Everything seemed to be going well for this movie in the first 10 minutes and I really wanted to give it a chance. Attractive actors, good sound and editing, interesting story line developing. But I couldn't get past the horrendously horrible fake English accents. None of the actors could deliver their lines convincingly in English. It became painfully obvious that this movie should not have been in English. Too bad.
'The Nanny's Night' is a film made in Spain where the actors all speak English. It's rare that I'd start a review with that fact, but I feel it's kind of pertinent because clearly English isn't the actors' native tongue, therefore not only do the lines come across as a bit 'off' and 'stilted,' but at times I struggled to even hear what they were saying (I guess that's where subtitles really come in handy).
A young woman takes a job as a nanny for the night to an - almost teenage - girl (a premise which made me wonder as the girl is clearly old enough to look after herself, yet she requires bedtimes stories etc, making her out to be much younger than she obviously is). During the night, blood flows.
It's marketed as a 'horror comedy' yet I'm afraid I barely picked out anything that made me smile until at least halfway through. There are a few pop culture moments and bits where the characters appear a bit 'self referential,' but, apart from that, there aren't many laughs to speak of. Every now and again something jarring will happen like a cartoon segment out of nowhere or some text written on the screen in comic format.
It's typically low budget, set entirely in the house for 90% of the film and there's not a lot of special effects or gore to really make it stand out. The set itself is nice and well-lit with colourful lighting everywhere, but it feels like Spain have tried to copy Netflix's 'The Babysitter' which did the whole thing a lot better.
It's not a long film, but it does drag in places - they ever try to pad the runtime with the characters watching the - copyright free - 'Night of the Living Dead' from the late sixties (that's probably the best bit). There are a few moments which act as 'twists,' but I felt those were unnecessary - just watch 'The Babysitter' instead - at least you'll be able to understand the characters.

I will at least give good attempts at a film a minimum one star. This one honestly deserved no stars though. Not only was the actresses accents WAY too thick to understand anything that was gong on. The story was just stupid! At least have a good story. No subtitles made this film a comedy to me. Instead of Burger they said Booger. The only plus side to this movie was the lead was hot, IF she had been nude in this movie once I would have given it one star. Avoid this movie even if you think the cover looks cool. It was a trap!
It might be a bit much to give this an 8, but I like the gore and the comic edges of it, plus I keep watching it so it's more than a 7 in my book. It has a nice independent feel to it, but it's not so poorly made that it feels cheap. It's worth a watch.
Like I said this film is interesting for a lot of reasons, it's similar to my own film where I use my friends as actors and channel demons into my own personal friend to kill my other friends. I really like how I had my actors do their own stunts, like Jackie Chan, not sure if they do in Nanny's Night. I also like the gore in Nanny's Night, it parallels how I did it quite well, I had one friend crush me from the buttocks, and then he threw my other friend down the stairs... now as professional stunt people we had a lot of fun. I hope they did too thanks to the way the independent films can be criticized, not sure this one' overall rating since it has so few review's.

I have enjoyed this los budget more than any at the cuarenta box office! I have seen nerve, intrigas and above all desire to do something enjoyable, and that is the importat thing. A delight.
