show is really captivating, i just couldn't stop watching it, it became my comfort show before i even finished watching it. I think it is so underrated, you could call the show's humor a little to dark, idk. The show makes really god criticism of american healthcare, education, presidents, there are jokes about donald trump and joe biden, capitalism, economy etc. It really reminds me of south park, just with the better animation. It is kind of gross sometimes (but i like gross stuff).
The animation or claymation (is that what it's called) is really cool, it gives a nostalgic feeling to the show. The only mistake this show made was airing in the wrong place(kids tv channel) at the wrong time, and thats why it didnt reach much success, I'm just so sad we didnt get more seasons of this masterpiece.

This is an absolutely funny show and it's fall off your chair hilarious. It has always been an underrated show. When it first premiered back in 2009 on Nick at Nite it was awesome and everyone got excited over it so I don't know why the ratings declined over the years. It is solid 10/10 from the first to the last episode. I've turned a lot of people on to the show over the years. It sucks they never released it on disk to buy. The characters are all funny. The setting makes it feel old but it's actually not which is nice. Absolutely stunning animation for the time it was made too since that stuff wasn't too common in the early 2000s much.

Eric Fogel, the writer of the cult classic Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV, is a claymation god. The show is about a dad that is trying to bring his family closer together. And what better way than to buy an RV and travel the country?
The show is filled with puns that are so dumb that you can't help yourself but laugh. The show proves that delivery is an important part of jokes, as too many shows have failed at trying to convey puns as funny jokes. The voice acting is great for a show with less than 500 iMDB votes... And this is probably what struck me the most: for a show that is so unpopular (for the wrong reasons; or may be just the right ones?) it is a real gem. I've enjoyed this more than the last 3-5 Seasons of Family Guy, which is a staple show on TV.
Now for the reasons for the bad reviews: The majority of negative reviews stems from what are most likely parents. This show apparently aired on Nick Nite, a program intended for teens. As such, I think the show explores a great deal of teen themes, however, it does have some gore and perverse themes. It reminds me of South Park at some places, especially since it also has a very unique animation style, albeit they have varying degrees of vulgarity (South Park being more vulgar). If you let your teen watch The Simpsons, then this show shouldn't be a problem either. However, the claymation does enable a more graphic display of violence than is seen in The Simpsons.
Funnily enough, the bad reviews attracted me even more to the show. What's better than parents getting upset over a show? Watching that exact show. Whereas South Park is a love/hate deal, Glenn Martin DDS is hard not too like. This show, and its writer Eric Fogel, deserves way more credit. It was just recently uploaded to YouTube on it's own channel. I sincerely hope that adultswim, given their track record and recent claymation gem "The Shivering Truth", will pick up this show and revive it. I have yet to see the second season, but I can already tell that this show is a hidden gem.

A couple of the first few episodes were disgusting and unfunny. Now that they have taking out the laugh track, it is good. It is not all potty humor and is good animation for the first season of a nick at nite show! The humor has been smarter, and the plots are better. The Korea episode was hilarious. Watch it before you judge it, or learn how to expand your sense of humor.
And it is not directed at kids. Its on prime time at nick at nite on Monday and has a TVPG rating for infrequent language, suggestive dialogue and occasionally moderate violence. It is directed at teens.
I would have given it a 4/10 when I first saw its first 3 episodes, now I would give it a 8/10

This show is awful, crude, and downright Nasty. I can't believe that they would even air this crap, it's not entertaining all. The jokes are not funny, the look of show in general is really bad and to top it all off there is a laugh track. A freaking laugh track! I knew from trailers they ran that it would be bad but the laugh track just took it all to another level. The writing its self makes no sense. There was also a scene they showed in the trailer that let me know for sure how crude this was, the Dad was digging in some kids mouth and his whole hand went through the kids mouth including the chair he was sitting in. It's bad enough that Nick is suffering with the crap they show during the day and now this? Ugh please end this. This show is just begging to be canceled, I won't be surprised if it doesn't make it past the first season.
well this show is about a family (& Someone's friend) and for some reason they fail at getting anything CLASSIC! The animation is pretty good. The voice acting is great! It is pretty funny! I like that one episode when they go to an Amish country & a girl flashed her ears. If you like really funny shows watch THIS!this show better than those other crappy shows on Nick or Nicktoons Network (Chalkzone & The Mighty B!)
pros:
great voice acting, cool animation, never gets old, makes laugh your you know what off cons A family member dose something stupid in a funny way you should watch this show! it is very funny

First of all, this show rocks. And no, im not a "rabid fan", but um some of these reviews are just idiotic. Where do people get these ideas?
Glenn Martin is supposed to be funny. He has far more humor than 90% of the shows out there.
AND STOP ASKING NETWORKS TO BRING BACK SCAREDY SQUIRREL! THAT SHOW IS FREAKING STUPID!

This is awesome! So good writing and really funny jokes/situation. Also, the Brazilian voices are 50 times better than the original voices! This is a show I really look forward to watching the next episode. I only had that feeling with the early The Simpson seasons.
I really like the whole travelling around the country situation. My God I love Courtney, Wendy and Connor! Jackie is pretty great too. Well, Glenn is just Glenn, LoL.
It's a shame that TBS Brazil channel only shows it in the early morning but I tape it every single day. Really hope this show gets better reviews.
Just watch it, you will have a great time laughing at the Martins.

I judge by the show's adult humor, it is like the simpsons. As you may know, (skip the info of simpsons though since it is popular) The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening, James L. Brooks and Sam Simon for the Fox Broadcasting Company. It is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Set in the fictional town of Springfield, in an unspecified location in the United States, it caricatures society, Western culture, television and the human condition. And know, glenn martin. Glenn Martin, DDS is a stop-motion adult animated sitcom that premiered on Nick at Nite on August 17, 2009. The series was produced by Tornante Animation and Cuppa Coffee Studios, in association with Rogers Communications. Glenn Martin, DDS was Nick at Nite's fourth original series (after Hi Honey, I'm Home!, Fatherhood and Hi-Jinks). One of the show's creators besides Michael Eisner, was Eric Fogel, who had success creating the MTV claymation series Celebrity Deathmatch. The show premiered in Canada on October 3, 2009, on Citytv, and March 18, 2010, on Sky One in the UK and Ireland. Season two premiered on June 11, 2010. The show ended on November 7, 2011.

I cannot believe the same network that shows Spongebob, Dora, reruns of Andy Griffith and Bill Cosby would show something like this garbage. It isn't funny, and it isn't appropriate at the time slot it is scheduled to be shown at. Have mercy and put this show out of his misery before it drags Kik down any lower. I watched because I believed the hype that it was going to be one hilarious, belly laugh. The only thing my belly did was turn, followed by my hand turning channels. Come on Nik, if I want to watch garbage I would head to the local dump and watch it being ground up, which is what you should do to this sorry excuse of a time slot filler. Nik you you are above this junk!

Terrible, terrible trash. If the episode I just saw speaks for the series everyone connected should be ashamed of themselves, a very unfunny "send up" (I guess) of the Amish. By the way, where did the responsibility of television networks go? Nick is showing this at 8 with clearly inappropriate material for kids carrying right over from the 7:30 show. Like when ABC "Family" shows Cruel Intentions in its prime time slot. This one is not just in-appropriate, its in-funny, it reminds me of a poorly written Back to the Barnyard episode with a really bad laugh track. It really doesn't deserve ten lines of comments except thats what IMDb insists on now. I can't think of a TV show I've seen recently (except for Back to the Barnyard) that rivals this one in non-entertainment.
This show is very funny. There are many previous comments that this is one show that should not have a future, especially on nick. I'll agree that this show has NO business airing prior to 11pm, especially on either of the two nick channels. It actually has a regular time slot on 'TheN' network at 11pm on Mondays but I have seen it at other times on the other two networks. Message to everyone with negative comments - Stop being so stiff lipped and loosen up. It is just a simple show with simple plots and very funny delivery. The actors (or voices, at least) do a great job and I hope this show continues. I'm very surprised to read that even a Robot Chicken fan doesn't approve of this show. Now I really can't believe that. Robot Chicken is very, very 'Adult'only or 'Crude', yet it has a huge following and great success on Cartoon network, as well as on DVD. This show isn't as bad as your average episode of that series. I hope that there are some IMDb users that see this series for just what it is, funny, NOT for kids, and just 22 minutes of fun. Besides, since when does a 'Nick at Nite' lineup have a big following from kids? Let's run through some of the past and present shows on the network: Taxi, Who's the Boss, The Nanny, George Lopez, Cheers, Three's Company, Roseanne!!! All both inappropriate and misunderstood by kids. Have I made my point? Do I need to continue? Bottom line, JUST DON'T WATCH GLENN MARTIN DDS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT!!! There are only about 400 other channels to watch at any given moment.
